Michael nodded, still unusually excited. "Since my white light came back. It's different. You can feel. It's almost like being alive, but there's so much more to it. I know no living human who can conjure, not truly." He created a table then, put his plate down, and summoned two chairs right where they stood. Once again he pulled Lissie's out for her.
"Will you leave the house, now? You can. It's much easier to wander after the white light. The people who bought this house will only cause you trouble."

Lissie sat in thought at Michael's question. She didn't really have anywhere to go. Undoubtedly her fields of bluebells had been built over in the name of progress.
"Could I come with you? To Arizona?" She asked, hopefully. "Maybe we could go to new places? I've always imagined what America might be like. It's probably a lot like here though, isn't it?" It was a disappointing thought. But she'd be with Michael! And that was the most important thing.

"I think you'd be surprised as to what 'here' is like today," Michael said, "but of course you can come. I don't imagine that the others will care. You could even say with me, if you like...?"
Now his expression faltered, but only in embarrassment. "We could get your your own room, of course! That might be best."

When Michael had suggested she stay with him, Lissie went pink. She conjured a tea cup and took a sip. "If you don't mind, I would like staying with you," she said, and gave him a smile.
"What do we tell your friends? Your job is to get rid of me, isn't it?"

"I have only one room. Two, if you count the small attic."Plus he had no bed, no dining area, nothing of the sort, unless he conjured it.
He took a bite of his crepe and shook his head. Reasonably, he chewed and swallowed before he responded. "I wasn't lying about my job. We help entities, and there are many, many supernatural beings in the world. Ghosts are not the least of them. I am the one to help the dead cross over, and most are not so lucid as you."

"The number of rooms won't matter," Lissie assured Michael quickly. She didn't want him worrying about that sort of thing! None of that was important. They didn't need room to be happy.
"Do you think I could help?" She asked. Other ghosts who needed help...maybe she could help other people get to their families.

Michael shrugged. "It's possible. There's training and fieldwork, but I'm sure that you could do it," he said. "Most ghosts are not like people any more, though, and if they are like people they are like disturbed people. I was as such myself for quite some time."
He conjured one of the same cakes they'd had during their first time in the garden. "Here. Try this." He wanted her to live the same experience he had during their first... my, had it really been a 'date?' It might have been.

Strangely enough, Toby was waiting for the ghosts when they came back inside. He was lounging in a chair, smiling in a way that said he knew, and he was amused. This wasn't an unusual expression for him, and Michael realized that they had been caught. Still, calm and cool as ever, the spirit approached.
"Can I speak with you a moment?"
"Sure, absolutely," Toby said. He stood and started for their meeting place in the entryway. Elise looked different by a long stretch. Toby had seen that sort of healing before. He'd bet that she had whitelighted out there in the garden, though why he didn't know, but he'd bet he knew why she'd stayed.

Lissie blinked as she spotted Toby. He seemed to have been waiting for them. ...Oh! Was he here for news? He'd seemed interested, when she'd asked him about love. She gave him a smile.
"I'll go find your other friend," she said, and disappeared.
Poor Dari. Lissie appeared beside him. "Why didn't you get sick?" She asked.

Dari looked up from the monitors and smiled.
"I can't get sick," he said, "I'm not human." He'd heard much stranger questions. Comparatively, this was nothing.

"Oh," Lissie frowned in bafflement for a moment, before nodding. Right. Entities. "I see," she said. "I didn't try with that other one, Michael said he's a fairy?"

"He's a sort of faerie, yes," Dari said, "He may be able to get sick, but he's a healer. It probably wouldn't keep long, if it did take. I don't have organs myself, or a bloodstream, a brain... none of the things that can get sick."

Lissie stared at Dari for a long, long time. "Oh," she said, at last. "Well. I don't have a body." It was probably best to be accepting of a creature that could function without all of those things.
"Are you a demon?" She asked.

"You're liable to find that you don't get sick much any more either, save on special days," Dari said. He didn't want to go into what, exactly, but he knew that she had whitelighted in the same way that he had known Michael was. He shook his head then. "No, no. Alien."

...an alien. Huh. She stared further.
Well, then. She'd have to ask Michael how to handle that response. She was pretty sure having a brain and blood were universal. "So, you're from what country?"
