Owle Isohos

PostPosted: Wed Aug 22, 2007 6:58 am

"Wait, what?" Owle demanded, her own voice rising in volume dangeroulsy. "What do you mean? How?"

She remembered herself, lowering it again. "She was here? What? Why wouldn't she say something? It's not like she wanted to leave, not with Rafe here, and she wouldn't run away from you, cause...I just, she wouldn't."

Rafe's suggestion that Tijae was in love with Sunstrike...her suggestion that he wipe her memories to make things easier on her...her enthusiastic greeting of Sun, even when she couldn't remember who he was...Tijae wouldn't run away from Sunstrike. Owle was sure of it.

"You sure it wasn't...an illusion or something?" She wouldn't put it past those two. They were gods of nightmare, after all, such things would certainly be within their power. And if they knew that Sun was on to them, they might try to throw the trail off...

Siat lifted his hand to his mouth and coughed into it awkwardly. It was only now that he realised how ill-prepared he probably was. The only weapons he had on him was a basic knife in his backpack (which he didn't even bring along for combat purposes) and the metal gauntlets he had hidden under the bandages on his arms.

"Huuuuuuh..."

He sighed quietly to himself.

"So... uh... I'm Siat."

His eyes moved around slightly.

"And I'm leaving," said Sakura rather quickly afterwards. She wasn't entirely sure what Kalis was looking at - she was something of an oddity at the moment so she didn't really mind - but the whole situation was finally starting to get underneath her skin. "Back in a few."

Loud clunking could be heard going down the stairs, and nothing else was heard besides the slam of the front door.
PostPosted: Wed Aug 22, 2007 3:45 pm

And if Sakura assumed, even for a moment, that no one would follow her out she was probably right.

Wait, what?

The brow went back up again, but Kalis didn't say anything. He just turned his eyes back to Siat, whom he had by this point figured fought without anything. Since they'd said the guy was a fighting type, hadn't they? And he wasn't carrying anything. All that crazy magicy stuff hadn't even gotten into Kalis' head yet.

It would have been interesting to see if he could get a look at how those skinny Eastern swords were supposed to be used from Owle's brother- assuming he'd be fighting with them "right" and not butchering the style because he could stick some voodoo in there with it, or bastardizing it for personal preference like Kalis did. Looking at that he was supposedly related to Owle... yet lacking scales or wings, he assumed, with yet another color of hair, he was probably more likely to do something wierd than "normal" but, eh.

"I've been going by Kalis Acineres," he allowed back with a crooked nod of the head. "Though I think we've already done introductions."

Kalis, for his part, probably looked more prepared than he was. Cooly relaxing, with his clothes sloppily pulled together, and his gear precisely strapped over top. The sword over his back was a Western style blade, not unusual except that is was particularly long. Well, it's hilt was, anyhow. The blade itself was probably more a long one hand blade or short two hand blade's length. His gauntlets were steel topped and had a thick duster over the knuckle, but the hand itself was leather, not metal. His boots had some sort of external metal plating, it was clear, and he had knife and a pack at his waist. Though this was all in lue of some sort of magical abilities, or equipment, or a gun or something. That being the case... he probably could have used some full steel gauntelts and a breastplate on top of what he had, at the least.

Sunstrike

PostPosted: Fri Aug 24, 2007 5:27 am

Sunstrike made an irritated sound at the suggestion. He hated to admit that was a possibility, though, he'd rather that, then the thought that Tijae was simply ******** with him.

Literal innuendo's aside, he propped himself against the sink and had a good think about what to do.

"I guess that solves the question of whether or not we're going. There's no choice now. I just don't like being led around by the nose, it happens far too often."

There was a little hesitation, before he placed his hand on her shoulder and squeezed lightly, scales or no.

"Thank you for the help Owle."

Owle sighed, a little despairingly, but when he thanked her she twisted her mouth into a smile. Faint though it was, it was genuine.

"Yeah...anytime."

It didn't take a mind reader to see how nervous she was, to notice that she hated the thought of doing this. But she was doing it, and that was the important thing, if you got right down to it.

"I guess I'll go...fall asleep, then," she said hesitantly, the notion still sounding strange in her mind. Her hand reached for the knob, then turned and pushed open the bathroom door.

If Sun didn't have anything more to say, she'd step out into the room, march the few steps to her bed with a grim determination, and collapse onto the covers.

"Is everybody ready...?"

She didn't doubt that they would be; subconsciously, Owle was just trying to delay the inevitable.

"Ready," echoed a very damp and very male Rage who had just returned. It was an oddly familiar scene, as he was drying off his hair with a towel, although this time he was a bit more dressed. Worn jeans gave way to the stretchy bike pants he... or she... had been wearing earlier, although the jeans fit far better now and stayed where they were supposed to.

As for the rest of him, he was wearing a grey button-down shirt that covered most of his chest, and over that a thick, heavy-looking bomber jacket with a bone dragon emblem stitched onto the back. All of his equipment from earlier was there, though.

He used the towel finished drying off his hair before discarding it on a dwarf passing by just outside the door, then pulled out a short red ribbon to tie up his hair.

After his last trip, this was one of those things that he was actually not looking forward to.

((A week later, I find that I am Rage, destroyer of threads!! *Lightning and thunder all that nonsense.*))

Siat took hold of the bandages attached to his left hand and fiddled with them. After a second or two, there was a metallic snap and locking sound. He tensed his fist, curling and uncurling his fingers multiple times as if getting a new sense of feeling in them. Satisfied, he nodded and ran a hand through his hair.

Ready. "Ready."

Kalis didn't feel there was a lot to say. He had been waiting on them, or at least it felt like, half excited and half ready to get it done before it had time to get harder, to build doubt.

He didn't say anything, only grinned, and tucked a hand in pocket wit hthe thumb hooked around the outside.

Lazily, he settled to seat by the bed again. Even if they suspected there might well be conflict where they were headed, they were going there through sleep.

Which made him reconsidering his silence after a long moment.

"You don't need a bedtime story, do you bird?"

((sorry to hold up the works guys))

Sun would be waiting patiently, arms folded behind his head, watching Owle. But soon, as things seemed to crawl by, waiting for an answer and everyone talking, he'd shift from one foot to another, and finally...

Finally...probably after she'd answered Kalis,

He'd knock Owle out, by way of a staff over the head.

Okay...maybe he'd not been that patient.

Owle grinned, laughing nervously at Kalis's suggestion.

"I might," she replied, then reached over to draw the covers down...

...only to sprawl limply onto them, a large bump rising on her head where Sun had struck her.

Ow.

Sun'd better get to dreamland, pronto, cause Owle wanted to have a few words with him. mad

Since Owle didn't sleep with anyone in the room that often, it wasn't likely that anyone would get to see what was happening, almost the moment Owle was unconscious. The bracelet glowed again, but this time it seemed to be melting off of Owle's wrist and sliding to the ground as if it had a life of it's own.

One piece lifted as if it was, perhaps one of Owle's snakes, looked at the others in the room, and then nodded in affirmation, thinning out and lifting even further into the sky, it's movements like grand silver scribbles. It made loops, and twirls and where ever it went, a strange metal like object would foolow in it's trail until it formed a sleek, almost elven gate over her bed.

The 'gate' then began to move sliding down Owle's bed, but when it passed Owle was still there, although she was now also inside what appeared to be a bubble, in a place that was clouded around with smoke and shadows. But there was no way to tell that Owle had gone anywhere, since her body remained 'sleeping' on the bed.

However, the little 'snake' that was Owle's bracelet seemed to realize that the group as a whole would not know this, and nodded to them to pass through, as it made it's way back to Owle's wrist. It was up to them whether to take it.

But if take it they did, they would find themselves in that same bubble as Owle, the shadows pressing in on the bubble of energy as if an oppressive force. If you look closely, you could just catch a pair of angry eyes here, or a claw trying to reach in there. It seemed there had been a bubble of protection around Owle, protecting her from these nightmares.

And Kalis was about to have those words with him right here and now.

He got accross the room in a flash, with a hand on Sunstrike's collar, mouth open furiously and the other hand raised, though not in a fist. And froze. This was about the part where we noticed the glowy smokey snakey thing around the girl.

What stage at which apparantly depending on whether one meant "sleeping with" literally or suggestively, and what constituted often.

Blank look.

"...what?"

It wasn't his fault his school had not offered Overview of Magicks 101.

Siat frowned.

Frowned and placed a hand on top of Kalis' bicep, gently pulling his fist-arm down.

"Relax."

Siat thought it wasn't a major tactical decision for this guy to attack Sunstrike, whilst leaving himself to simply donkey-punch the guy into oblivion, so Kalis could be forgiven.

The gate was just kinda weird, though.

"You go in first."

He shook Kalis' arm insistently.

Taking a quick look around the room, Rage's initial reaction, as well, was to cause some degree of harm to Sun for cracking his sister across the head like that - but there were more important things to take care of, and since everyone else was so hesitant....

"Well, catch you on the flip side," he said with all the excitement of a slow-pitch softball league game. A terrible analogy, to be sure, but it gets the point across. And may offend slow-pitch softball league players.

In a flash, he had disappeared through the portal. It wasn't like he'd never done this before.
