-]Hellboy[- That is absolutely insane. eek Thank god everyone (else) is ok. They figure out why that nutjob was even there in the first place? It was suspected that he may have been preparing to rob the gas station around the corner. Haven't had conformation yet. And OF COURSE they track down the thug's grandmother and put a camera in front of her face, "He's a good boy and I can't believe he would do something like this. It has to be a mistake." Sorry lady, your grandkid was a dirtbag. You'll likely be the only one to miss him. Got asked about by a person I was doing some work for the other day. She made the comment that she felt bad for the guy, which is an attitude that I've seen before and am still baffled by. I responded calmly (calmly, because she's really a nice woman at heart), "Ma'am, he opened fire at a police officer in my front yard, in front of my house, where my baby daughters were sleeping. He got what he deserved." That reminded me of an incident from my bouncing days. We were having a problem with a purse snatcher. Why was it a problem? Because people and stupid and women would sit at the bar with their purses hanging off the back of their chairs and not paying attention. Said thief would just reach in pull the wallets. Caught one in the act, followed her to the ladies room (it was a woman and a thief in a bar will always either head straight for an exit or to the bathroom), drug her out of the ladies room and we literally sat on her until the Police arrived. Busted, found out she was wanted in three states later on. So, as the Police are hauling her away in the back of the car, the woman who had her wallet taken and now returned says completely serious, "I feel so sorry for people who have to do things like that." My response, "Then you need your head examined. She was robbing you. Would you have given her all of your money and credit cards if she had asked you nicely?" Bleeding heart idiot.

Speaking of work, why must people ship 80+ lb. air conditioners through UPS?!

Natalia Romanova Jaeger, I'm just glad the situation in front of your house didn't go any other way- you know? confused You and me both. It could have been a lot worse. On a separate note, I'm fairly ticked off. I hosted a small invitational tournament today and none of the dojos I invited showed up. They could have said something in advance. I spent the morning pacing the florr wondering where everyone was.

That doesn't do to good for those other dojos' reputations I wouldn't think. Well, YMCA martial arts programs never really had a decnt reputation since Karate Kid. One of the dojos, I could understand because that Y had just fired it's instructor, and the new instructor is trying to rebuild the program. There's a good chance they didn't have anyone eligable for entry. I know this because the knew instructor is my friend Johnny who trains at my dojo when he gets a chance. The other guy kinda ticked me off. He sent an E-mail today apologizing and saying he'd been away and didn't really feel like his students were ready for a tournament. Geez, it was just an excure to get together so the kids could show off. The guy's been around forever too. Trains under Yamashita (it you don't know who that is, watch Rising Sun, Yamashita is the guy Wesley Snipes fights in the building that's under construction that smiles at him after Snipes kicks him), but he got his second degree black belt from Lenny Jordan and that's my sensei. I was ready to start some s**t over it, but I've cooled off a bit.

J-Man, you and I have opposite lives, I swear.
This coming weekend, i'm holding an invitational before qualifiers in San Fran coming up, all gyms have already sent in their rosters with nothing but positive feedback about having a pre-qualifier meet for everyone. Hell, the gym is at code already, parents are gonna have to chill outside because after I rearrange the equipment for comeptition ready, there's going to be to many people in there. xD
Luckly, each coach (my staff included) offer to judge so I don't have to pay the asswipes that USGA would send in. rolleyes

I can't muster up any sympathy for anyone who:
- Steals a car - Shoots at a police officer - Is stupid enough to wear his pants around his ankles while committing said crime
Human compassion is all well and good, but it kinda goes out the window when reckless endangerment of human life becomes involved.
Anyway, lots of new stuff in my little corner of the universe since I was last in these parts:
- I'm seeing (I'm bad at relationship terminology but I hope that still means getting to know each other as a pretext to me working up the courage to ask her out "officially"/start a relationship) the most amazing woman I've ever met. I know, we all always say that about the current crush, but she puts all my exes to shame on general principle. It's funny, she's the first woman I've ever pursued who can really connect with me intellectually on even terms and she's younger than me. Right now I'm making plans to take her to a big Harry Potter book launch bash on Friday.
- I've begun the arduous journey of becoming a tattoo artist. My first machines and all the goodies that come along are being shipped as we speak and I'm signing up for all the health and basic training seminars offered at this year's tattoo convention coming up at the end of August.
- To that end I've gotten my first tattoo and finally got my lip pierced, but you guys have probably seen the pictures around CD already.
So yeah, that's my big update. xd

I posted my resume on Monster.com and I now have an interview today with an insurance company. I didn't even apply there, they just saw my interview and I guess something impressed them (or they're just desperate for people). The cool thing is, the lady on the phone assured me that this will not entail going door-to-door selling life insurance.
