My Company Veteran Sgt (a postion i made up) took out a Chaos lord and he has the same stat line as a heroic senoir officer

Oh bullshit, Imperial Guardsmen are quite durable. If they weren't, they wouldn't be an army in the first place.

mine absolutly refuse to give up even when faced with overwhelming odds. Such as my Commander fighting a termi captain and emperors champ in CC and only taking one wound until my other squads could rush in

it's all about grit and endurance, you'd be surprised how many 5+ armour saves you can make in assault.

Last night i tried out my small Seraphim with my guard, by the time they took out ther Chaos Marine Bikers i knew they were worth their points cost to take

if u can fit a uint of 10 serapham in a IG army your good to go. but some times a good unit of gray kinghts can do just as much damage. if u give them enogh fir support.

I brought a pack of Cadian Shock Troopers and a Cadian Command Group today.

But I'm a hardcore Space Marine player. Why did I get the Imps you ask? Those Imps are from the Zion system, the Arch Angel home system.

One day I will create a Guard force to incorperate with my Witch Hunters, much more fitting them GrEy Knights. Besides, I already have a complete Sisters force waiting to be painted.

My unit if five took on a near full unit of CSM bikes and wiped them out. Other than that i didnt use them well at all.

here is the PERFECT guard tactic: give light infantry to every one; own enemy with 1 bizillion laz guns starting the geme IN RANGE! I killed a tau army with this tactic because i didn't have to walk all the way up to him.

also, camoline is good too, camoline guard in ruins get a 3+ save! in bunkers 2+!!!

oh, one more thing, if you want a guard assult army just use priests, they can't be targeted in assult because they aren't independent characters and they offer S6 attacks, not only that but their rule states that a unit with a preist MUST charge as long as an enemey is withen 6 inches (even if you just got out of a MOVING transport.) Rhino rush can now be replaced with chimera rush even with the new rules.
