:::Another glance at his face, and she sighed exasperatedly, not at him, but at everything:::

:::And through all of it, she just wanted to be able to do what she did best, and make it all better:::

:::She yelled at him, her voice cracking. Then abandoning all hope of getting him to sit...:::

What the hell happened already? You just- you got into a fist fight with him? What- i-

:::But she couldn't verbalize her confusion:::

He- he just appeared there? And you punched him? Tell me what happened!

:::Cora was expecting an explination like "The seraphim jumped out of the shadows and attacked me and then..." But instead he was talking about the captain and some kind of artifact"

What... what is it? What are you talking about?

:::She was still for a moment. She knew damn well what it meant, to be able to over power the Seraphim, but she had no reference with which to understand why that was at all possible. No way to apply it to her life, or Luke's for that matter:::

You- you just... fought him?

We can fight him.... Why? What did it? What is it? How do we use it?

:: biggrin espite herself, and despite her confusion on the matter, she smiled triumphantly... her eyes gleamed with the prospect of seeing the Seraphim's blood:::

:::The smile, and the idea of beating the ever living crap out of the Seraphim, no entirely leaving her, she began to ask:::

What is this artifcat... I mean, the Captain never said anything to me about...

*Enter Cora from Main Room pg 1179*

:::Cora is jogging briskly, with one of her hands busy smearing tears away from her eyes. How could he do this? Why now? He's unbelievable... am I so stupid? Is there some rule that says a man can do whatever he wants, regardless of how I feel about it, and I'm not allowed to get upset?:::

:::A million thoughts like that dashed through her mind as she found her table with the books and the magazines she'd left there when Luke first appeared. The reminder of him, and the situation he'd shown up after broke her back into sobbing finally, and her head, heavy with angry fell onto her crossed arms on the table:::

:::A minute later, a beeping noise came from her cuff. Cora emerged from her sobbing a moment later and pressed an unseen trigger on it. It reported in a woman's voice:

Seratonin levels dropping dramatically.
Nuerochemical imbalance imminent.
Neurofunctionality impaired

It beeped again and was quiet:::

Shut up... :::She mumbled... and began to cry again. But shortly she lifted herself from her hunched position, and began to fiddle with her belt clumbsily, the tears obstructing her view, and the anger paralizing her muscles. After a moment, she had loaded her administrator gun. A sob escaped here and there... and then a few more as she pressed the barrel of it to her upper arm.

Cora closed her eyes and pressed the trigger... as the chemical jolted through her, she began to cry again. She layed her head back down on the table, propped onto a book. Her breathing slowed... the crying stopped. Her eyes glazed with the tears becoming still, and her heart slowed. She was breathing, and seeing... but she stopped feeling:::
