"Anywhere you go is fine with me!" Merc says. He looks at Sethos as they walk, noticing the wiry muscles concealed beneath his tan skin. "How long have you been playing tennis?"

Sethos is honestly a little dumbstruck by the question, "Ionno. Since I was little, about as long as I remember. My mom was a tennis coach so she got me into it about as soon as I was old enough to run."
He heads into the restaurant, not seeing anything more promising around.

Merc frowns at this. Sethos had been forced to do this his whole life and that wasn't something Merc could comprehend. "Do you like being a tennis pro?" he questions. It would be ok if Sethos did, but if not, his father had been every unfair to him.

Seth nods, "Yeah, I like it a lot. I can't imagine doing anything else. Although.. I do remember a little bit of a rebellious moment when I was 13 or so, and I swore I wouldn't play anymore... I didn't last two weeks without playing though, and I felt so bored."

Mercutio relaxes. "It's good that you enjoy it. I couldn't handle mum and pa forcing me to do something. But then again, Cat people aren't exactly the most obedient of beings. It seems we all have minds of our own. I'm not sure what I want to do yet... Not tennis though..." he smiles at Sethos teasingly.

"You'll find something eventually. Gods, most people don't know what they're doing for their life at my age, I'm kind of weird that way."
They get a table and menus

Merc thinks on this for a moment. "You're right. Most people don't know what they want to do with their lives at our age. I only know that I want to meet a nice boy to love and be with forever. Or maybe a not-so-nice boy.... because I like rough ones... Wait... I maybe shouldn't have said that..." Merc blushes a deep red, and refuses to look Sethos in the eye.

Seth brings up his menu to cover his shocked and slightly blushing expression. What the hell do you say after someone makes a comment like that? Not that Sethos has a problem with it, but you don't usually expect someone to just say that offhandedly. He clears his throat slightly, and says, "Well, that's certainly an.. interesting ambition."

Merc meets seth's eyes shyly. "I'm sorry, I didn;t mean to blurt that out. I should think more before I speak..." His cheeks are still a deep red.

"Aa, it's ok. I'm not a homophobe or anything, I was just a little surprised, that's all." He smiles at the catboy, trying to convey that everything's all right. The waitress comes and he orders a drink.

Merc orders warm milk, and turnes back to Sethos. "Is there anything besides tennis that you want to do with your life?" he asks. He's curious, like any cat, and likes to ask questions.

"I'm not really thinking too much about that, for now. Tennis players usually retire by age 30, so there'll be plenty of time for other things later, as far as I'm concerned. Of course, I guess pretty much everyone who doesn't have someone is looking for one, but I figure something like that will happen on it's own time it it's going to happen at all."

Merc nods, taking in the wisdom of that statement. "That's why I'm not actively looking. I figure that sort of thing comes to you, and you can't go out looking for it. If you do, it just ends up cutting down your hopes in the end."

"And you wind up forcing relationship that are bound to fail, and just making a bloody mess of things. If you wind up in a relationshop when you didn't mean to, then it's probably got a better chance of lasting then one you get into when that's what you're trying to do."
The waitress comes back with the drinks, and Sethos orders not only a meal but also a couple appetizers, since he really does work up quite an appetite at practice.

Merc laps at his milk a few times, then orders some fish. He prefers it raw, but cooked is ok, as well. "Have you ever gone through that?"
