I got to watch Case Closed. I have stuff 3 hours before normal time, so if I stay up until 3, I can watch it at 2:30. Last night was the episode that I saw first, the first time they were going through the episodes oh so long ago. Yeah.... I like that show. I started re-reading a book, and it's not as fun this time around, because I know what happens, and who this one character is dressed up as. But it's still entertaining. Now I get to laugh at the similarity between the character as he actually is and the one he acts as. It's funny, he's great when he's in character. He actually gets to let his feelings show, a little bit. I can't wait until school starts and I get to force my friend to read the book. whee

Do you watch Case Closed on Adult Swim? lol I couldn't force any of my friends to read a book. There was only one friend that enjoyed reading as much as I did (probably more) but she moved to the mountains...shoot, I promised her and my other friend that moved that I wouild kidnap them and we would all go to the beach! She says she's as pale as a ghost since the last time I saw her (around january I think) so I told her we'd get tans. I hope I can keep that promise

When I arrived at the cinema I was like this: mad gonk Howl's moving Castle was dubbed, not subbed!! The newspaper, which tells the movies and where we can see them, said that this was the only place that had Howl's Moving Castle subbed. I had to convince my mom to go all the way to a very far neighborhood, and when we get there, it had horrible voices!! Really, most of the voice actors were terrible. The only good ones were that fat woman's and Howl's Teacher, the owner of that dog. The rest was... ugh. Especially Sophie's... Well, that was the pre-thing, you know, erm... I don't know how to say it in English. Anyway, there'll be more places with it subbed later, so I'll watch it again.

But I have satellite, not cable. So I get it early. Well, earlier. Forcing my friends to read books is fun! Sadly, they don't like many of the books I try to get them to read. But one of my friends reads as much as I do, and we swap books and then I get to talk to someone about them! Yeah, it's a novelty for me. I rarely have the chance to, because one of my friends hates reading, another is always studying, the other one pretty much only reads for school, and then there's the friend who actually likes to read, who I only met this year. So it's a new thing for me, talking about books I've read. It's fun.

I just wrote so much and then the stupid computer had to freak out on me again? stressed
Anyway, I hear ya. The voice that made me twitch the most was Sophie?s sister, even if she didn?t have that big a role?Howl was fine to me in the beginning but for some reason, as soon as his hair turned Haku-style (spirited away) it made it weird?I don?t know how to explain it. Then again, I always say Disney could always improve their choices of guy voice actors, as well as some of the girls. Yep, Howl?s teacher was the one who got the better end of the deal?lucky it matched her.
You know, when Howl was throwing that tantrum about his looks I almost screamed, ?Hotohori!? but I just busted up laughing. The theatre I was in was hilarious on its own too?like the guy snoring in the front row lol Pretty interesting group came to watch, only about 10 people in there but enough to entertain me along with the movie?I just want it to come out on dvd already! heart

I loved the dub of Howl no Ugoku Shiro, I mean, I've watched it in Japanese and I loved it that way, but I honestly preferred the dub. The voices were well suited to the characters and were very tolerable. Especially compared to the s**t they throw on TV now a days. Disney works really hard to cast their voice actors wisely and thus far I've only ever been really disappointed in Sen to Chihiro (Spirited Away) and that was specifically with Chihiro's voice. I really think you guys don't give Disney enough credit, or just haven't watched enough really bad dubs ^^;;; In general though, I adore the movie, to me it was a great movie. I keep running into people that say it sucked and trashed Diana Wynn Jones' novel, but I think its stupid on their part to expect a movie to ever be exactly like a book. I think they should've just taken the movie as a separate entity celebrating the spirit of the original novel. It helps, I guess, that I hadn't read the novel beforehand, I ordered it afterward and I'm still waiting on it to arrive. Howl is by far, the BEST Miyazaki leading male I've ever seen (I've seen every Miyazaki movie too). Calcifer is also probably my favorite, he's awesome in both versions of the movie, but I love some more of his English lines. Wedsday:: Can't take the nudity go back to American cartoons =P

I saw it in dub, and I thought it was alright. The guy that did howl seems to have a couple different accents he uses in other movies and the one he choose for Howl I thought fit. Cal was probably good too, but then again I haven't seen the subbed yet. The Manda Wedsday:: Can't take the nudity go back to American cartoons =P I'm in a Watase guild, I can handle it fine. I was making a joke about his perfect-bishieness was taken down a notch.

Question, did any of you have trouble finding the Yuu Watase Guild when you first joined it? There was this request today that said that she "finally found" it. Is it that hard to find, or do most people just think anime when they think of Yuu Watase's works?

Erm, during this whole time I was talking about BRAZILIAN dub, not the American one. sweatdrop
LHL - I found the guild really easily. I mean, Watase is a manga-ka, not an anime director... So I think that this person didn't look hard, actually.

I have a question. Will you be making an Absolute Boyfriend/Zettai Kareshi sticky? I think we need one, since it was licensed. Also, we'll have a favorite character poll on the Genbu Kaiden sticky after most of the characters appear, right?

I don't know...I just have a problem with the guys. Their voices just seem so deep...especially Jason Marsden for Haku (that's why I always watch it in japanese, plus Chichiro's voice is better in japanese too). Tombo from KDS was nice, its the one that didn't have me minding the voices too much. Mononoke Hime will always be my favorite though...I wonder what it would've been like if Disney got to it first...Anyway, I think you're right. I haven't watched that much anime to judge Disney so much sweatdrop My apologies. The only anime I really watch are Miyazaki's, Kare Kano, and I have stuff from when I was younger (sailor moon, cardcaptors, digimon, the works xp )
And I almost forgot about Calcifer! surprised His VA was great (it was Billy Crystal right?) I like how Disney used him for calcifer and...shoot, I forgot his name but he was Jiji in KDS.
*points to sig* I agree about the best leading male role though lol I loved his hair dark...whew, okay I won't get started on his "bishieness." lol
Oh, it wasn't that hard to find the guild. All I did was type in "Yuu Watase Guild" and I was there heart Besides, we have a couple (if not a lot) new members and people use banners so it shouldn't be that hard nowadays...I think.

I'm waiting till I see Zettai Kareshi in stores before I make it into a sticky. And I really didn't even thinkn about a poll, that'd make sence. Course, we should peobably get a little farther before we make one.

About Howl's Moving Castle: I loved his dark hair, it was way better. And that tantrum was the funnyest thing ever. And yes, greatest male role of Miyazaki's. Personaly, as a person who not only recognizes voices, but also loves them, I loved most of the choices for the movie, though I didn't care much for young Soffie's voice. Oh, and the prince was one of my fav. voice actors, played Regal in ToS. Though it's NOTHING like the book, or as close to nothing as can be, it was still a great movie. Of course, I just plain loved the movie, scene it twice, either see it again, or buy it when it comes out in the winter (if not earlyer, wont be in theaters long). I'm just a huge Miyazaki fan, I guess.
Also, the El Capitan ran subbed on thursdays at 7, and if you really want to see it subbed, rent it when it's out on DVD.
