After a few battles and some dungeon scouting, Kousagi decided it might be a good idea to head back into the forest. Hopefully she could find her stripey tree friend again and get some more shinies from them! That thought was quickly squashed when the area shook, always a sure sign of something big, and smaller creatures began to scatter. The mouse blinked at them, watching their movements before turning back to look at what it was they were running from. Looking can get awfully dangerous...
Everything went black for a second and when things went back to normal, the pocket card was dinging about low HP. Not one to dwaddle too much, Kousagi turned and sprinted as fast as she could, not bothering with saying anything clever. She only squeaked, louder when she was struck again with the monster's terrible claws.

He reached another fork in the path, with the same two items. Phones frowned only slightly and this time went right, scooping up the potion.

Exploding trees, screaming people and the monster was coming closer ... It's teeth brushed him as it snapped at everything in site but he kept running.

Finally, he saw light up ahead, and realized the trees were thinning out a little. For a moment, he panicked, thinking that the monster would have an easier time catching him once it didn't have all the trees to crash through. But then he noticed that the crashing and screams were getting farther away.
He'd lost it. Or it lost him. Something had happened, and he'd gotten away. Bending over his knees, Phones panted softly. He was safe ... for now.

Though the scratch from the claws hurt, and her pocket card kept pinging LOW HP alerts at an annoyingly persistent rate, Kousagi didn't stop running. Maybe she wasn't as quick as a certain white rabbit, but hey, she was still quick on her little feet. A loud rustle behind her did not distract her, but made her continue on as fast as she could, but it is the advent of someone else that slows her pace. Behind her, in a sweet sounding voice, someone tells her to have a good day, to study hard, to smile and be happy. Another voice laughs at a joke, another calls her cute, a fourth tells her that if a friend cannot help her move then she shouldn't just stop asking. But it is the voice that shouts a haughty "OI LASSIE" that makes her turn around.
Those teeth are dreadfully sharp and quick, its over in a flash.

Oh man she just wanted to get away from all those teeth the Jabberwock had, she just didn't want to get eaten again. The creature this time had gotten close to HotRock to take a bite but something make the Jabberwock not to fully eat her but she still felt that it still had bitten her a little since she had taken damage.

Breathing hard as she had gotten out of the dark part of the forest that now the Jabberwock had lost interest in her since the stomping sounded to be walking away from her. HotRocks was glad for it as getting eaten twice was enough times. She didn't mind the forest still shakes as she walked off still breathing hard but glad to be safe for now and leveled up as well.

"I could stand some quiet lurking in a corner," Dog agreed. He put the pocket card away, then, on impulse, hugged her, careful not to squeeze too hard, since both of them were still hurting.
After he'd let go, he took her hand again as they turned towards the way out.

With only a little bit HP left Grey stopped running. She was in a clearing now and saw other people around her. She didn't hear or see the Jabberwock anymore so she realised she was save now. Thank goodness! She made it! She got rewarded for her escape too. This was great! She sat down at felt really tired now. She didn't have time for this before so it was great to be able to rest a bit now. She didn't even knew before she was this tired. She decided to leave after a short while and left the woods.

From the sign post back at the start of Tulgey Wood Aldara, now CorvidaeCat, had spent time losing herself in the lake. It had been both peaceful and chaotic there; enough to entrance her before finally pushing her away. She had continued on up until the point where she began to hear voices... Not the voices of trees, as she had been hearing, but frantic voices... Panicked voices.
Everything in the Tulgey Wood seemed to be shouting a warning; from birds to bees to rabbits and...
The wood went still, terrifyingly still, and then there was a loud crack followed by a thunderous ROAR.
To say that her feathers were ruffled by the sudden appearance of the Jabberwock was a complete and utter understatement. The pain that ripped through her at the initial CHOMP as a mouth filled with fangs crashed down upon her took her breath away and it required a moment that she didn't have to pull herself back together and RUN.

There was something odd about the forest.
She couldn't fully pinpoint what it was, originally, but it didn't take long for the issue to rear it's ugly head. Eyes widening in shock, she felt that fleeing was the hella smart thing to do at this time. Taking off as fast as her little feet could, she felt the sting of claws on her arm, a knick, at best, her mind instantly taking it in.
She had to get out.

Run. The thought echoed in her head as she did just that, making a mad dash through the woods in an attempt to put as much distance between herself and the Jabberwock as possible. Run. Her thoughts continued to encourage her, even as the Jabberwock disappeared, attempting to lull her into a false sense of security.
It was then the voices started, pulling at her, covering up the instinctual thought to run. She could hear friends calling to her, family attempting to entice her... Temptation.
Run.
She had played the game with voices calling her, cooing soft things before... She refused to listen to them this time, knowing what sort of pain being lulled into a false sense of security could cause. She would not let herself be drawn in this time. The Jabberwock would not catch her. Not as long as she continued to run.

With a small pop and trilling announcement from her pocket card, Kousagi arrived back at the Tulgey Woods. She blinked around once, found herself in front of the Jabberwock again and once again sustained a hit. With a squeak she turned and bolted off, small fists clenched tight. "You didn't even give me a warning! I'm supposed to have a boss battle start intro and you just skipped it!"

CorvidaeCat had not expected the sudden fork in the road accompanied by another sign post, nearly running into it only to skid to a halt at the last possible moment, largely in part to running head on into the post.
It took her another moment of wasted time to scramble back to her feet, dashing away the thought of dusting herself off in favor of snatching a potion and ducking quickly to the right. She needed a boost more than she needed a second chance. The only way that she would need a second chance would be if the Jabberwock caught her and she didn't intend to let it.
