"Rest," Andarien told Ponydash softly; and the Ponyta closed its eyes and lowered its head to sleep and recover from the battle.
Shiro had already pulled his tablet from his bag and was scrolling through the Pokedex app he had installed on it, looking for Yasu's new species.
"Flareon," he murmured, his red eyes skimming the screen. After a moment, he glanced up at Miyuki. "Would you like me to read you what it says or would you like to read it yourself?" he asked her. "It's just basic information, we'll have to add to it as we find things out ..."

"If you don't mind," Miyuki replied gently petting Yasu, "Could you read it aloud so both Andarien and I know? I noticed the fire didn't affect him, I think the burns are from when he was still an eevee."
She didn't know if it was just a fire pokemon thing or an ability.

Shiro nodded and began to read aloud.
"Flareon a flame pokemon, the fire-type evolution of Eevee. It has the Flash Fire ability, which makes it immune to fire-type attacks. In addition, its fire attacks grow stronger when it is attacked with fire-type moves."
He pursed his lips thoughtfully. "It says that in order for Eevee to evolve into Flareon, a Fire Stone would normally be required ... but I guess they're genetically unstable enough that the fire from Ponydash's attacks caused it to evolve. Like Zeus and the spark from my charger."
"And there are other forms that Eevees can take once they evolve, right?" Kaito asked curiously.
Shiro nodded. "Several. But these are their permanent forms now, so unless Eon and Ai have another litter ..."
Andarien looked around. "I don't see them anywhere," he sighed.

Miyuki also looked around suddenly, when her brother mentioned not seeing them. As he said, there was no hide nor hair of them anywhere. Where could they have gone off, now that she thought about it, did she want to know?
"They probably won't appear until they're good and ready..." Miyuki murmured.
She wonder if she should prepare things for Ai to nest with.

"Well, they can take care of themselves, I guess," Andarien sighed. He looked around for Zeus and spotted him curled up at the base of a tree, napping. Rather than bothering him, he looked around. "What are we going to do now?"
"Try relaxing a bit," Earendil chuckled. "We've already been going most of the day, take a break."

That sounded like a good idea, especially since Ponydash was already resting and Yasu looked like he could use a rest himself.
So maybe it was time for a break.
"We might as well..." Miyuki murmured, "How about it Yasu, feel like taking a break?"
Maybe Yasu would like the nap too.

"Didn't you say something earlier about practicing your archery?" Kaito spoke up with a grin.
Andarien frowned, but before he could say anything, Iorlas spoke up.
"Not around Amir, please," she said quickly. "Andarien, I know I've not seen you do much of it, but I've heard you complain about your lack of accuracy and I'd rather not put him in more danger than necessary."
Andarien blinked. "Hey!" he protested. "I'm not that bad!"

"He's not, as long as we're behind him everyone will be safe," Miyuki added, "Which is where anyone should be when an archer is practicing anyways."
One would have to try really hard to shoot behind them, and she was sure enough of his skill to not do that at least.

"And Amir hasn't shown any signs of walking yet, so I'm sure he won't wander in the danger zone," Daeron pointed out. "And even if he does, we'll have plenty of time to catch him."
Iorlas still didn't look too sure, but she nodded anyways. She did shuffle a bit closer to Amir, who was sitting on the ground in front of her.
"I don't have my archery stuff with me anyways," Andarien pointed out. "I'd have to go back to the inn to get it."

Lin chuckled, she could see the beginnings of an overprotective mother. Though it was sweet that Iorlas had jumped into so easily.
"True," Miyuki murmured, "There really isn't much for any of us to do since everything is back at the inn, so this really is just a break moment."

Andarien looked relieved, and he sat on the ground and leaned against the same tree as Zeus. Zeus's ear flicked when he heard Andarien sit, and he opened his eyes and looked up at his master.
"What do you think, Zeus?" Andarien grinned down at the Jolteon. "Up for a bit of practice of your own?"
Zeus bounded to his feet, his fur crackling as he took a ready stance.
Andarien chuckled. "I'll take that for a yes."
He spent the rest of the afternoon tossing up bits of rock or wood that were lying around and having Zeus (and once he had rested, Ponydash) train his accuracy. In the meantime, some of the others began to learn the language of the Fire Elves from Uruloki, who, it turned out, was an excellent teacher.
When evening came, they all headed back to the inn for a good night's rest, with the exception of Daeron and Iorlas, who instead headed back to Ahkshi's clinic.

Ai and Eon had not come with them, in fact they were still missing, but since they had pulled the same stunt when Yasu and Zeus were conceived Miyuki wasn't worried.
Except the part where she was pretty sure new babies were going to be involved and she hoped they wouldn't be gone for too long. She also hoped no one would freak out seeing two odd Pokemon run around.
Sliding off her bed and packing her things away just in case they were going to move to a camp site (they still needed to talk to Kyrie though), Miyuki got ready for her day. She hoped they could move to the camp site soon, just so that if (when) Ai began to nest it wouldn't be under a bed. They would never be able to get her out otherwise.

By the time Miyuki made it out to the dining room, Earendil and Lin were already there, along with Shiro, Andarien, and Wren, who had woken extremely early and gone for a run.
"Good morning, Miyuki," Earendil greeted his daughter cheerfully. His colour was much better than the day before, and he was back to his regular self. "We were just discussing what we might do today."
"I'm personally of the opinion that we should find Kyrie as soon as possible and ask her about camping outside the city," Shiro spoke up, leaning back casually in his chair. "The sooner the better, I think."

Miyuki agreed, though it was more for personal reasons, so she was curious as to why Shiro thought so too.
Fortunately it was Lin who asked, "You think so?"
Lin thought it would be good to get out there as soon as possible. If for no other reason than to give everyone more room.

Shiro blinked in surprise at the question. "You don't?" he asked in reply. "Every day we spend here requires more of Kyrie's money, and considering the task she's agreed to do for us, that's not fair. Besides, with the upcoming celebrations, there may be travelers coming to the city who might really need the rooms we're occupying. Besides that, what can we really do here in the city? We need space for training, experimenting ... everything. Not to mention we're only a few days away from the New Year, and I don't know about you but I'd rather not have to stay up all night if I don't have to. I value my sleep."
"All valid points," Earendil conceded. "And that way, Daeron and Iorlas won't have so take up unnecessary beds in the clinic either. More room for emergencies, if the need arises."
