Rikki Tikki Travi Gidget beams an appreciative smile and takes a bite of the food placed before her. She swallows and answers, "I'm sorry, I completely forgot about giving you a card or something. I can show her where it is though. My brother actually works there. As far as looking after Trinity goes, I'll do my best. I wont let that big jerk get his sparky hands on her."
Gidget takes another bite of the food, but as she chews her mind begins to go into a haze. She swallows slowly and asks Mrs. Smith, "Is something here broken?" "I could take you guys straight there, just show me where to go or is it strict about letting normal people in. I'd be more than happy to take some advice about Trinity and anything I could do to help her." She pauses as she heard her question, she thought it was weird that she was asking about that. Was there something broken that she wasn't aware of? "Broken? No, as far as I know that is. Then again... it's an old house there's bound to be something wrong with it and it may have not become an issue. Why do you ask?"

Leviathan had changed in the past day and night, his skin now a black scald across his features, his hair wire, mesh like and standing on end at all moments. Veins, thick and pulsing, ebbed at the corners of his sleep deprived eyes. Every so often, his hand would twitch, literal crimson running the full length of his lithe form, himself muttering to himself. The three, Rod, Blitz and Lev, sat in the house that only the previous night before Lev had spoken to Trinity, dragged her mind toward his will. But now? Now? "Rubbish.." Leviathan muttered through a synthesized voice, more machine now, more crude god then man. "Aye, 'tis.." Rod spoke in his high accent, sitting on the far end of the couch the three now stooped upon. "Utter...RUBBISH!" Leviathan roared, all the lights in the home exploding, turning the glass lights to vapor, the central powering system fried within the home. Lev cradled his hands together, putting his face in them. "I need to sleep. We, need to sleep boys." Rod scratched at his lips, his metal fingers mutilated and changed. He had been eating some of the gunk, some of the power ooze off of the corpses.. Steel had begun running the length of his jaw, and even his hair was a tint of silver, changing ever faster. Blitz was the only one who hadn't eaten any, staring out into the nothing that was the wall to the front of them. Then Blitz spoke for the first time in almost a day. "I'll keep watch." Lev nodded, and immediately dozed off, Rod following suit.

Lily quickly rose to her feet as he spoke, urging her to hurry along. She never said she'd go home with him, but things where beginning to look a tad bit scary around the park. Strange noises where sounding all around her, and to be honest it was making her a tad jumpy. So she crossed her arms protective over her chest, not caring to mention to the man that money was no problem with her, she'd never worry about money again.
"This isn't necessary. You can just take me to the closest hotel. I'd hate to be intruding in on your home." she said loud enough to reach his ears, but quiet enough she could hear the sounds around her. The darkness feeling like a stranger, wrapping his hands around her throat and strangling the very light from her eyes..
She followed him silently, hurrying her footfall to catch up with him. Something wasn't right, something was.. off.. She shook her head, closing her eyes for a second, and at that moment her mind was overtaken by images of death, her ears ringing with the screams of dead. She gasped for a moment, snapping her eyes open. Everything was normal again. Wh-wh-what was that? That wasn't... I never have them awake.. she thought to herself for a moment, every since she met those who where infected by the meteor, she noticed her own abilities had been changing.. altering.. coming on stronger. They don't want my help.. They don't need me. So I'll just keep it too myself. she finished her thoughts, now walking along side Alabaster, she looked over, noticing right off hand the change of his eyes. Wasn't his eyes closer to blue, maybe even purple just a... nah...

Stopping as he crossed the rusty rot iron fence that marked the boundaries of the park he turned towards Lily and smiled. “Intruding, that is just poppycock! You wouldn’t be intruding. It isn’t often I get guests, let alone ones as beautiful as you.” Rubbing the top of his head he laughed nervously as he closed his eyes. “I would take it as a personal insult to myself if you refused to come.”
Sensing something move off to his left and Lily’s right he reached into the inside pocket of his jacket and pulled out a small shining silver handgun. Pointing it roughly in the direction of the movement he saw he gulped. “Lily, go, down the street to the left. House number 453, get going now!” He yelled as he pulled the trigger. An instant later all sound was lost as the gun went off, the slug burying itself in a tree not even three feet to Lily’s right.
Moving back towards the fence Alabaster looked around. Frankly, he didn’t care if he revealed himself to Lily right now; all that mattered was her safety. After all, no one would want a dead slave would they? Kind of took away from the curb appeal. “Show yourself whoever you are. You’ve got until the count of three before I start blowing the s**t out of everything in the area!” Reaching inside his jacket he produced yet another handgun.

Lily gasped at the sound of a twig breaking. Then the ruffle of leaves, followed by the sound of breathing. Something, or someone was definitely there. She looked at her new made friend, him pulling out a gun and screaming at her to run. The sight of the gun reminded Lily of her own little 25. safely tucked away in her pocket. She nodded, making a dash towards the direction of the mans house.
Once she was a safe distance away she stopped for a moment, gasping for breath her mind began to tell tales to her once again. Seems like this day is getting worse by the minute. she thought to herself as she began to look around her nervous to even breath. Her steps where shaken, her mind rattled. Then she heard the gun shot. Gasping loudly she turned to look in the direction of the park, nothing visible to her eye.
Lily sat down on the curb, watching the shadows intently, waiting, she knew that Alabaster had told her to go to his home, but she had forgotten the numbers in the mad rush of things. Ten minutes. If I don't see him in ten minutes, I'll go.. I'll find a hotel.. I'll call Gidget.. she knew that she could trust the girl. And for some reason she felt like she could tell Gidget anything. As her mind wondered, she closed her eyes for a second longer then she wanted, more images flashing behind her vision. A woman begging for her life, only to have it smoked out by electricity.
"Leviathan.." she gasped, surprised she was still have visions of the man. He must be doing something that he shouldn't be doing. The place in her vision looked like a abandoned building of sorts. Having large open space.. She watched the area of the park again, torn on what to do. She was broken on going back to check on her new made friend.. Or seeking out the Lightening Terrorist on her own.

Shane helps Annie up, concern paints his face. He looks to the ME and asks, "What did you bring me down for Doc? There has to be something you need a biologist for."
The ME nods and points to a microscope. "In there," he calmly states, "is a sample of the residue found in the bodies. I am merely a man who knows anatomy and death. It's people like you who handle the little things that make life."
Shane walks over to the microscope and examines the residue on the slide. It's a strange shade of green, one that he can't place a name on. The stranger thing is that the substance is moving. The cells within it are alive. He bites his bottom lip and ponders what he is looking at. It looks familiar, but he can't quite put his finger on it. He stands back up and looks toward the ME inquisitively. "Was this substance on the bodies, or did it come from inside of them?"
Dr. Acula thinks for a moment before answering, "More like it was being produced by the body for a few moments after they died. A secretion I would call it. From where I cannot say."
He looks over to Annie as an idea strikes him, "Excuse me Annie, but could you please hand me that flip-folder of DVD's on that table beside you?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Almost like a dog sniffing out something interesting, Gidget slowly rises from her chair and heads into the kitchen. "Something in here, isn't working. It's not working like it should be." She says in a flat tone.
She produces a small multi-driver set from her pocket and stares at the stove. Gidget's eyes become glazed over as she approaches the dials beside the burners, "The problem is here. Sometimes it wont work, something's slipped." She reaches into another pocket and pulls out something that looks like it comes from a Sci-Fi movie prop set.
Gripping both of her tools tightly, the pupils of her eyes dilate to their full extent. She sees everything that is wrong, everything that can be done to fix it. She can see exactly how it works. With a feverishly inhuman pace, she uses her tools to pry open the knobs and panels leading into the inner wiring of the stove. The strange tool actually turns out to be a combination cutting/welding laser. Nothing outside of her work has her attention now. Her power is in control.
In just a few minutes, she replaces everything just as it had looked before she touched it. Her pupils contract and her expression becomes that of the bright and happy girl that Mrs. Smith had met the night before. She beams at the mother and says, "One of the wires was knocking around whenever you set something down on the stove-top. It shouldn't do that anymore."
Annie nodded, gaining her composure. This was not a time to be weak stomached, even if she felt like she was trying to move in a swamp in the middle of Summer. As she said, it felt like these people had ran across pure evil. Biting her lip she grabbed the flip-folder of DVD's and walked over to where Shane worked.
"I think while we work on this mystery we should also work on assembling a group of the strongest meta-humans available, who are acceptable to send, to stop this man," whispered Annie into Shane's ear as she leaned over and gave him the folder.
She stood up and leaned on the table turning her attention to Dr. Acula and asked, "Where did you find these people? What do you know about the persons themselves? Unlike Shane, I'm not a biologist, or even a doctor, and I cannot help with they hows but I can, perhaps, help piece together the why of this incident."
The doctor takes the DVD folder and rifles through the large selection of media as he speaks, "That's the thing, these people were no one of any real consequence. Transients, vagrants, whatever you want to call them they were squatting in an old building in the boondocks."
He gives a quiet "ah-ha" when he finally finds what he is looking for. Acula strides over to a computer connected to a projector. He loads the disc into the tray and double-clicks one of the many video files that lay within. A few keystrokes later and he is looking at a side by side comparison of the video and an image of what Shane is looking at. His eyes go wide with shock and awe. "This...there is no way this should be possible!"
"People of no consequence," Annie repeated under her breath, her blood beginning to boil. She was mull it over and said quietly, " 'Purification'?" when Shane gave an 'ah-ha' and the doctor came over.
She turned around and asked, "What is it?"
Mrs. Smith watches as the girl uses her incredible tools to fix up the stove. There was a problem with it but she felt it was so minor that she didn't bring it up.
"So, is that your power Gidget? To fix anything? That must be handy." Mrs. Smith looks to the clock, "Do we need to make an appointment at the facility?"
Shane displays what the computer shows on the wall. Shane begins his lengthy explanation of what he believes is going on.
"Okay, the video on the far left shows the cellular structure of a living human. Nothing out of the ordinary here. The video in the middle is the cellular structure of a meta-human. As you can see they are nearly identical with the exception of these cells have thicker walls and are in a state of nearly constant agitation. This agitation is what I believe to be the source of your powers. There are minute differences on the atomic level which dictates what powers they manifest into."
"Here on the far left is the gelatinous substance taken from our three Does. The cells in it are the same which are present in meta-humans. The problem is that they are even further agitated, and are still alive even after the death of these three people. Which would mean that what we are looking at is the purified source of meta-human abilities."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gidget shakes her head, "Oh no, I'll just have to let my brother know that we are coming so that he can let us in. As far as my power goes, I can do lots more than just fix things. It's neat, and I love it because I love to build things." Gidget walks over to the sink and runs water over her hands.
"There should be no problem with you coming into the facility that I can think of. I'm sure Trinity will feel a lot better with you there, don'tcha think?"

"So it is 'purification'," Annie replied coldly turning her gaze to Dr. Acula, "One, every being does have some real consequence to the balance of the world, and two, these aren't just any old vagrants or transients, they are meta humans. Perhaps selective elimination is a better term for it."
Tapping her fingers on her legs she asked aloud, "Is there anyway to tell how powerful these meta-humans are from this purified source?" Smiling at Shane she said, "If need be, I am willing to provide a comparative sample from myself, as from what you made it sound I am one of the more powerful meta-humans you have come across."

The ME says apologetically, "Ah yes, perhaps I didn't word that correctly. What I meant by that is that they weren't city officials or anything of that nature. Of course their lives are important. And you're right. The fact that they are meta-humans makes a world of difference as to why they were killed."
Shane shakes his head in response to Annie's question. "There isn't any real way to gauge the strength of a power. However, what worries me is the fact that the cells within this substance is still alive. They should be dead since there is nothing feeding them."
Shane's eyes go wide with fright, "Oh God, feeding...that's, oh no." He leans against the counter and puts his right hand to his forehead. He looks over at Annie like he wants to ask her something, but then quickly looks away again. He is appalled at himself for even considering what he was about to ask her.

Annie ignored the ME's apology and turned her attention to Shane. "What is it?" Annie asked him, narrowing her eyes at his appalled look. "I'm your assistant right? Among my special abilities, mind reading isn't one of them. Go ahead and say what you're thinking: I can take whatever you are about to say. I take openness a lot better than secrets, any day."

Shane swallows hard and stammers out, "I, um, have a theory as for what this could be for. The problem is the only way to prove a theory is to test it. Annie, I think this stuff can actually enhance meta-human abilities. I ask you to forgive me in advance because it was my scientific mind wanting to ask the question and not my human one. What I hesitated to ask you, Annie, was if you would be willing to ingest a small sample of this substance."
