Zach looked up from his/her spot at the bar warily. He/she hadn't had much interaction with Remus save maybe one or two times in the Battledome and wasn't sure what to think. Different people said different things and rumours are often conflicting with one another. Zach decided to quietly sip his/her drink until he/she could get a read off of him.

Emma entered the Waning Vestal in a blur of chestnut brown and royal blue, moving quickly to slam the door behind her. Something hit the aged wood, and the resounding bang could be heard throughout the room.

"As good as being undead gets." Vii said with a wink and sauntered off to the bar again, thirsty all of the sudden.

The elf took a few deep breaths, still leaning against the wood of the door. A careful eye would notice the spell she was weaving as she leaned, throwing a ward around the entire tavern, and a strong one at that.

Zach spun around and moved for the blade at his/her back but relaxed when he saw that it was Emma.
"What was that crash," he/she asked, lowering his/her hand. The black markings that had moved to the back of his/her hand receded when Zach relaxed.

"...you don't want to know." Emma muttered, her eyes closed and breathing heavy. The ward held, for now. A call sounded from outside the inn.
"You can't hide forever, witch!"

"... I think now I do," Zach heard the call from outside and stood up, prepared to draw steel. "What was that out there?"

"Somebody who is very, very angry." She replied through gritted teeth, a magical battle being waged. Her ward held still against the barrage of spells that the caster on the other side let fly. "But he will not enter as long as I draw breath."

Gallon had fallen back to sleep after hugging and welcoming his wife to the new night. His dreams were vividly depicted; a town full of people with smiling faces and casual attitudes. Good wholesome living communities, but in an instant explosion, the entire town caught on fire. In the moments before complete panic set in, he saw them as happy people feeding the flame. That was when the crash sent him out of his alcohol depleted mind, and into a state of light headed confusion. Thinking that no one should talk to a lady in that manner, Stranger began to get to his feet. Under the counter he took out an unmodified version of his favorite rifle, and pointed it at the door. "Well I guess we better keep you alive then," he said to Emma with a grin, his barrels steady at the entrance. In his peripheral, Stranger saw Vii and was watching to see how she'd react to a threat against the safety of her bar.

Emma looked at the rifle as if it were a cobra, a mixture of interest and fear in her eyes. She still braced herself against the door, and then she heard her attacker's next (and last) jibe.
"You've loosed a monster on us all!"
Her aura instantly changed from fear and anxiety to a quiet, cold fury.
She straightened, eyes blazing, and flung the door open.
There was a flash of violet, and the smallest glimpse of a face before her magic obliterated sight altogether.
When the collective vision of the room appeared, Emma was holding something very small in her hands. "Call me cliche, but it works.", she said cruelly as the newly transformed frog croaked.

"Was that the Malkavians?" Vii asked standing on the bartop and looking to the door. There was a frog in her bar, she wondered if someone wanted her to have the cooks prepare something with it. Exposing her fangs in a silent hiss, Vii signaled for her husband to do as he pleased. ★★★★★★★

"Worse. Wizard government." The frog made a bid for freedom, but Emma held it fast.

Question peered through the open door, his right hand shining. "Is everything alright? I saw some stranger go in here, heard shouting, and saw a bright flash."

"So... you turned a government official into a frog?" Zach eyed the frog warily and stood at ease. "I guess if you're good enough to get away with it... so what're you gonna do with the frog?"

"Quite alright now. We just had a little...situation."
She brought the frog closer hissing something that only supernatural hearing would pick up.
"Insult my husband again and I will fry you and eat you for an appetizer."
