Kyuubi glared back at Thorne. Scum! How could he be called scum. He kept his cool he didn't need to ravage Thorne. He knew Thorne could regenerate, but if he lost his cool Kyuubi would keep at it no matter how much he regenerated. He backed away. He tried to read what Thorne thought of him. He couldn't get anything. He only got the fact that Thorne wanted to beat him to a pulp. Not like he could. He had no idea what Kyuubi could do. He could burn his skin so whatever touched him was singed. He could harden his skin like rock. Kyuubi hadn't used his abilities to affect his own skin much but he knew he could do it. "Fine Thorne, I will leave" he hissed. Kyuubi started to walk away. Kyuubi knew about the 'murder'. He didn't think it could be considered murder. He shook his head. He walked away out into the nearby forest outside the school. Here he knew he could let out his rage if he needed to. He had done it before.

A few trees were on the ground. Pulled out from the roots or just torn off. Kyuubi laid on the ground panting. His head spun. He felt sick. He knew he let it all out. That was good. He didn't need to keep the extra rage from before and the way Thorne looked at him. Thorne had no real idea of what happened. He didn't know what Kyuubi went through to try and help Mitsukai. He stood up. He was tired. He fixed the trees around him. It took a while since he had so little energy left. He lay in the grass, he was soon asleep.

Ryuuki was on his feet, searching the room for the artifact. Who the hell could have touched it? No one could have entered this room! No one could have even picked it up without having their limb shredded! he thought to himself as he got down on the floor and started searching under the desk. Unless they have a cybernetic limb which could absorb the energy... but as far as I'm concerned I'm the only one in the world that can! he added to his thought as he stood back up.

Ryuuki sat on his bed, having given up. The rock was obviously not in the room. First I failed my mission by being transported here... Then I lose the artifact, which is what my primary objective was! he thought as he flopped his head down on his pillow. Ever since I came here, I've had nothing but misfortune! he thought, tears welling up in his eyes. Ryuuki was on the verge of crying, until he noticed it. He punched himself in the stomach with his cybernetic limb. Machines don't cry... and neither do I! he thought, wiping a tear from his eye. Ryuuki looked down on the floor, feeling hopeless. Silence had enveloped the room, save for the noise originating from somewhere down the hall. The silence lasted only a few seconds, before being interrupted by a soft mechanical whirring...

Ryuuki's focus shot up to the ceiling, where the noise originated. He stared in disbelief as the red object shot from the ceiling onto his lap, followed by a strange high pitched noise. "Spark!" Ryuuki thought to himself as he shot upward, lifting the small drone up with him. "Spark! What are you doing here!" he yelled, overcome with joy. Ryuuki paused for a moment though, and that joy suddenly turned into disappointment. "What are you doing here?" he repeated, this time taking on a more furious approach. "Spark! Now that you've followed me here... you can't go back." he said to the small drone. The drone hopped off of Ryuuki, falling to the floor. He scurried under the desk, followed by a few beeping and whirring noises. "Spark... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you upset..." he said as he bent down and peered at the drone from under the desk. "It's just... because of me, you're stuck here too..." he added, reaching out to grab the drone. Spark allowed Ryuuki to grab it, and Ryuki pulled it out from under the desk, setting it down on the floor. Spark scurried around in circles for a few minutes, before stopping in front of Ryuuki and bending down. A few whirring and clanking noises could be heard, and Spark's dome body opened up, revealing what was stored inside. "The artifact!" Ryuuki said loudly, overcome with joy.

Joe was immersed in conversation when Thorne ran into the room. Once he heard Thorne's voice, he instantly looked up. “What does he think hes doing here.” Joesph hissed. However, he sat there and watched the interaction between the two. He wanted to get up and punch Thorne in the face. However, what Mitsukai did was far worse.

“I did not fly away from you. You left ME!” Mitsukai screamed. Along with a strew of other mean screeches. Even as tears poured down her eyes, Joesph couldn't help but to smile. 'Mitsukai's back' he thought. Her face was flushed as she yelled. Her eyes shown with emotion. She wasn't a walking zombie. She was Mitsukai. Hopefully it'd last. Because, he wanted her back. That's all Joe wanted. He wanted his best friend back.

Joesph walked out of the cafeteria when she ran out. He followed Thorne's lead. He followed Kyuubi's lead. Freak, could Cory come on to? Mitsukai had so many people who loved her. Although, some, like Thorne, deserved for her to hate. The thing was, Mitsukai didn't hate Thorne. There was no way in hell she ever would, Unfortunately.

“You know, ales your planning on kicking the door down, your not getting in.” Joesph said. He glared at Thorne as he punched in the combination to the lock. He then stepped in, shutting the door in Thorne's face. Maybe Thorne was smart enough to realize the door was unlocked. Probably not.

“You know, I hate that kid.” Joe said as he pulled Mitsukai in his arms. He soothed back her hair and forced her out of her position, to where she was fully leaning on Joe. “And he's going to be stepping in here any minute, so I suggest to let go of his jacket.” Joe was surprised when Mitsukai let out a small giggle. It was definitely contradicted by her still flowing tears. “If you hop in the shower he wont be able to see you cry.” Joesph whispered to her, and she nodded. She then walked towards her bathroom, still barely breathing and totally bawling tears. But soon rushing water started.

While she bathed, Joe quickly cleaned up. He placed on her recent paintings in a pile in a corner. He grabbed the paint and everything else scattered on the floor and threw the junk in a drawer. He'd clean the room later. However, it just needed to look good now. He then grabbed a pair a distressed skinny jeans, a dark navy blue shirt, a black push up bra, and some matching panties and placed them on the bathroom sink. She was going to look good when she faced him! He then walked out, leaving the door wide open for Thorne.

“You better not hurt her any more than you already have. OR I will kill you. Seriously.” Joe threatened and walked out. Mitsukai was going to have some dignity during this. And Thorne was going to have none. He was scum, so it was deserved.

Nikky's room was silent. The alarm clock wasn't about to go off. She wasn't sleeping. She was reading, anything she could get her hands on. At the moment, she was reading from 'An Anthropologist on Mars'. She'd start each page, trying to read aloud. "I-e-e ha-a-duh juh-ssst rhee-tuhur...." She tried to put the sounds together, and it frustrated her to no end. She could only piece so many together. She knew what the sentence had said, and re-read it mentally. ' 'I had just returned from a few days with Stephen Wiltshire in July'....See how hard is that? Not at all....but why can't I say it aloud?" She thought to herself, frustrated, sad, and depressed all at the same time. She glared at the words on the book that so easily eluded her vocalizations. A split second later she had thrown the paperback against the wall across from her bed. It wasn't right, it wasn't fair. She knew all of them, she had spoken quite often before. She wished she had never even gone outside on parent's day. It had grown to be unbearable over the past couple of weeks to even go to class, or sit in the cafeteria during mealtimes. She always heard the words of others, some stood out against the rest of the din. She despised their ability to vocalize what they wanted while she was forced to resort to the whiteboard or her own speech bubbles she had made with her powers. It made her feel stupid, useless, not herself.
Nikky sat on her bed for a few more moments before getting up slowly and picking up the abused book and setting it on her night stand. As soon as the book was set down, she turned to her dresser and closet and rummaged around for something to wear. She settled on something comfortable before changing into it. She pulled her hair out of the bun she had put it up in after taking her shower the night before, wavy tresses falling down. She didn't really pay attention to her appearance more than her hair anymore, and barely wore makeup. Why bother? She didn't think it really mattered anymore. Unplugging her phone and ipod from their chargers and sticking them in her purse, she was nearly ready to head down to grab some breakfast. Last thing to do was to grab her bag on her way out her room. She took an obscure path to the cafeteria, trying to avoid as many people as possible, not wanting to risk the chance of having to be in a conversation. She wound her way to a vending machine outside the cafeteria doors. She pulled out some money to get a pack of pop-tarts for her to munch on before her first class started. After she watched it drop to the bottom of the machine, she saw Mitsukai storm out of the cafetieria, soon followed by Kyubbi, then, woah, wait a minute...Thorne? And, last, but not least, Joe. She missed something....and mentally cursed herself for wasting time with the book instead of coming down to breakfast. Mitsukai had grown distant to her, and even though Nikky knew it, she felt as if she couldn't do anything about it, or anything else for that matter, no one would hear her. She reached down and grabbed the packet of strawberry pop-tarts out of the machine and walked down the hall, wiping a tear from her eye. .

Brianne had taken her time getting to the cafeteria, she was still sleepy, and wasn't in a rush. She eventually made it through line, and was looking around for someplace to sit when she saw her brother, and the little cootie queen sitting beside him, with a giddy look on her face. Typical Mer. Why did she have to like her brother, of all people. Seriously...there were plenty of other guys at the school. Taking a deep breath, she put a smile on her face as she walked towards their table. She counted her steps to keep her concentrated on making there without trying to scowl, or think of terrible things to do to Mer. '29...30...31...' She smiled at her brother as she was closer, reaching her free hand out to ruffle his hair. "Told you I'd be here this morning..." She said, wording her sentence carefully, for she was about to say 'I told you I was going to eat breakfast this morning.' And she didn't need Mer twisting that into something it wasn't. She took a seat across from her brother and...her...before opening her apple juice. She really didn't have much to say, like her brother, she was quiet most of the time, and kept to herself, but she also tended to avoid Mer, and at the moment she was trying to avoid glaring holes into the girl. Instead, she ate her diced hashbrowns after putting Tony Chachere's and ketchup on top, picking up a piece of two up on her fork. She had the same obsession her brother had with cinnamon, except with Tony Chachere's, it was a blend of spices, perfect for chicken, potatoes in general, fried eggs, and a whole bunch of other things. The spices burned slightly as you ate, but it wasn't overwhelming, or too little, just right for her.

I'm sick of the things I do when I'm nervous
Like cleaning the oven or checking my tires
Or counting the number of tiles in the ceiling
Head for the hills, the kitchen's on fire!
I used to rely on self-medication,
I guess I still do that from time to time.
But I'm getting better at fighting the future,
"Someday you'll be fine"
Yes, I'll be just fine.

Joesph couldn't help but to smile when she used the speech bubble. Hanging out with her was already brightening up his day. She was just so vibrant. “So, I'm assuming you want the dirt on this morning huh?” Joesph asked. He smirked at Nikky and ruffled her hair. He then launched in the story.

Joesph started by Thorne's entrance, pulling Mitsukai in his arms and acting all freaky. He explained how Thorne supposedly thought Mitsukai was dead, and must have known what happened. He then went over the fact that if Thorne knew were Mitsukai was, he should have text-ed Joesph the location and they could have saved the day. However, Thorne was a selfish a*****e, and kept all that information to himself. Joesph then continued onto the scene this morning, where Mitsukai screamed at him because he claimed she had left him! When we all knew that Thorne had left and broken her heart.

Joesph carefully recited Mitsukai's screams as if it was a play he had memorized. He paused at the murder part. “I think something happened that day she went missing, something that caused her to kill someone, and that's what ruined her.” Joesph whispered, knowing full well how Mitsukai felt. He then rushed off that subject, not wanting to feel pitiful or think about Ellie. So Joesph continued his story finishing Mitsukai's speech and her running out of the cafeteria. He explained Thorne and Kyuubi were at her dorm. He even made sure to tell her about Thorne snarling at Kyuubi. “He obviously hates him, so I think Mitsukai went off to Kyuubi's dimension, but we already thought that didn't we.” Joesph nudged her, referring to her hypothesis Nikky had come up with before she lost her voice, the one about Mitsukai's whereabouts the day she went missing. Joesph went on and explained how Mitsukai was bawling tears in her room. Then how Mitsukai is now taking a shower so she can look sexy and fierce when she saw Thorne again, in order to regain her dignity. Finally, Joesph finished up his story in how much a jerk Thorne was and how much Joesph hate him. Although, Nikky already knew that.

By the time Joesph finished his story, they were already at Nikky's first period. Joesph was so preoccupied with telling the story to its full complexity, he hadn't noticed the other students in the hall. The gossip was now growing, all due to Joesph. However, Joesph wasn't even paying attention to them. Instead, he looked at Nikky in her eyes so he could talk about something important dealing with her. He lowered his voice, so only she would hear.

“Hey, I know that the whole no talking thing is a touchy subject, but I have an idea to help you get your voice back.” Joesph mentioned. He saw how Nikky's eyes changed at the mentioning of her problem. “Just, please come to my dorm after school. I have something to give you.” Joesph added. He then kissed her forehead and gave her a big hug. “Bye babe.” Joesph said and headed towards his first period class.

The packet of poptarts was open, and Nikky was munching on one, pulling it apart instead of biting into it. Sure, it was more work, but it helped to keep her distracted. Her feet were leading her in the now familiar path to her first class, and she was letting her thoughts roam. She was glad that her teachers seldom called on her, especially now, but still, she wanted to hear her voice again. Even though she heard her voice differently then everyone else did, for the reverberations through the skull caused them to sound different to the person who was speaking. See, her thoughts got distracted! It was a good thing really, thinking of academic things instead of her lack of ability to speak. As she neared finishing, she heard a familiar voice and turned slightly to look at the source.
Joe had walked up behind her and had wrapped an arm around her shoulder, something that usually would have made her blush, but her mind had shifted away from trying to get him to ask her out to regaining her voice, take care of herself. He seemed a bit upset, and she figured that it had something to do to whatever happened to Mitsukai. She hoped her friend was okay, but Mitsukai hadn't let her into her downsized world, but she let Joe in. If he wasn't at her side, then maybe things were alright for her friend. Joe had said something, but what was it again..oh yeah, he was going to walk her to class. Nikky nodded her head as a response and offered him some of her second poptart. 'Has it been an eventful morning for you?' She asked, making her speech appear in midair, in her speech bubble. She didn't want to mention Mitsukai in particular because it might make him more upset.
She had, of course, apologised for whatever she said on parents day. She still didn't remember what it was, and hardly remembered much about that day before she hit her head, and even a bit from days prior to her accident. Her mom totally freaked when she found out what happened, but her father was the calm worried one. She ended up seeing them home early, for she didn't want them to think on the matter too much and to bring her home with them. Her mom had more important things to worry about, Nikky had been reminded about her pregnancy. She didn't know if she was looking foward to having a younger sibling or not. She was already an adult, there would be so much of an age difference between the two, and she heard her friend's stories about their siblings. She had her doubts. As they rounded a corner, she turned her attention back to Joe, so she wouldn't be rude. .

This morning was having a fairly frustrating start. She had been in the office for 2 hours, since 5 in the freaking morning, sorting out her schedule bull crap. She had to deal with the principal blabbering about the school and its exceptions. Her and her 'father' signed paperwork after paperwork. And in the end, she had a very shitty schedule.

Ellie walked out of the office grumbling. How was she supposed to get closer to Joesph is she could only score 3 classes with him? This plan was slowly turning into an epic failure. Oh well, When Elizabeth Jones made a plan, she did not fail. How else would be have easily taken over the identity of Juliette so easily? This was going to work. She was finally going to have her big brother. Even if she had to knock that scum Mitsukai out of the way.

It wasn't like Ellie hadn't appreciated Mitsukai. She had kept her brother practically alive for the past four years. Nonetheless, it was Ellie's turn to take over her rightful place. Didn't kings kill spot holders? That idea sounded juicy good. Ellie was now in the actual halls where the classrooms were, and she saw Joesph. Maybe this day was going to turn around quite nicely.

“Excuse me.” She called out, trying to keep her cool. She wanted to squeal and hug him. However, she had to play this safe. “I'm totally lost, Power Control Beginners, where is that?” Ellie asked in a false ditzy voice. The idea of helping a lost first year seemed to make Joesph thrilled. “Yea, it's right next to my class, I'll show you.” Ellie smiled, and went into step with her brother. “So, I'm Juilette, what's your name?” Ellie introduced herself. It was something she was still getting used to. Even have three years, she hadn't gotten fully adjusted to her new identity. She was far more comfortable with this one than all the other bodies she switched into tho. Those were just gross. "I'm Joseph" Joe said, beaming at Elllie.

Ellie watched her Brother in awe. It was so different looking at him in her real life body. He was so much more vivid. It was incredible. She knew she'd never be able to explain to him that they were related. However, they'd turn into friends closer than him and Mitsukai had ever been. Ohh, the thought sent shivers down her spine.

“well, here it is.” Joesph said. Ellie smiled at him, whispering thanks and walked into the classroom. The few students congregated in the room were horrible. Majority of them were immature Freshmen and Sophomores. This obviously was their realm. Of course, Ellie wouldn't be staying in this dumb class for long. Once she proved her power level, they'd switch her to Joesph class. Then she'd have four of his classes. That would be truly wonderful. Ahh, this was a start of a beautiful friendship.

Feeling hopeful, Ellie walked towards a middle desk and sat down, awaiting the start of class. The whole wait, she tapped her fingers on her desk and daydreamed. This was such a wonderful school. She had such a wonderful brother. She'd probably even make wonderful friends. Well, maybe.

Adam laughed at Daina's response. Her reply was almost too automatic, as if she had known he was going to say it. Or, she had memorized the songs. "I'm happy to see another fan of the Genetic Opera, it's much too rare." At her request he sat down on the picnic table, lifting up one foot onto the bench and letting the other dangle over the grass. He looked back at her as she continued to speak, and a smile spread on his face when he noticed he had to look down at her. It wasn't a major height difference, he was only slightly taller, but for some reason it amused him. He assumed it was just because Daina always held herself so high, he had thoguht she was taller than him. After looking at her iPod he figured right away that she had a collection at home. "I saw it in a public showing once. It's much more amazing than the DVD itself. The atmosphere is intense." Adam poked her side playfully while he spoke. "Though I'm sure you have a whole collection. soundtrack? DVD? .. Maybe even some posters?"

If you want me, a cherry on top, the pick of the pack,
The cršme de la crop.
If you want me you better do better than that tonight.
Oh, Oh.
If you want me, it takes more than a wink,
And more than a drink and more than you think.
If you want me you're gunna have to break the bank, tonight.
Cuz some don't have the patience, some call me high-maintenance
But you pay the bill, cuz, that's the deal.

User ImageNikky Celeste Darling

Nikky nodded when he asked if she wanted to know what had happened that morning. She listened with interest as he explained what went on, and obviously he hated Thorne now. He didn't exactly try to cover up that fact either. She thought Thorne leaving had something to do with Mitsukai's depression lately, but at the mention of a murder, it seemed as if it was just the cherry on top of the situation. She processed that information and figured that Mitsukai wouldn't have killed anyone on purpose unless it was a matter of life or death. Now Nikky was even more serious about going with Mitsukai and Kyubbi if they have to go back to his dimension to fight. She wasn't going to leave her to die if she could help it. She looked around momentarily and noticed that they seemed to attract a flock of eager gossipers, and she was tempted to make a brick wall suddenly appear to block them from being followed. As it was, she cast a glare at a few of them before looking back at Joe.
Joseph was suddenly looking her in the eyes, and they had reached the entrance of her class. She could tell that he had something to say, so she listened intently. At the mention of her speaking problem, her eyes became sadder. She had been trying so hard over the past weeks to be able to form at least one word that sounded right. His dorm? After school? She started to think about just what could he possibly have that could help her talk again, but before her brain wandered too far, he kissed her on the forehead and hugged her. She blushed ever so slightly, mind blank for a second or two before she realized that he had walked off towards his class. She then turned and went inside the door to her class and found her usual seat, and sat down, thinking again on what Joe might have to help her .

Daina smiled up at Adam as he laughed. "Well, you know what they say...The Genetic Opera is good!" She repiled, quoting the song, Bravi, as he sat down beside her. The way he decided to sit was different, but it suited him. As she had her head tilted up to look at him, she thought that, if they were standing up, her head would reach about just below his chin. He'd be able to rest his head on top of hers. "Ah...well, the first saw the awesomeness that is Repo, it was online. As soon as I watched the whole thing, I knew I had to get it. Unfortunately, I haven't seen it in a showing...but I would love to." She said before he poked her. It tickled more than hurt, and she let out a small laugh she had tried to hold back. That made her blush. She pushed some of her bangs behind her ear as she looked at her lap momentarily. "Uh, no...I just have the dvd, soundtrack, and this bag....but I'd love to have a poster or two..."

School had sucked a lot less than Archimedes would have thought. He hardly spent days alone anymore. Normally being alone is what he would prefer, but now when he ran into Cadence or Cory, it wasn’t like he detested their company. It was almost nice. Having maybe-friends allowed him to let go a lot more in public, especially in drama class (which he still wondered why he took, but whatevs). Life in school wasn’t as much suck with friends. Actually, if he thought back, he’d remember that this was true back when he was younger, too. He used to have friends — best friends, even — and school was much more bearable with them than without them. Stress seemed like a foreign concept to him in the last few days.

He’d acted out more recently, too. Less with skipping classes and more with causing hell in class. This also led to an upwards in detentions and ‘calls to home.’ Though what the office didn’t know is he rigged the phones to connect to his personal cell than his parents (who he didn’t really have anymore), so when they called home he’d just pretend to talk in a really deep voice (for daddy) or a falsetto (for mama), and inwardly he’d be laughing his a** off. Then he’d make up some crap the next day about how he was berated dutifully by his old man and his a** was still sore. They gave him looks for that, but hey, it got the job done.

Him and Cory had gotten a student coffee machine smuggled in to the cafeteria, and Archimedes had taken the personal liberty of rigging it so it shocked anyone whose skin’s essence was under a certain percentage. It would auto-detect the age of someone by the levels of oil and firmness of a hand, and if it seemed to be over age 25, then it shocked them. Archimedes was quite proud of his little gadget. Pretty much, it shocked the teachers, but the students could handle it without any problem. They’d also contributed a sign over it, reading ‘Student Coffee Machine of Awesome’. It only seemed appropriate.

Homework, though. Homework sucked. It sucked a lot. Archimedes forgot how much he sucked at studying until he got his first pop quiz grade back. Yeah, not so hot. He tried to set aside two hours every evening for looking over notes (even though he had them all in his cell phone for tests; not cheating, just… helping). Though he mostly forgot. Or he told himself he forgot when he was really playing video games with Cory. It didn’t really make himself feel better for skipping out on studying, but it gave his mind an excuse to justify himself from, which was what mattered.

But waking up. Ugh. Why was waking up a required thing in life? Why couldn’t he sleep for a few more days.

Archimedes almost got angry, but then he remembered his sensitive alarm clock and how it exploded when he got angry at it. Okay. Nice, good alarm clock. Do not want to shatter. At least he’d learned this much from power control class. He’d been better at reigning in his emotions than normal, though he still slipped up a lot. Hey, hormones and all that. He was entitled, being a teenager and all.

Archimedes dragged himself out of bed and (gently) turned off the alarm before shuffling into the bathroom. Shower. Bane of his existence, but so needed. His stink was bothering even him this morning. He pondered over various things as he slipped off his PJ bottoms and boxers. His time with Meredith hadn’t been repeated since that day, which was… kind of good. She was a little peppy for his tastes. Probably the girl all the guys wanted or something (especially since she was a Legend). She hadn’t really given him much info on the whole Genius Legend thing as he’d wanted, which sucked. No amount of snooping through school files would produce an answer, either. It was complete a**. Kind of like his breath, he noted with a wrinkle of his nose. Brush teeth, too. Definitely.

He turned his shower on, waiting for the hot water to kick in. In the meanwhile, he looked at himself in the mirror. He needed to stop doing that so often, especially when he was naked. It just depressed himself. He wasn’t some gay douche who worried about his appearance or anything, but still. His body would make any proud man depressed. His ribs were like a xylophone, his pectoral muscles were kind of nonexistent, and his abs… Well, they existed if he flexed really hard, but otherwise just kind of flat and concave. He reminded himself of a Holocaust victim. That, and he was covered in unsightly freckles everywhere; it was like he was caught in a splatter painting accident. This was definitely not the body any fine young man— no, not man, woman would want. Or anyone. He swore he ate like a pig, but his stupid powers kept him at this state. He supposed if just didn’t use his electrokinetic powers for about a month he might put some weight on and be at a healthy range, but that just wasn’t an option. No amount of stuffing himself did any good, either. Forever a shrimp. Oh well. Light on his feet and all that. Fit into small spaces.

He looked upon his shower disdainfully before holding his breath and jumping in. Body wash while brushing teeth, shampoo-conditioner combo, multi-tasking madness! Under five minutes later he was out of the oppressive, wet chamber of doom, feeling slightly cleaner and much more disgruntled than before he’d entered. Showers were of Satan. He needed a sonic shower, like they had in Star Trek, where there wasn’t any real water used. Tha’d be nice. No water. Or maybe a cleaning charm like in Harry Potter. Anything else but that shorting-out, sdkflsjdfjlsdjf water. Ugh.

Clothes. Right. Chilly outside, so long sleeves probably would be a good idea. Archimedes pulled on a black long-sleeved tee, festooned with silver horizontal stripes. His special gloves were always a must now, even if they seemed kind of emo looking. Hmm. Did these jeans smell clean? …Oh, who was going to be smelling his a** anyway? He put them on, not detecting any foul odor, but not really caring anyway. His boxers showed over the tops of them, though there really was no getting around that since his pants hung so low. They were probably too big, but he didn’t really care. Jacket, jacket, jacket… ah ha, green hoodie! Perfect. His hair was drying slowly, which was evident by the way it was shortening from shoulder- to chin-length as it curled. How funny.

He nabbed his messenger bag, phone, wallet, and was on his way down for breakfast, which was always a nicer affair now that there was a coffee machine. Archimedes proudly marched into line for breakfast, in the hot non-vegetarian line, glad the food here was free, since he ate so much of it. He took three chicken biscuits, two breakfast burritos, three boxes of hash browns, toast, and some bacon. Bacon was always a must with breakfast, even if they cooked it until it was so crispy it turned to sand when you bit into it. He preferred his rarer and not crispy, but the lunch ladies weren’t perfect people. They always seemed alarmed at the amount of food he’d take, but of course didn’t say anything since they’d heard of his rebellious reputation already. After getting his food, Archimedes got his Styrofoam cup of black coffee from his lovely, lovely machine. Sweet, loving machine. He blew it a kiss as he balanced all his food in a to-go box (since there was too much for just a plate).

Now, where was Cadence or Cory? He didn’t see either of them in the school mainland. He snickered, ‘mainland.’ That didn’t make any sense. He saw Meredith, but… that would be awkward. He smirked, guessing that Cadence was probably eating outside by herself. Well, since Cory wasn’t up/ready/whatever yet, he supposed he’d go bother his other friend. He’d never had a female friend before, and it was nice to hand with someone who had as much of an edge as he did. As he exited the building carefully (since he was still juggling all his food and stuff), he noticed Cadence sitting by herself eating similarly to himself (just a much smaller quantity). ”Heeeeey! he called, nodding to her. The cold air made his wet hair seem a thousand degrees colder, but he could deal with that. Just create some electric heat with his gloves. “There she is!” he said dramatically as he plopped next to her. “What have you been up to, my darling, my sweet?” he joked as he unwrapped his first chicken biscuit, shoving half of it in his mouth. Mmm. Tasty.

‘bringggg, bringggg, bringgggg’

Great it was morning now. Cory was not ready to rise and shine. In fact, he was more in to hitting the snooze button. He would have, except that darn button always went off before he even fell back asleep. Therefore, Cory was left with the option of crawling out of bed or skipping school. Skipping school sound nice. However, he’d never be able to see Mitsukai if he stayed in doors. Not that he had seen much of her. She hid out all day except breakfast, oh how he missed her.

Cory got up and hopped in the shower. The water was a refreshing wake up call. In a matter of moments, Cory was wide-awake and dressing. He always picked his clothes carefully, hoping Mitsukai would see what she used to love. He may have been desperate but she was worth it. Cory sighed and finished getting ready. In 30 minutes, he was out the door and heading towards the cafeteria.

When he got in the cafeteria he frantically looked around for her. However, she was no one to be found. “Hey, idiot, she’s with Thorne.” Cory looked at the Junior. He was so tiny, and probably no match for Cory. “With Thorne? I thought he was gone.” Cory stated. The boy just rolled his eyes. Cory was really really going to hit him.

“Slept in to much huh? Thorne came back, Mitsukai had a mental breakdown, as if we hadn’t been expecting that, and she ran out. Thorne chased her and they’ve probably made up by now. I guess you lost your chance.” The junior finished his summary laughing. There was no way that could be true. Thorne was gone. Wasn’t he? Cory shrugged his shoulders and walked into line, quickly grabbing a plate of eggs and biscuits. He then headed outside, feeling like Cadence and Archimedes were there.

Cory wasn’t as pitiful anymore, and it was fully due to those to and Lorrie. They had given him something else to think about. If they weren’t playing tricks, they were just hanging out. Instead of studying, Cory played video games with Archimedes. Instead of crying over Mitsukai, he flirted with Lorrie. Instead of going to class, he hung out by the stream with Cadence. He even hung out with L and Adam. Cory finally had friends. It was a nice change.

However, his friends hadn’t taken over every aspect of his free time. He still cried over Mitsukai, you would think four years was long enough to move on. Well, for Cory it wasn’t. He still thought about her consistently. He was going to win her back. Nonetheless, if Thorne was back, there was going to be a problem. Hopefully he wasn’t, Cory couldn’t deal with that.

After a few moments, Cory had found Cadence and Archimedes. “Hey, do y’all think we can finish our food in less than 15 minutes. Class is going to start soon.” Cory knew Archimedes could, even with his plate size. Cadence was a slower eater and ate smaller portions. Cory ate fast, but no where near Archimedes speed. Normally, Cory wouldn’t care about being late. However, things were different this morning. He wanted to see if Thorne was back. Didn’t they have first period together? It had been such a long time since Thorne left. Wasn’t it like a month ago?
