This is my plague doctor bird man. Redlines anyone? Or ideas on how in the world to make the stairs look like stairs. Or perhaps any ideas for more interesting backgrounds...?
basically, any general critique before I get to colors and inks?

@ Nobodys Fault : hey your really off to a good start : ) I did a REALLY quick sketch of some red lines for you, For the stairs what I think was missing so that they looked like stairs was the sides... its weird looking at just lines your mind isen't sure how to interpret it. By adding the sides of the stairs a certain understanding becomes more evident. But you lacked the space to add the sides of your stairs with out it looking weird so I made your pic larger and centered your main characters face on the 3/4ths line. Now about the background I just did the first randome idea that came to my head but I'm sure you can think of more things : ) Hope this helps a little, and I really can't wait to see the end result! your pic is looking awsome so far : D!!!! http://i51.tinypic.com/2j439s9.png@ delicious: Omg I really love the hair!!! how much time have you put into your pic so far : D? @ sia: Another wounderful whip sia : D I can't wait to see it once its finished!

Sorry if it is a bit difficult to see, but I have just finished the line art of this pic (I hate doing line art). I have some thoughts whether to color it cell-shading or more towards realism~ :3 BTW This is a Gijinka of Flaky in HTF

hey I'm all for trying new art styles : D !!!!! I really love how your whips turning out so far!!!! I just can't take my eyes off it haha XD so you mentioned exploring a new colouring style, what kind of colouring style are you going for?

i.... i have no idea what im going for emo
i guess i am winging it and trying to find a style that doesnt take a million years, looks ok, and is fun (important!)

exploration : ) sure why not! I admire your will to venture into the unknown !!! XD I always need a reference for colours when I work, I can't really wing it like you do... but hey maybe I should try that as well XD

i think what i am going for is a really polished looking anime style.
actually getting good at drawing is too much effort and im not willing to invest the time and effort into doing studies and so on. so i guess ill just take a shortcut.
i know i know people say you shouldnt do that, but... rofl
