Derek wheeled a bed over and locked the wheels then he transferred Cassie over gently and replaced the pillow under her head.
"Julius..." Cassie said.
Derek held back a sigh. "I'll let him in." he said. he drew the curtain behind her, blocking all the equipment from view, and walked to the door. he opened it. "I wouldn't bust the door if i were you, you could have hit her again." his words were hard but quiet. he stepped aside, allowing Julius to enter. "She asked for you." he informed him.

Julius mumbled something under his breath as he passed by Derek. He walked up to Cassie's bed and he grabbed her hand. "I'm here Cassie." he said.

Cassie opened her eyes and tried to sit up. but a wave of dizziness forced her back down. she closed her eyes for a moment before opening them again and smiled at Julius. "I'm glad that you're ok." she said softly.

Julius smiled and kissed her gently. "I hope you feel better soon sweetheart..." he said softly.

Derek grimaced, he leaned against the door with his arms crossed.
Cassie smiled. "Don't worry about me, I'll be fine soon." she said.

Derek walked over a placed a hand on her head. his eyes closed for a moment and then he opened them. "You need sleep right now." he informed his daughter. "you should leave now." he told julius. "She will be fine."

He looked at Derek and then left the room without saying a single word.

Derek shut the door. "he didn't even say goodbye to you. tsk tsk." he ran a hand over her eyes to close them. "Go to sleep now." he said.

Cassie fell into a deep sleep almost immediately. Derek slumped into a nearby chair and rubbed his temples. "I shouldn't have listened to you...." he said.

Julius turned around and approached the iron doors. He raised his hand to knock but he quickly put it down.

Derek let out a big sigh with half a laugh. "you.... you are so much like her.... it hurts.... its not fair.... but you won't suffer like she did.... I'm sorry..." he whispered.

Julius couldn't move his arm, it was frozen. *Augh! Why can't I move?* he thought.

Derek stood up and walked to the door. he stopped and walked back, kissing Cassie on the forehead before returning to the door. he opened it and stepped out. "What are you doing, Julius?" he asked, closing the door.
