"Hello everyone" Fiora said quietly, she had just woken up and wasn't feeling too well. It was the start of a new day and she decided it was time for tea. Walking to the kitchen she put some water to boil then stuck her head out the door "Would anybody like some tea? I'm making some that's good for headaches."

Nils nodded, looking out the window. "... It is lovely." He smiled. "I can't wait for the new year..."

[Not quite. Leander stopped doing what Loki was trying to make him do, so Loki aborted his plan.]

"Mmm..."
Rhys slowly opened his eyes again, staring at the ceiling.
I appear to be back. It's strange... after that ordeal, I feel... wonderful!
Having awakened, Rhys could now feel the powers of the Ring coursing through his body. He felt much stronger now, much better than he had been. He turned his head around, a bit energetic from the energy provided by the Ring, and saw Tibarn and Amelia talking.
"I'm sorry to have worried you."

Amelia did not expect Rhys to speak up, and possibly not to awaken so soon. As such, as he apologized, she leaped up in shock as if someone had just placed a rather large tarantula in her lap. She looked relieved, instead of incredibly frightened (which would have been the case had said scenario occurred) as she turned around on the edge of the bed, seeing Rhys quite awake.
"Thank goodness!" she said, leaning down and hugging him. She sat back up after a moment, sighing inaudibly through her nose. "You really freaked me out... what happened, anyway? I don't think Guiding Rings usually knock out the user." She shifted her position on the bed to offer him more room to sit upright.

[[I'm not going to bother spending hours thinking up a story for where Valter was while I was gone. For all intents and purposes, Valter was sleeping. And reading. Yeah, that's it. I feel like it would be weird if I posted IC now, so I'm just not going to.]]

"Guiding Rings?" Rhys responded, unable to hug Amelia back due to being tucked in so snugly. "No, it wasn't the Ring, I don't think. It's genuine--I can feel it. How do I put this... have you ever heard of a near-death experience? I'm more frail than most people, and being in two wars has placed me into a few of those episodes. Worse yet, while spirits of those slain in battle may not do anything to affect the living, they CAN--and will--appear in the border between life and death. Thankfully, I think this could be the last time... for now, at least."
That's right... at the end of that dream, or whatever it was, the Malice stopped looking for vengeance. I must have cleared it out, which means I'm safe--at least, I'm safe until the next time I have one of these and I've been in a surprising number of fights.

Melethia went back into her room. There was a note on her door. It read:
Dear Mother,
I'm going to search for father. I heard you yell his name. Don't freak out about the Silver Axe and Tornado tome being gone. I took them. I hope I come back with him. Don't worry too much Mother. I can take care of myself.
Your son, Isamu
"Oh Isamu." She said in silence.

Amelia noticed this, and she loosened the blankets wordlessly. Near-death experience... she mulled this over. So, without any warning, Rhys passed out due to a near-death experience...? Wait, he nearly DIED?
"Let's hope that 'for now' means a very, very long time," Amelia said, folding her arms over her front. "I don't like the idea of you blacking out because the souls of the people you had to fight all banded together to try to get rid of you again," she said. Her expression was stern, but the concern was in her voice. "But you feel all right now... right?"

Tibarn blinked, scratching his head. "That... is a lot of 'I don't knows'..." He scratched lightly at his neck, working out some knots in his long hair with his fingertips. "But I think I got it." He scratched his nose and blinked as Rhys awoke, and stood up to give him room. "Well, anyway... I'll leave you two to your own devices, I just needed a few explanations. You two have fun, I'm going to check out the castle this afternoon, see if it's still frozen or whatever, see if we can't start moving back in there." He chuckled, waving to them as he slipped back out the door!
He picked up Ayra's present from where he'd put it outside the door and carried it back to his room.

Melethia sat down at the door. She hadn't gone into her room. She just looked at the note.
"No matter what Isamu." Melethia mummbled "Mothers will worry." She tossed the note to the side.

Ed was dozing off, her ham-hock only half-eaten. She remained curled up beneath the tree, a ball of black fur with meat and bone between her jaws. The wolf yawned, bouncing the bone slightly on her tongue before she relaxed. Ed was a bored, bored doggy.

"I'm fine now," Rhys responded, wriggling out of the blankets and getting back on his feet. "I think that, as strange as this may sound, those souls were more afraid of me than I was of them. They didn't want me to change, probably because they felt that if I DID, they wouldn't get another chance for revenge. I'd be out of their reach. So... I'm not sure how they did it, but they pulled me within their reach in one last attempt to beat me. But, it's over now. The malice has moved on. I don't think I'll have to worry about spirits of the dead for ages."
He frowned and put his arms around Amelia's waist. "Don't worry. I'm not going anywhere. We're as safe as we can be."
