Kurtis glanced around, trying to read their expressions. "Why didn't we leave while I was out? I'm not that heavy."

Now that Madeline was positive that he seemed to be in control of himself, she felt better about giving him a hug. "It was dangerous to move you while you were unconscious," she replied. "So where do you suggest we go?"

"Hold it," Kurtis interrupted. "Dr. Connor, we moved Tiki while he was unconscious. What happened while I was out? And who are you?" he added, backing away from Madeline uncertainly.

St. Cyrill nodded. "Start moving in two minutes." He headed down to the gate and called out to a guard. The closest guard came to the fence and they began to talk. As time ticked away, Richard prepared to go. Looked like St. Cyrill was opening up one side of the facility by talking to the guard.
Connor shook his head. "Now is not the time, Kurtis. We need to move. Can you walk?"

"I can walk fine," Kurtis asserted before testing it out and finding himself to be right. "So fine. Let's go, but you're all explaining what the hell I missed once we're out of here...."

Madeline stood up and crossed her arms. She looked over at Kurtis and said, "Call me Maddie, and I was trying to help you while you were unconscious." Alaric was quiet throughout this whole ordeal - she wondered what was going through his mind at the time. When did things get so crazy around here?

"Nice to meet you, I suppose that makes one person who did," Kurtis muttered darkly. "So where are we going?"

It was somewhat unreal. Alaric didn't bother watching the creature once the initial introductions were over... The sheer arrogance of it annoyed him. Worse yet, he still couldn't figure out what he wanted to! How could a parasite who thought itself better than everything be worth a life?
He stared at the wall, discontented, but too proud to show it. He still found himself thinking they should have left long ago. The more of a lead they had on everything following them, the more time they would have to properly study this.
Instead of speaking, he leaned against the closed door, crossing his arms, with an almost impatient look on his face. Truth be told, he could wait as long as need be, but he wanted to hint everyone else towards the desire of leaving.
Of course, they might be too busy studying that... Thing. He hoped that wasn't the case.

Madeline looked around and noticed that Alaric had opened the door (while the creature was talking). "Why don't we just find some mode of transport out of here and talk about where to go on the way there?" She looked around to see how the others took her suggestion. It seemed Alaric was anxious to leave, and Kurtis had already mentioned wanting to leave.

Excellent! St. Cyrill was a genius. If McMullard could make a run for it, he would clear the guards, in just... a... few... seconds... He'd have to jump through the fence and get into the building other ways - there would be time to break a window or some such, he figured. However it went, he was going for it.
He went into a full-tilt sprint, reached the fence - rolled - and came up on the far side, kept running, running, he was flying - he looked for a door, he needed to get in.

Connor nodded. "A solid plan. Tiki, give Kurtis a hand." With that, they moved out.
---
Luck was on Richard's side: the tower guard looked away at that moment to check his radio for word from the guard talking to St. Cyrill.
There was a door directly ahead of Richard.

Richard grabbed the handle as he came to it, dragged it open, and threw himself through with the force generated from that. He looked up, hoping the hallway was clear.

Luck was again with him: the hall was clear, although he could hear voices nearby.

Fortunately for the group, everyone was still running around, so there was no one to stop them from leaving. "So does anyone know of a good place to head to? Possibly a place with a lab?"

"Labs later, escape now," Kurtis suggested.
