Some Might Say... Maybe. It was just a total throw off that something like that should be what impedes me. I mean, I was expecting rejection, as a pessimist and all. ...The Saddest of Pandas

If this was some kind of awesome movie, and my arms weren't sticks, and I was in your situation, that would be where punches would be thrown. But I'm not, so...
Seriously, there are kids in sixth grade that go out in my town, and it's not like the inner city or anything. Yeah, it only lasts for two weeks, but it's not like it ends horribly. It just doesn't last.
Though, you're not in sixth grade, so her parents might be thinking "OMG PREGNANCY". Which is silly, because you're probably smarter than that.
You could try warming up to her parents. Though, that could fail.
Excuse me if I ramble, my brain cells start evaporating as it gets later.
Now, if I showed you a picture of some old guy who looks oddly like Colonel Sanders on a minigun, would you cheer up a little?
Honestly, I'd agree with Puppet on this. Be persistent. I'm German, so being stubborn is in my blood. (As well as heavy drinking. Seriously, German and Irish here.) Just let fly. Don't take that lying down.
Woah, it's like I'm stoned or something, I'm rambling so much.

OMG I heard that if you say something bad is going to happen to you out loud like I'm going to lose fifty dollars or I'm not going to be able to go out with dadadah then it might actually happen! *got completly off topic* that's creepy...
neeway maybe that's your problem not everything is going to be crash and burn sometimes bad things happen to good people but if you always expect them then when something good happens or somethig you werent expecting happens you end up even more hurt than was necessary

Some Might Say... @Waveord 1.) wow, I think all of those circumstances apply to me. (Not awesome movie, arms=sticks, in my situation) 2.) Yeah, I know, that irks me, too. 3.) That is a possibility(The her parents expecting that part, not me actually doing something like that) 4.)*Shrugs* 5.) es fine, same for me 6.) meh? o.0 7.) Mayhaps 8.) Meh. @Puppet Well, maybe pessimist was the wrong word entirely. You see, it's more of a self esteem problem, really. I expect the worst possible outcome because I am too optimistic. I expect the best things andget crushed when it doesn't happen. And so i force myself to be pessimistic so that doesn't happen. ...The Saddest of Pandas

That. It gets to me when some punk twelve year old starts bragging about how he's had three girlfriends, or something dumb like that. He neglects to mention that each lasted for a week, before they found themselves unable to put up with his terrible personality. I would've said that to his face, but I'm the only real ally I've got on the bus when that happens. Panda, that's actually kind of smart to do. If you don't get your hopes out of the dirt, then where can they fall to? I mean' unless someone mistakes them for a football and punts them off of a cliff... People with higher hopes tend to roll with the punches when their hopes get let down, 'cause they can deal with it. Some people just can't, or they can't at the time.

Puppet, talking through the internet is different than actually talking to someone. It's like having armor. Same situation when I'm on the ice for hockey. My gear is my armor, my courage. They don't know who I am under the helmet, because they can't really see my face. On the internet, you can make another account and leave any embarrassing situations behind you. You can't do that in reality. If you mess up, it'll follow you.
Christ almighty, now I know why uber nerds spend all of their time shut in their rooms playing video games in distant worlds.

Which brings up the question...
Which you is the real you? The you of the internet, not afraid to voice their opinions and be heard?
Or the you in the real world, never being assertive or taking charge, always hanging back behind a friend?
Thanks for the paradox, Puppet.

If the news tomorrow is about some kid whose head exploded from thinking too hard, I want you to know...
It would be Durithill's fault.
But that brings up an entirely new point. It could be like being bipolar, only not as bad.

Some Might Say... *Yawns* I really should be in bed. People use the internet for different things. Whether to avoid being judged or to create a new them. I personally use the internet for fun and to have people to talk to that can't impact my real life with their knowledge of it. It also helps to not be talking to someone in person. There is no 'real you' as you can create any image for yourself. If you chose to act one way, that is you, no matter the circumstances. YOu can change you to fit anything you want, and whether you do or not is also a part of you. ...The Saddest of Pandas
