The leader suddenly stops laughing and his meniachal smile fades to anger. "What is this? What are you....." Closing up his wound the leader lets go and hurls Vlad to the ground. "I'll be back, mark these words!" He plunges into the dark and disapears.
Crawling back to Vlad Marie still can't move her legs and yet she somehow reaches Vlad. "Are you alright? Please tell me he didn't hurt you!" Marie asks very worried. "I'm so glad you're safe now." She calmed herself and clinged to Vlad.

Vlad looks down, "I'm OK, but look at you, what's wrong with your legs? What was he trying to do with the blood? Some kind of spell. Purification." Vlad casts a spell designed to remove anything foreign from his body.

Grabbing his hand and covering his mouth Marie said, "No! Don't use your powers! It will only make it harder to reverse this." Looking at her legs, "Oh, well I think I broke them but they will heal soon enough."

With regret on her face Marie admits, "He gave you a small amount of his blood. The blood that did this to me. But since you've only recieved such a small amount you will not become like me. You will most likely be fine, all you have to do is not use your powers until I can see what's what. Alright?" Marie asks with her soft tone and smile as she caressed his face with her hand.

"All right. I'll try not to. But let's get you taken care of first." Vlad picks Marie up and carries her back towards the castle.

Feeling embarassed Marie slightly blushes. "I'm sorry I couldn't do much. But on that last attack, what were you going to do? That seemed to scare him a bit."

Vlad chuckles, "The light and sound was actually a distraction. It summons a ray of disintegration from behind and just dissolves the target." He looks shocked, "Oh crap, if I did that you would have..."

"What?" Marie asked very curiously. "I think that the light must've hurt him, badly." She smiles as he carries her.

Vlad looks down into Marie's eyes, "Light, I'll remember that. Well you said you two are linked right, if he dies you die? I'll have to find another way."

"Vlad you need to do what ever you can to stop him and the only way to do that is to kill him." Marie looks forward to the castle. "So after I'm treated I need to begin looking at you."

Vlad sighs, he looks a little sad, "I know, but there has to be a better way. You've done so much for us, and for me, I'll find another way, I promise." He gives a chuckle, trying to lighten the mood, "We always seem to end up taking care of each other lately don't we?" He sees a bunch of strange creatures near the caslt walls, coveres in arrows, "Looks like they didn't catch our men before they made it within arrow range."

Smiling she replied, "Well maybe that is true, especially lately. Well It's nice to see that your men are very talented. Hopefully they will all stay in bliss." Marie said as she leaned into Vald's chest and felt the warmth of his body, hearing his heart beat was like a sweet lullabuy.

Feeling him hold her a bit tighter, Marie has forgotten all about her pain and what had just happened. "Don't worry I'm not going to sleep. To be honest, I don't sleep." She smiled and slightly giggled.
