"Yeah I was just thinking that. I was wondering if maybe Alec, Rex, Lauren or Chubbs would help out. Haven't seen most of them in a long while anyway..." With a big grin she turned towards Colche.

"Hear that Colche? Me and Pyroth are planning a party for the islanders." If anyone, Colche would definately be happy for a party. "And I'm gonna make sure there's lots of chocolate cake if you come."

Colche beamed brightly and nodded vigerously though there was a slight shy look in those big blue eyes as she spoke "Josh great" she puurred happily just the thought of the giraffe man that was her tutor made ehr rather shiverry, though what it was that made her that way was ratehr confusing.

Coming out of her own little dream world she beamed at Pyroth "party?" her ears perked happily, she loved parties, at one point parties were scary but things had changed and now she could be around big groups of people without being frightened. the cheetah in her hadn't infact introverted her as it might have, instead it had made her more willing to be around otehrs to be pet and spoken to. The little cheetah girl's perfect blue eyes danced happily as Awen spoke of the party "chocolate cake!" she quipped her tongue clicking in a very human like manner though it was swiftly followed by that deep fruity puurr. "I likes partys" she smiled her ears fluttering happily as she contemplated going to a party and seeing everyone again.

Pyroth nodded gratefully "Anyone you want to bring in to help feel free, I'm not exactly good at keeping in contact with people, good to know you have a few figures in mind. That will be useful." he flicked his ears back amiably and couldn't help but laugh at Colche's love for any and all parties. "Yep, as much chocolate as you can eat and lots of people to talk to." He didn't doubt that there would be decent attendance if only because so many people had so little to do on the island.

He didn't comment on this "Josh" though, simply because he'd never met him or even heard of him before.

To Awen he added "As soon as you have a date planned just tell me and I'll make sure to have things set up for then too."

Awen chuckled softly and nodded. "Well it seems like a good plan anyway. I'll slip a note under the door of your duplex if I don't find you, okay Pyroth?"

The manta rolled her shoulders and glanced over her shoulder. She should probably be getting back to the village soon. Her stomach growled loudly and she looked back to the others with a small laugh.

"I should be heading out. Gotta grab some food for my belly and all."

The manta slipped into the water and paused. "Colche, I'll leave a note for you too to tell you when the party is. Please be sure to bring Josh along, huh? I'd like to meet this learny-man of yours."

"Well... I'm off then." She waved to her two old friends and dove back into the cool waters.

Colche

Colche watched awen sink in to the waters, for a moment she was facinated, she seemed to remember that Awen had an aversion in the past to the sea. Perhaps taht was somone else? There were so many people on the island now she was starting to find if difficult to define one person from another. Still ehr head tilted back towards pyroth and she smiled gently her big baby blue eyes dancing happily at being with one of her oldest friends. Her innocent gaze turned to the water though and she waved "byes awen! Okies!" she puurrs watching as the light played on the waters surface and she was reminded of the story pyroth had told ehr so long ago "spirits" she giggles her gaze turning back on the cyote man. She didn't forget his lessons or the kindness he had shown her.

Pyroth nodded to Awen's question "That'd be great" and then watched as she effortlessly vanished into the waters. It would be interesting to see what she saw down there below the surface of the water, a place he had never been and could never really hope to go.

He turned his attention from the water to Colche, very surprised that she remembered his little story, a story he'd been told as a child. "You remember that?" he asked incredulously. "My family used to love stories, tales about the animals and the spirits of the land." Old stories they clung to simply because they always had. His short sighted grandmother would probably have just assumed he was following the old traditions in his current form and donning the skin of his totem animal. The thought made him smirk, if his totem animal was coyote, the trickster than Moreau must have been a shaman in disguise guessing so well.

"I could tell you some of the sillier ones sometime."

NEW RP

Pyroth had been through more ups and downs than he could possibly remember since his final transformation. Some days everything seemed too much to bear, his identity still unsettled, his future horribly uncertain, and other days things seemed bearable, even enjoyable, those were generally the days when he felt up to simply bounding into the forest and running for hours exulting in being free from the bounds of a body that had been rather ungracefully thrown into middle age.

Luckily for him, today had been the latter and since waking up he'd been jogging and running all around the island, from the cliffs to the borders of the laboratories, taking it all in, memorising sights, scents and sounds. In his mind this was /his/ territory, the coyote was definate on this fact, he went where he liked, did what he wanted and though the human longing for home was still there, he knew that to go back would be social suicide, no, here would do fine for now.

Either way, his winding travels took him eventually to the river, and emerging from the trees he casually trotted down to the running water's edge and padded through it till it was up to his ankles, following the river's winding path towards the sea. It was as if he was running on some sort of autopilot, letting his intincts do the walking while he took a back seat and relaxed, enjoying the sights. However, as such his movements were entirely canine and to anyone nearby he'd be unreckognisable as ever having been human apart from the necklace and feathers he wore, the tattoos faintly visible through his cheekfur and his human size.

She could do it... This was a war she was going to win! Emerwyn's confidence had been building over the past day. Something odd had happened after she had spoken to Joli. When she coughed up that phlegm, and saw that the blood was fading, a strange feeling came over her. Though she was still heavily ill, Emerwyn felt that a new tide was turning.
She should not be mourning the fact that Jerrick was alive!
She should be rejoicing!
And now, thoughts and plots were starting to form in her mind. She realized that though he was indeed alive, no one knew where he was!
And she may be the only one who could figure it out at this point. The books were back in New York, this was true, but she knew them so well. She could piece the puzzle together herself.

She ran along the river that day, letting the warm air caress her face. Her eyes closed, and words swam across her mind. Emerwyn hadn't felt this way in a long time. This was what she'd done so much in her 'human days.' It was what she was made for. Interperating the written word. Every word held a secret - in where it was placed among the endless stream of sentences, how it was written, when... and then she would figure out why.
These thoughts preoccupied her so that her deer-senses failed to pick up the very large animal trudging through the water. It wasn't until she opened her eyes that she saw it, and she stopped short in her tracks.

What in the world was it? It was so large... and what was it wearing? Was it some pet of the doctors?
Emerwyn's heart raced as she tried to place just what was so familiar about this big 'dog.'

Pyroth caught scent of Emer just as she caught sight of him and pausing in his lazy trot, he glanced back over his shoulder, more expecting a jungle creature than an islander. He didn't like having his back to anything human or otherwise though and turned to face her right away, a moment of confusion settling as he kicked his human powers of identification into gear. It was always quite a shunt going from seeing with your nose to trying to familiarise with your eyes, still it didn't take him long to realise who it was he had come across.

He frowned, flicking his ears back and tucking his tail slightly, still apologetic for his behaviour last time. There'd be no hunting Em this time around, he made sure to keep himself full, by keeping his hunger in check he kept his hunting in check too. So even the faint scent of illness was not enough to drive him to try and bring her down, instead he simply looked guiltily at his paws, not sure what to say.

"Hello there Em." he eventually settled for, a meek and feeble sentence at best but one that would do. He looked back up at her with his yellow eyes and smirked hopelessly "Sorry about chasing you last time." he held up a paw and examined it guiltily "I've got a grip on myself since then."

The light of recognition came to Emerwyn's eyes.
It was Pyroth.
It was astounding, and frightening. He was almost unidentifiable from a complete animal. But, there was something about his face, they way it moved, and the look in his eyes. Those were the strongest things. The things that made him still human.
And then, came a bolt of fear. Were they all bound to look just like that? And, was Pyroth even done? Was there one more needle awaiting him that would turn him completely animal?
Emerwyn did her best to shake this off to speak with her friend. Because, even though he had tried to kill her - on two occasions - she considered him a friend. It was not his fault.
She smiled at recognizing him and said, "Pyroth. Trust me, you are forgiven. You must excuse me - I did not recognize you right away."

Pyroth hadn't noticed the initial confusion on Em's face, along with his current shape had come a distinct disadvantage at reading normal human facial cues, canines he could read like a book, and body language, but not faces so much. It was probably a good thing.

Still, he was relieved that she considered his prior transgressions forgiven, he had been only too glad of her company that time in the jungle and ever since seemed to have caused her nothing but fear for her life. He couldn't help but wag his tail gratefully, nodding. "Quite understandable." he smirked "I'm not exactly who or what I was anymore." He padded a little nearer and sat himself down, curling his brush of a tail around over his forepaws, the feathers and necklace making him look like a coyote straight from myth.

"Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't half mind being human again but at least now it's over and I have a body that fits and isn't trapped somewhere in limbo. There are no more injections."

Emerwyn was comfortable now, the screaming deer being shoved into the back of her mind. She sat down, as well, curling her legs to the side.
It was at least a small comfort to Emerwyn that Pyroth was done. They would still retain the ability to speak, and think, for the most part, like a person.
Emerwyn nodded somberly in agreement.
"At least the physical pain is over."
But there was still the feeling, now complete, that there really was no going back.

He nodded "That's true. I don't deal with that kind of pain well anyway so that's one weight off my shoulders, the other is of course still being able to talk. I was so scared I'd lose /everything/, you know?" he shrugged "But yeah, from what I've heard I went too far, that the injections aren't meant to make you quite as animalistic as me, just my luck I suppose."

He grinned slightly though, as though telling some vast secret. "Though I'll tell you one thing, being on all fours has it's advantages. I could /never/ run like that before, so fast. It's fantastic." he'd never been excessively physical as a human so this whole new area still had him reeling.

He flicked his ears forward attentively "So how has island life been treating you since we last met?" he wasn't about to mention the slight scent of illness he had picked up earlier, that was just plain rude to pry so much so soon.

Emerwyn was now played at by a strange mixed feeling. So, she was not meant to turn out the way Pyroth did. But, the fact that a mistake like that was made, made her nervous. What other things could go wrong? Ian's leg came to her mind.

And, the fact that he could run fast - well, Emerwyn hoped, maybe he would always have this control over himself. At least when she was near.

It was a common formality to ask this, and being away from civilization didn't seem to have changed this. Emerwyn wouldn't have minded much, but her usual response was rapidly growing dry.
"Worse for wear, I do admit. However, I feel a great change in the air."
And this was adequate, and this was true.

Emerwyn
