Niame was exhausted, but he had enough strength to try one last time before he would collapse onto his desk as he had done twice before. He attepted to clear his mind, but his weariness would not leave him in peace. After a few minutes, he decided he would have to try with his exhaustion filling his mind. He struggled slightly to bring his arm into position and once he began, his hand tightened, his arm bcame tense, and he saw splatters of red in his eyes. He was pushing himself to hard, but what other choice did he have? He tried harder and harder to pump the chakra through to his hand, but it simply would not. His arm fell before he allowed it to and his fell ploped onto the desk. He had no time to even register that he had overdriven himself before he was lost to his unconciousness.

Niame was very impatient now and couldn't stand to wait. He had only gained about half his strength back and he was tired of waiting. This assignment was taking much too long. He wearily lifted his arm into his normal position and began to focus. He was too tired to block his senses, so he tried with them flowing. After a moment his other arm came up to brace his first and he started shaking. His face began to turn red with the effort of focusing his chakra, and his bracing arm sqeezed on his other arm hard. His head began to lower now and his eyes started to flutter closed. Finally, the strain became too much and his arm collapsed back onto the desk, as it had done so many times before.

Niame did not feel like waiting, although he knew he had to. He allowed himself a few deep breaths, then got back into position. As he brought his senses to a close and focused his chakra into his hand he could feel it under his skin. Just a little more and it would seep from him, but as hard as he concentrated, all that happened was the irritaion remained just under the skin. He gave up on the try when his vision started to blur again. 'If this keep up I might go blind,' he thought. He slowly lowered his arm and relaxed, actually taking the time to breathe.

Niame waited until he was completely reenergized and put his hand back into position. Before he began, he cleared his mind, senses, and braced his active arm with the other free one. He took a few more deep breaths and began to force chakra toward his hand. Slowly, he felt the chakra move toward the focal point until he could feel it directly under the skin of his sweating palm. His arm began to shake and his muscles tightened. He could see a faint glimmer of the blue chakra emerging from the center of his palm and continued to focus. Slowly, more chakra poured from him until it could cover his entire hand. He continued to concentrate, however until the flame became twice as large as his hand. His vision blurred and he sweat harder than he had on all his previous attempts. Once he could take no more, He released his focus and the chakra dissipated. His hand fell to his desk and he panted. He was overjoyed, although he'd never admit that, of course. He settled to rest for a short while before his next attempt.

Niame let his confidence get the better of him and rushed straight into his next attempt. He slung his arm forward and tried to pump his chakra into it. He did not give his body enough chance to rest after his last amazing success and soon he began to feel the side-effects of overworking his body. His vision blurred, muscles tightened, arm shook, head began pounding, body sweat terribly, and what was left of his vision started to form red spots. He put up with all these symptoms, however, until his body rejected his mind and forced him to stop. His arm and head plopped audibly on the desk and he didn't even try to get back up. He simply closed his eyes and allowed his body rest.

Niame still could not rest for long enough brfore his determination took over. He sat up slowly, shakily, and raised his arm out in front of him, even though his arm shook violently. He immediately pushed chakra into his hands, trying, with the little strength his short rest had given him, to make the fire burst from his hand. A moment later, every part of Niame was shaking violently and his hand collapsed with a loud thud. He panted, but still tried to raise his arm. No matter how much he willed his muscles to raise his arm above the level of his desk, it just twitched slightly. He continued to pant and gave up. He settled to let himself rest.

Niamelet himself rest a bit, but still not long enough. He could just not get it through his head that his body was being overworked to the breaking point. As he lifted his arm, he winced at the soreness, but pushed it aside and continued. He started breathing slower, to concentrate, but he was to tired and began panting again. He discarded the breathing exercise and pumped chakra into his hand. Nothing happened. He continued to try and force more and more into his hand, but the harder he tried, the more futile it became, it seemed. Niame pinched his leg with his free hand, but his weariness would not allow it to be hard enough, and it did not help him to focus any. He closed his eyes and let his arm down, slowly. He allowed himself to pant and regain his strength. Next time, he would be rested.

Niame was at as full strength as he could be with his soreness. He raised his arm more easily, but still with a slight ache. He concentrated as hard as he could, moving chakra through him, into his hand. His skin tone brightened just the slightest bit and he closed his eyes, to keep any more hopeful thoughts or sights from getting to him. He tried to focus harder, but it didn't seem to help any. That slight tone change was as best as he was going to get. He grudgingly, surrendered. Letting his arm lower, along with his head. He would rest before the next go, but this time he would rest until he was sure he was ready.

Niame let himself cool down. His aches slowly calmed. He was ready. He lifted his arm into the air, without even the sloightest pain. He breathed deeply as he began to focus his chakra into his hand with the new found strength from his rest. He closed his eyes and cleared his mind, blocked his senses. He felt the irritation growing under his skin before it slowly began to die down. He thought maybe his body had given out on him again, so he opened his eyes to see. He was shocked to see that he had not failed, but instead the fire that was his chakra had engulfed his hand. 'Preparation. That is the key,' He thought.

Niame was excited about his success. Even though he knew rest was important, he thought he was ok. He didn't feel all that tired. He quickly pulled his arm back into place once more, and pumped chakra through him as best he could. The irritaion returned, but it did not seem to ease away like it should when it broke skin. He spared a peek at his hand, but all he saw was the same hand he had been born with, no chakra srrounding it. He tried to pump even more chakra into his arm, but it did not seem to work. It didn't matter how much he tried, the chakra just was not going to seep through his skin. He let his hand down and panted mildly. 'Damn! I was so close!' He thought.

Niame fought his anxiety and let his body rest a bit. Since he wasn't that tired it didn't take long for him to rest. He repositioned his arm in the same position it had been for his last attempts. One more success and he would be finished with this god forsaken assignment. He closed his eyes and blocked everything. His mind went blank the only thing he was aware oof was his task. He slowly fed chakra into his hand. The irritation of the chakra began to build up more and more. He started to feel it decline, but not by much. He opened his eyes and he couls see a very thing flame covering his hand. He sighed relief and stopped his concentration. He didn't need to do any better than just good enough so there was no point in enlarging the flame of chakra. He looked up expectantly at his teacher with a slight smirk. "I'm done," he said.

Hitomi stepped into the old doors of the academy, slipping her shoes off at the door, falling back on old habits to ease some of the pain in her heart by completely ignoring it. Something about her vivid green eye seemed... Distant... Keiko would know the look. Hitomi was far from herself, but by no means was she looking outward. She was scouring her mind and her soul for answers. She couldn't find any. She can give anyone information on how to show someone else they care, how to act to please someone else, but, now that she looked back at her life, she can't remember ever expressing emotions for the sake of experiencing them. Every time she can remember laughing, crying, being excited, or being scared, it was because she was mimicking others around her, or simply playing her part... She could remember just once that she had been happy... A long, long time ago.
She needed answers from the only other person who knew her, at least the real part of her. Keiko was the only one that had answers... But... Hitomi hadn't spoken to Keiko in a long time. She'd never even taken Keiko up on her offer and even come over to her house... Hitomi still slept on the streets, not out of necessity, but out of respect... She didn't know how Gig felt about her, and she didn't want the awkwardness of living with them. She sighed, wondering if this was really the smartest choice. She might be able to find her own answers.... Not in time... This really was her only choice. Her emotions were eroding their box, and those that couldn't fit were eating at her from the inside out.
Hitomi drifted through the hallway, hearing sounds from within one room. Deciding that this must be where Keiko was, she put herself to the wall on the right side of the door, coming out. She could keep her left eye on the door and still relax somewhat. The beads hanging from her headband danced softly, playing with her cheek and nose. Now if only... Hitomi contented herself with waiting, losing herself to the black abyss that was her mind. A problem was an absence of information. This meant that it was a vacuum. Immersing herself in that vacuum only put her at the epicenter of an overwhelming surge of information trying to fill the gap. She just couldn't make sense of any of it. Keiko seemed to be OK, after everything else.... Why wasn't Hitomi?

((I'M SOOOOOOOOOOO SORRY FOR NOT POSTING IN A REALLLY LONG TIME! I'M BACK! ))
Keiko smiled at Niame, he was doing pretty well for a newbie, however his attitude was a different story. She got up from her usual place at the desk and moved to the door. She raised her hand as if saying be quiet for a second, I'll be back. However, Keiko didn't need to walk so far, she opened the door and looked around the corner. "Ah, Hitomi, I thought it was you. You know that you don't have to be a stranger!" She motioned for her to come into the classroom, she looked back at Niame. "Ready for some hard material?" Keiko gave a slight laugh, "Eh, you'll be fine."

Niame became puzzled at the women, but passed it off as female ignorance. Females always seemed weaker, more distracted to him. He turned away from the two and replied to Keiko. "Bring it," he barked. He wasn't trying to sound cocky, just urgind her to get on with it. He slounched back into his chair and stared out the window, subconciously fumbling with his necklace.

Hitomi decided to have some fun with the kid, who's eyes were all too familiar to her. He reeked of sexism. He reminded her too much of herself. The handseal for the henge was hidden by her thigh, and the smoke was hidden by the ever-present longer-than-necessary-sleeved haori that covered the absence of her left arm, the sound all-but-absent from the hallway. She stepped in after Keiko, rolling her new shoulder, glancing down at her new hand. Hitomi may not be able to hold on to emotions for very long, but she still enjoyed screwing with people.
"Don't look so happy to be here, kid." Keiko would notice both the new 'arm' that Hitomi had picked up between outside and inside, and would note how Hitomi had modified her headband. Strings of beads hung down over her right eye, arranged in a chevron that covered both her 'sharingan' and the greater portion of her scar. She never really did like flaunting that unfortunate reminder of her time in the Brothel. But she couldn't bring herself to get rid of it, because it was as familiar to her as the snakes tattooed over the greater part of her upper body.
If anyone bothered to listen closely, the strong beat of powerful wings would be heard before a full-grown harpy eagle landed outside the window, looking back in at Niame, a dark black line passing through the bird's right eye, mirroring Hitomi's scar in all but color. Letting out a small call, Kon cocked her head and looked at Hitomi.
