Daeron nodded thoughtfully. "Yes ... that one sounds familiar ... I think ... though I can see why my father would have wanted me to forget it." He laughed. "So much repetition!"
He chuckled again. "I must have grown up. Anyways, what's the other one?"

"You think that's bad, then the next song is worse," Lin told him in utmost seriousness that it was nearly laughable, "It goes... This is the song that doesn't it end, yes it goes on and on my friends..."
She then added.
"And it loops around so you sing that intro again and again and.. well you know."

Lore nodded, no point in putting people in the spot light like that, especially since people didn't seem to have a high opinion of Elnara's family (at least on her mother's side) very much.
"I see... that was.. something that went out of control."

Elnara laughed. "Now there's an understatement!" she giggled, hugging Lore's arm as they walked. "There have been some good things that came of it, though, that I'm sure my uncle would have hated - the Westlanders found out about we Southlanders again - it had been so long since the two races had had any sort of contact that they'd forgotten about us - and now the Eastland, where the dwarfs were, there's a mixture of Westland and Southland elves, and they're mixing as if there's no difference between them ... which, of course, there isn't. But my uncle started the whole thing trying to keep our race ..."
She coughed.
"... pure ..."

Actually, Daeron really didn't know, but he could guess.
"So from there it just keeps on repeating over and over?" he asked, raising one eyebrow. "Ouch ... yes, that would indeed be annoying - not only to listen to, but to sing."
He chuckled and shook his head. "No, it's better that no one here knows them, I think that for once I agree with my father on that score."

Lin laughed at that, even though she was not fond of those songs herself, "Nina will be disappointed, she finds them a lot of fun. As much as she likes riddles and talking in riddles all the time."

"Indeed," Lore murmured knowing about people like that.
Quite awful and close minded those kind of people were.
"Quite an ironic thing to happen to him then."

"There are still a lot of people who think that the races should be kept separate," Elnara shrugged, "but most people nowadays think that there is nothing wrong with them mingling. Unfortunately, my brother Ruel is of the opinion that the race should be kept pure ... which I think is the root of his hatred towards me and Mother, because as far as he's concerned we're not pure elves, let alone pure Southlanders. What that makes him in his own mind, I don't know, but that's how it stands."

Daeron chuckled. "Riddles are another thing entirely," he grinned. "They at least have some semblance of logic or sense. I can't claim to be particularly good at them, Uncle Elrohir is the best, but I'm always willing to give them a try at least."

"Well I don't know riddles," Lin replied back, "So I can't help there," she pouted a bit at that.
Oh well, maybe there was something else they could do.
"Are you good at telling stories?"

Lore shrugged as he pulled her closer, "A very confused individual, though he doesn't know it."
He murmured this, but he always meant it in a light way. The way that said, I understand, you understand, so he's in the dark, but that's his loss.

Elnara smiled warmly and leaned her head against Lore's shoulder, slipping one arm around his waist. "Well, maybe he'll come around someday," she murmured back in an equally light tone.
They reached the front entrance, and Elnara led the way outside towards the gate.

"Some stories," Daeron nodded, leaning back in his chair and putting his hands behind his head in a relaxed manner. "Would you like to hear one?"
After all, he had to sit there for a while, he might as well entertain Lin while he was waiting.

"Yay!" Lin nodded as she made herself comfortable, "After all you must have some stories to tell. You've been to a lot of places."
After all, her mother always had interesitng stories, even if she wasn't always willing to tell them.

Lore smiled fondly as he followed her, but not letting go at her at all. Inside, Lore hoped that Ruel would come around, he wanted Elnara to have all of her family, at least the ones among the living.
