It's kind of like how... that other girl is actually Godfrey's Father? ... but she doesn't ever come by... so I took the prerogative to manipulate him and whatever...

Except... yeah... it is your character but... sort of not. O_O You used to come in there, yeah... but not anymore.... so it's like... one of those weird clones who are but not are your characters has poofed into existence....

If you're angry about it... well talk to Rookwood about it... or you know...

Awww man... it is four o'clock in the morning, and I'm awake because I was trying to sleep by thinking up a sort of story (Which always helps me sleep) ... and anyways I was thinking randomly about what kind of person Godfrey Lockhart would be.... (For the AU, of course. xP) and I couldn't sleep because I didn't want to lose what I was thinking of... so I got up all like a lame person and wrote it down.

xD Definitely helped though, because I wasn't sure if Godfrey Lockhart would be a Hufflepuff or a Slytherin. Ultimately? The decision would land on Gilderoy. If Gilderoy did not like Slytherin, or thought badly of it, Godfrey would be a Hufflepuff. He wouldn't fit in Gryffindor, and he would have to force himself to go in Ravenclaw (Not that he's stupid. xP) ... but Godfrey Lockhart would definitely be a Slytherin.....

While Godfrey Potter-Lockhart would be a Hufflepuff, or perhaps even a Gryffindor? But it wouldn't matter because he won't ever go to Hogwarts, I think.

In my brain story, Godfrey said Ron 'Had as much decorum as an Irishman in a liquor factory' .... after Ron said Godfrey's dad was a pompus doofus... or was it that he was a fraud? But Ron doesn't know that until the near end of second year...

I have NOTHING else to think about. O_O Weird thing is, I don't dream Harry Potter so much anymore. I think it out before I sleep. xP

((ALSO: This is more relevant to the Chat Thread... but I watched 'Blades of Glory' a few hours ago, and now I want to see Will Ferrel as Chaz and John Heder as Jimmy totally get it on. xD rofl

It was like, Broke Back Mountain except they were both actually straight, and the closest to naked they got was John Heder in some adorable blue underpants. rofl

ALSO, I WATCHED THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX ON MY DVD FINALLY, AND WHEN IT GOT TO THE SCENE WHERE SNAPE DRUG HARRY DOWN INTO THE DUNGEONS... xD

I paused it, adn then watched it step by step... and TOTALLY LAWLED because there's a point just before it switches to overhead view, where Harry's hand keeps getting closer to himself so Snape's goes along with it... so fi I press 'step forward' then 'step back'.... it totally looks like Snape is Jerking Harry off, and Harry's like, leaning against the wall and totally loving it while Snape is not looking at him as if he's innocent if he doesn't look at what he's doing.

And the Remus holding Harry back from jumping in the veil scene? BUTTSECKS.

Also, Sirius seems sort of creepy/Lecherous to me now. I totally think there was some James/Sirius going on, and that some quiet things happened between harry and Sirius tha tHarry never told anyone about.. such as hands straying during hugs when they were alone, and stuff.

I am also now officially a Harry/Luna fan. ;_; No other Harry/Girl pairing is good enough for me. rofl

Well.......

Godfrey Lockhart is different from Godfrey P-L in many ways... one... he has only Gilderoy... so Harry isn't there to take care of Gilderoy, especially when it comes to his incompetence at doing magic.

Two.... Godfrey grows up during the time when Gilderoy is traveling the world, stealing stories from people and obliviating them so he can make his book. Godfrey Lockhart is a rather enigmatic kind of child. Very cultured, having spent most of his life traveling to and fro with his father as he collected stories for and writ his famous books. He loves his father above everything, and is incredibly loyal to him. To the people he loves, he is very loyal and protective. But beyond his loyalty, he is also extremely manipulative. Having, from a very young age, known that his Father was not all he made himself appear to be to the general public, he has learned to care for and watch out for his Father, keeping his secrets at any cost.

Gilderoy, of course, does not know that Godfrey knows that he obliviated people and stole the stories from them... and that generally he is not a very competent wizard......... and if Godfrey has his way, he will never know. Godfrey pretends to be oblivious to please his father, and then behind his back, tries to make sure nothing is out of place, that all loose ends are snipped cleanly.

I would think, that he would love his father so much, that he would almost be his caretaker instead of the other way around. For example... Gilderoy always had the dream to develop his own line of beauty products... but we all know Gilderoy is only very good at one spell, and Godfrey's existence gives away his skill at potions making.

I could see Godfrey watching his father toss ingredients almost wily-nily into a pot, trying to create something useful... and then the brew perhaps backfiring on him, or causing his father bodily injury. From that day forward, Godfrey would hit the potions books, learning all he could to help his father.

And he would apply the knowledge he learned in an interesting, and manipulating way. When his father would express an interest in brewing something, Godfrey would ask for permission to watch... ever liking an audience, Gilderoy would most likely agree. Having studied so much, Godfrey would be able to tell what most of the ingredients were when he was older but not hogwarts age, if not what type they were and if they were dangerous when added with this or that... but instead of coming out and telling his father he was wrong.... because that would hurt him and make him doubt himself... he would suggest something like 'This ingredient is much prettier than that.... or 'Father, maybe you should put this one in, instead?' and if Gilderoy ever said anything like 'Godfrey, I know you mean well, but I am the adult here, and it is only logical that I know far more about this sort of thing than you would', Godfrey would let his ears droop sadly, and give his father 'The look'... the look that makes Gildeory instantly feel guilty and want to comfort him... and then to placate Godfrey he would put the ingredient in, and when things turned out decent... well he would praise him and then perhaps ask him back to help him, and if he didn't, the cycle would repeat itself until he did.

He feels it is his duty in life and love to love, honor, and protect his father, especially from himself, and knows that if Gilderoy ever found out Godfrey had been 'helping' him all these years, the man would be devistated, and Godfrey in turn.

O_O Godfrey would do things like, have his father read his manuscript to him, and be helpful in an innocent way to straighten out facts and make the book read interestingly..

His early efforts wouldnt' be as good, perhaps that's why 'Walking with Werewolves' or whatever wouldn't be quite as accurate.... but Gilderoy's later books would definitely be better....

Godfrey Lockhart's Strengths:

Potions
History
Writing, proof-reading, and a generally good grasp of essay writing

Weaknesses:

Transfiguration
Herbology (Knows the ingredients but doesn't see why he should have to take care of him.. plus he gets all dirty and sweaty)
A bit socially stunted, having spent most of his time with adults all his life

I know it's too early to be thinking about this, since Jess just said the other day that it'd be until the end of January that stuff would go down, but eh.

Spica would be different too..... with her father in jail and a known murderer..... both her and Remus werewolves... she'd probably have grown up in poverty, though Remus would have always made sure she had enough to eat and such.....

I mean, the characters could develop into a person who was similar to the characters we know and love.... but it would be a journey you know?

Um... well Kat wants to make a Roleplay in Hogwarts so all the kids can come in and roleplay, right? But there's no 'going back in time' thing, so if we want to involve our characters, there has to be a reasonable explanation for them.

xD So if you want to bring Spica in... she'd be Sirius/Remus' kid... or whatever....

She could probably be a ravenclaw too... but yeah.. uh... maybe one of the others could explain it better......
