Kaze raised an eyebrow. "He wouldn't even have a chance to touch me." He stated. Little did the girl know, Kaze could control the wind with minimal trouble. If he truly wanted, he could foce a man down on the ground, and make him unable to move an inch. Not to mention, he was a master at dual-wielding katanas.
(And, what castle is Larken at? Telroth, I'm assuming, since he's an evil guy?)

(Whatever castle is the Overlord's.)
Shira snorted and wobbled. "Don't make me laugh. If I wanted to, I could kill you right here and now, but I won't." Her eyes darkened. "Lark, on the other hand... he wouldn't even blink." She looked up. "Anyway, if we want to destroy the Overlord, we'd better do it before Larken does. If he has an army to control, he'll use it to his full advantage, got it? Larken is bad, bad news. Stay out of his way- I'm the only one who has even a thread of chance to defeat him and he knows it."

"Oh your welcome for healing you enough so you could move... if I had left you to heal yourself you would have bled to death." Jos growled softly, glancing over at Kaze and laughed when she said that this guy was not to be crossed with. "If anything it's the other way around... Trust me, Kaze has nothing to worry about." Jos smiled, turning and walking off. "Alright group lets head out." She said, smiling over at Lina.
Opal gave a nod, picking up Vaati. She glanced over at Shira nervous, she didn't truly trust the girl yet. She kept Vaati to her chest as she walked off. "Would you like to walk, or do you mind if I carry you Vaati?" She asked with a soft smile at the lavender cat.
(If you're character's going to prove a point... don't god mod... please)

(I don't god mod- look at my profile a little ways back, it says my character has the ability to heal. She can't heal very much, though.)
"Yeah, thanks, you helped." Shira meant that sincerely. "And if you don't believe me about Lark, that's your own grave your digging." Shira actually chuckled as she walked at the back of the group, keeping a watchful eye on whatever could pounce.

Jin appeared at the top of one of the towers and looked down at Larken. "Allow him entrance? My a**! The Overlord wouldn't allow this fool entrance, and I wouldn't blame him." Even Jin didn't like the guy. Sure, he was in the market for strong hands, but pompous fools were nothing but a burden.
Kaze smiled down at Josline. "Alright then, let's go." He said, then looked over at Kazelina. "Where to next?" He asked, only to be a little surprised at the next destination.
Kazelina nodded and stepped forward. "Our next destination... is a little hot... Though, I think we should be able to make it. It's in the Zaltuthe Ruins." 'Hot' was an understatement to the temperatures in such a place. One minute in the barren wasteland, and a normal person would collapse from heat exhaustion. Luckily, Kazelina, Kaze, and Opal could control the wind, and therefore, make it more bareable. "We will have to stop in Arelia first to grab some horses, then make a day's ride, minimum, to the desert." She explained. Then, after they entered, horses wouldn't be able to last. "However, we will have to leave the horses outside Zaltuthe, for it is far too hot for even horses to survive." Kazelina added.
(I believe Jos may be talking about Larken...)

(What about Larken? I mean, he's not a pompous guy. He's just trying to kill Shira, and why not the whole group while he's at it?)
Larken stood there, realizing that they probably wouldn't let him in. Fine, then. He would just go to the nearest town, pick up supplies. His master had provided him with a delightful map of the strange land, though he wouldn't say where he got it.
Shira spoke. "I haven't exactly told you yet, but I have some certain abilities of my own. As you already know, I can heal, but it's only small stuff." She gingerly touched the site of her still-aching wound. "I can also sort of see through things, and make force fields. I think the force field part would be helpful in Zaltuthe."

"Understandable..." Jos murmured to herself looking at her long black cloak. "This... is not going to make the travel bearable..." She murmured to herself and unzipped her cloak and reveled a light dress underneath. "I hate dress but this might be better then a black cloak..." She said, putting it into her bag. She blinked over at Shira and shook her head a bit, "You don't know us... we've face worse than Mr. Make things Float." Josline said with a small chuckle.
(Jenny, I have a question, are you going to have Larken kidnap Jos OwO)

Kazelina looked over at Shira. "And, exactly how long can you hold that shield under extreme and constant heat?" She asked. Unless the girl could hold the shield for quite a few hours, it would be a lot easier on everyone if the four wind mages worked together to lessen the heat intensity.
Kaze smiled at Josline, she looked nice in a dress. "Josline's right, we've been faced with overwhelming odds before, and always come out on top." He said.
(It's more of the part about the human pressure points. With characters like that, it puts everyone on offensive against him, because that basically means if that character gets a single hit in on anyone, the character Larken hit would be out of commission. I, personally, dislike dealing with these types, because that makes me feel like I have to make my own character dodge everything (in short, makes me feel like I have to god mod my own characters) so that the fight doesn't turn out one-sided.)
(Jos, Jos, you and your kidnappings.)
(Well, anyway, I'm off to bed for the night.)

(No, I was going to just have him randomly pop out of nowhere and offer flowers or something, but now that you mention it, that sounds like a great idea! biggrin )
Shira felt nervous; she hadn't used her power in a while. Experimentally, she focused on Josline's backpack. A shimmering iridescent hint of power came to life around it, and Shira relaxed. "Let me practice a little and I'll be able to hold it for about four hours altogether." She pointed ahead. "I think I see the town."
Larken lounged in the market as the rumors of a band of travelers swept through. Curious, he walked to the edge of town and looked himself. To his surprise, he saw the same idiot boy who had dared to challenge him just that morning. Next to him was a raving beauty with beautiful flowing hair, flawless skin and gorgeous eyes.
(Who can guess who the "raving beauty" is... *coughJOScough*)

Vaati meowed his answer and snuggled closer to his chest. So long as he was in his cat form, he didn't need to walk, though his fur would make things difficult in the desert. Not to mention his tunic in his regular form. Usually, his cape would add to the heat, but he hadn't seen it much since he passed it to Kazelina for Seth. Vaati's ears twitched as he listened into the conversation. He was beginning to think that none of them liked Shira, or perhaps it was just a trust issue. "It doesn't matter how long she can last. We can always switch from using our magic to using her shield if it gets awful. Anyone who dies is useless to us." Vaati murmured in his cat form.
((Was Seth left in the forest or is he still with Kazelina?))

(YAY! KIDNAPPING!)
Jos sighed to herself and tugged at her long hair. "I know I have to get this stupid hair cut one of these days... such a nuisance..." She muttered to herself. She almost froze nervously, she knew she sensed something, it was like something was staring at her intensely. "Um, let's keep moving alright?" She said, almost wishing that she had had her cloak back on. Something to hid herself and keep out of view of whoever was staring at her.
"Oh... well, maybe we should give her a chance, she might be even stronger than we take her granted for..." Opal smiled softly down towards the cat. She was glad he was easy to carry. "Oh, that reminds me of something... but I'm sure it's not important." Opal said, thinking to herself. Yes, her birthday was creeping up on her, she would look another year older.

(Yes, Seth is still with Kazelina. Oh, and Jos, could you reply with Shadow? Also, one more thing. Jenny, I hope you're not trying to say that the group is in town already... because they haven't even left the forest... And, they will be heading straight to Arelia to get horses... Isn't Larken in Telrathos?)
Kazelina nodded, then started heading out of the forest. "Alright, Arelia isn't too far from here. One of the reasons this forest got the title 'Respite' is because it's so close to the peaceful kingdom." She explained as they exited the forest. Shadow was already there, waiting or them, though, he was in the shadows, so only Josline and Dark would really be able to sense him.
Kaze looked down at Josline again. "Something wrong?" He asked. She seemed to be a little nervous about something. Kaze smiled and wrapped his arm protectively around her. "Don't worry, we'll get to Arelia soon. If what my sister says is true, I doubt anyone would really try anything stupid there." He said reassuringly.

Shira was silent as she rode. Fourteen years of traveling and coming within a hair's breath of death had sucked the ability to trust from her soul. But now... it was warming, just a little. Could she trust these people? She was almost certain about Kaze and Josline- Josline had helped to heal her, and Kaze had actually had the nerve to stand up to Larken. Maybe she could let her walls down, just this once...
Larken watched the group carefully- particularly Josline. An idea struck him; why not take a hostage as a peace offering to the Overlord? That would certainly put him in His Majesty's good graces. Why not have a little fun? Larken decided. He reached out with his power and lifted Kaze's sword high into the air.

Kaze stopped, his ear twitching when he heared his sword being unsheathed from its sheathe. He quickly turned around and grabbed his sword out of the air, then unsheathed his second sword. "Who's there!?" He demanded to know, only to scowl when he saw Larken's face. Without hesitation, he sent a powerful wave of wind straight to Larken's face.
(Yeah... another thing about Kaze is that his hearing is a quite a bit better than most others'.)

Jos blinked when the sword unsheathed itself. What the hell was going on? Was someone commanding the blade? Well, she could trace the source back to the one controlling it. She blinked, looking to her left her eyes widening when she saw Larken, her heart started to pound. He was staring at her intensely, something told her that he wasn't staring her out of hate. She blinked when he was knocked to the ground. She glanced over at Kaze seeing him angrily glance over at Larken as he fell to the ground.
