"Alex..." he said softly as he took Alex in to his arms, ignoring the throbbing pain in the back of his head
she smiled softly and kissed him again before going down to the car

He turned, "You okay?" He asked touching E's face.
He was increasing speed and was getting more into town, not far from the hospital now.

she was getting ready to pull out of the parking lot when another car hit her
"I'll be fine" he said softly "come on... lets get some of you're things packed, you can come stay with us"

He didn't see the car coming out of the lot. He was going nearly seventy when he hit. They went skidding for a block. He was passed out on the air bag barley breathing, his legs trapped.
"Are...are you sure?"

he nodded "I'm fine" he whispered
when they stopped moving she got out of her car shakily and went over to see how the other person. She took out her phone and dialed 911 "yes... I'm about a block away from the hospital on Mail street north... there's been a car accident and there's a man barely breathing..."

"Did you hit your head?" He didn't care about moving out. This was exactly the reason he didn't want E there when he told his father.

"yeah, but it's fine, I'm fine" he said softly taking Alex's face in his hands lightly "we need to get you out of here before he comes home"

He nodded but didn't know what to do first.
Sirens started and an ambulance came around the corner.

she watched as they took the man out of his car and rushed him to the hospital. She gave the cops the report and got a ride home. From the house she called Kent's phone
"grab some cloths and something to sleep in" he said softly, kissing Alex's cheek "if you just take it out I'll fold it and put it in the bag for you"

He nodded and went to his closet and dresser, "You should sit down."
He had put the girls back in their crib and quickly picked up his phone. "Yes?"

He stepped out into the hall. "What happened?" He was doing his best to stay calm.
"But you should still sit." He brought out a arm full of cloths and then went to get changed.

he sighed and reluctently sat on the bed, folding the cloths and putting them in a bag
she swallowed "I was pulling out... of the parking lot... and some guy came speeding and hit me, totaled the car... I'm fine"

"Where are you?"
He was just finishing getting dressed, pulling on his shirt, when the phone rang. He walked out into the hall and answered the phone. It was the hospital. He nearly fell when he heard his father was in critical condition.
