Yeah... don't vote, Riv.
I don't like Obama. Lots of smile and good cheer but what's the plan for his presidency? A lot of fluff and pageantry from him, not much substance. Decent voting record.
I like Hillary even less. Her voting record is less than impressive.
Edwards is like Obama, with a questionable voting record as well.
I like Gravel, though he doesn't have much of a chance with the former three hogging up the spotlight. Plus he's been ruffling a few feathers. If not Gravel I'm probably going with Obama... -cringe-

These are the primaries, just when the parties choose who they want to run for them... All I've gotten from the Democrats is a load of fluff... And I don't expect much else from the Republicans in their primaries... it's a big image of the candidate contest... scream
I'm thinking third party is probly the way to go this year. stare

The Republican candidates are pretty much a collective joke.
I had enough of Romney when he was governor in Mass. I'm not exactly excited about the idea of him ruling on a Federal level.
Ron Paul is the only one who gets an approving nod from me, though some of his ideas I kind of disagree with. Really, the thing that makes him great is his concern over individual rights. He's put his foot down against things like the suspension of Habeas Corpus and the Patriot Act. Libertarian ideals in general sound pretty sweet on a civil level. Once it hits fiscal issues though it gets iffy.
I haven't heard much from any third party candidates yet, and at this point in the game it's probably already too late for them to step in and make any impact on the frontrunners.
It's nothing new. Elections are like beauty pageants, except you know, the prettiest one gets to make decisions that actually affect you. :D

Fuji_hobo_jacket Does Was live in Massachusetts? Yes, I do. Born and bred. @Riv: Doesn't really matter how he says it. Of course he's going to sound endearing as smiles and chirps about hope and change. But they're all fronting to some extent to seem likable and get people on their side. What matters is content, context and action.

As long as no one picks O'Malley as their running partner, I don't really have an opinion on any of the candidates. xp Although I am a bit worried about Riv voting...

The reason I mentioned third party is cause I'm wondering how much is hidden behind the whole bipartisan government front. Ron Paul is quite interesting, tough I haven't check out much of his stuff yet. He get mentioned alot. razz
