No one should have to keep paying once you've paid for the game that's just silly

As someone who's trying to get into the gaming business I'd like to see regular income once I get a job working for an MMO perhaps. MMOs are games of longevity if made well. The cost for server upkeep, keeping the game bug free, incorporating and creating new material, and paying the people to make and work on it will eventually exceed the profits gained from a single game sale. The games themselves usually cost over 10 million just to make.
Even "free to play" games are never free. They need money to keep going thus all those overpriced fancy ponies and extra gimmicks. Some games even chop off the later half of their game UNLESS you subscribe or pay a fee.
It's not silly. Its just how things work.

I'm still confused as to why the PC game is $10 cheaper.

That I don't know either, except its probably cheaper to make a PC CD than a console CD since the computer is easier to read things while the console has to go through the mechanics of its particular OS.

Well the PS3 network is free to play on. Playing an MMO on there wouldn't be much different then playing an FPS or other cooperative games. Imagine playing the same game on the 360. You pay for the internet, your live subscription, and then your MMO on top of that.
Then you have the PS3 uses your system and those playing with you as its own server, thus no maintenance, but your charging a sub fee. Unless of course they are using their servers to share the burden on your system. I'm not sure how it works with more then 12 people in-game. But is its spreading the server between systems then its close to 90% profit per month on top of the initial game purchase.
But me not paying for MMOs is more a personal choice. I have a hard time paying for something I will barely get a chance to use. If I had the time then I would be willing to pay for something that I will enjoy frequently. >,> Thus my Netflix v.s. youtube or pirating.

Cactus flowers fall from the sky. Skewering peoples eyes as they walk by. Setting sun making the nose bleeds run. And everyone trollops to the sun holding hands in merry meant spagetti. 4laugh
