The room was dimly lit. It seemed cool in there. Kira was in the center of the room in a bed with wires connected to her. there only noice was the soft beep of the heart moniter.

"Hmph. Strange kid." Atem grumbled. Then, he seemed to realize that Ryou was gone and he wasn't hiding behind anybody anymore. He quickly jumped away from Ember. "Uh... heh heh heh... you know what I said before was a joke, right? You aren't still mad or anything, right?"

Ember grinned playfully "Hmm I dunno...Then theres what you said While I was tripping..I do rember that you know..." shesaid cracking her knuckles.

Ryou gasped slightly at the sight of Kira; he had tried to brace himself, but he hadn't been able to prepare himself for this. Just seeing her there, unmoving, made his eyes sting with tears. He blinked them away, moving towards the bed. He sat down in a chair next to it, taking Kira's hand in his own, lacing his fingers with her. "Oh, Kira..."
Ryou didn't know what he had expected to do here. There wasn't anything he could do. Tears filled his eyes, and he did nothing to hold them back this time. Nobody was here but him and Kira; he could allow himself to cry. And he did. His grip tightened just slightly on Kira's hand and he bowed his head, crying violently. "I-I'm s-sorry..."

Atem blinked, trying to remember what he had said. His face grew a little pale, and he laughed nervously. "Uhm... heh heh... Yeah, that was just a joke too." He was a bad liar at times, and this was one of those times. "Say, uh, shouldn't you go check on your buddy? Just to make sure he's okay?"

Ember shook her head"No I think he needs time alone with kira. And I think I need to teach you to think before you speak..."
Kiras hand,like the rest of her body was pale and cold.She already seemed dead.Her soft breathing was stready as the machine forsed it in and out.

"Uh, how about if I just take your advise? No teaching necessary." Atem backed away from Ember slowly. Ryou managed to get control of himself, and looked up at Kira's face. It was so hard to believe that this was Kira. He took in a shaking breath, pressing his lips against Kira's cold hand as he thought. Slowly, in a whisper, he began to speak. "I... don't know if you can hear me Kira. Probably not, but you know what everyone says about comatose people being able to hear you and all. I just wanted to let you know... how sorry I am. And that I love you."
Ryou blushed slightly, looking at the ground. He didn't know why he felt so shy, but he continued on. "I'm sorry I couldn't get to say all of this before. I know I shouldn't have let things get so much out of control. I don't know if you know this, Kira, but I wanted to say that I first fell in love with you when you helped me out. It was just after Bakura had... it was my first time, and he had just... well, you know him. But you had been so worried about me, and you were the first person to really stand up for me. I mean, Yugi and the others are great, but..."
Ryou let out a sigh, closing his eyes. "I'm sorry I have to do this to you. I'm sorry I'm so weak. I'm sorry I hadn't been able to be here for you, or Kai. I'm sorry I wasn't as strong as you are. I... Marik made me a deal. I wanted to die, and he's going to help me with that, because I'm too weak and scared to kill myself. Too many things have gone wrong in the past. He wanted to give me one week, though. I don't know why. I needed to see you again, though, and tell you. I love you, Kira, and I'm so sorry."

Sudenly a low odd noise came from kira. like taking a breath out.Her eyes weakly fluttered open slowly gliding over to him..
ember pouted "oh teaching is very nessesary.."

"Yeah, but not right now it isn't." Atem said, and before anything violent could be done to him, turned and bolted as fast as he could. Ryou tensed; he knew that sometimes comatose people would move around like this on their own. He slowly let go of Kira's hand, watching her carefully. "...Kira?"

Ryou shuddered slightly, wondering if this was some kind of dream. If this was a dream, it was a terrible one. It would be too cruel to wake up and find out that none of this was going on. Still, he didn't think too hard about this all. He quickly took Kira's hand again. "Are... are you awake?" Did he need to get a nurse?

Kira gently grasped his hand. She wasent that strong.Her eyes staid on him not wanting him to leave.
