Ah well it's working now.

*sigh*... *huggle* don't cry... it upsets you. Or cry on my shoulder. It's not as bad as you think, OK? I promise.

I know. I really do know. It just... really pisses me off right now. I just don't get why people have to ******** with other people. It's stupid. And then you're left with all these ******** pieces that you have to put back together somehow, but they don't fit anymore. It's like trying jam a puzzle together with the wrong pieces.

It was one of the most intelligent shows on television when it was on. I adored Angel. I loved Buffy, too, but Angel was the superior show from a literary point of view. Still, certain Buffy episodes surpassed anything ever done on Angel (see "Hush" and "The Body").

I grew up on Buffy, too. I always liked Angel's character because I could always relate to him. The storyline was good: darker than Buffy but comparable. What I liked the most about Angel was the character development. Buffy had a great deal of character, but nowhere near the quality of Angel. In Angel, the characters were confronted with much more gut-wrenching situations that forced them to make decisions that Buffy characters could not make without losing their morally superior friends.

That's another reason I preferred Angel. The group had been through a lot, but they would stand with each other through it all. Whenever they failed to stand together, it was for a damn good reason, and then they would have to earn that trust back slowly and through hard work. It reminded me more of what real life was like, whereas Buffy was always like high school, even after they "graduated" from it.

Mostly, Buffy characters couldn't understand the dark. They were morally intractable. Buffy never killed a human being. Giles was the darkest character on the show, and he was essentially a saint most of the time (except when he killed Ben or tried to have Spike gutted). Willow flayed a guy and tried to kill her friends, then she's mopey about it for a whole season. Angel, on the otherhand, was always trying to kill his friends, and they had a good laugh about it afterwards. It was lighthearted like Buffy, but it was also more gruesome and real.

And, most importantly, it came at a time in my life when I was out in the world, alone, and needed someone who could sorta understand what I was going through. That was Angel to me.

So don't anyone argue how Buffy is better than Angel. (1) It's not. (2) They're both awesome. (3) Angel is king. xp

That's the same place I always end up in when we have this argument. I never watched Angel much after Buffy switched to UPN, so I just have to give in to him everytime.

Last time I talked to you Jovo, you said Buffy was better than Angel? Or maybe it was charmed. Bwar for memory suckage.

Anyway, I'd like to take this moment in time to dedicate to me hating my DvD-Rom.
