She watched him carefully for his answer. It wasn't like she was expecting him to answer right away, but still the slight hesitation, well, she didn't want him to say something for her sake. However, those thoughts melted away when she sensed his words and emotions toward the subject were infact genuine. She smiled softly, returning the kiss, a hand gently settled on his jaw.

"I do love ye." She said, her eyes catching the ring, newly on her finger. Her other hand, subconciously twisted it on the appendage. She couldn't stop smiling at this moment, her cheeks hurt almost from it. But things, they were falling into place. She and Xol were finally getting married, well, whenever they planned that, and then he said he wanted a family with her. She caught the passing thought of Xol's fear of Mastema trying to get his hands on their children. "Tha closest Mastema will be gettin' to our children will be if they 'ave a play date wit' tha triplets. An' I think tha' Nana an' I will be the ones to sup'rvise..."

Xol laughed a little when the mental picture of him and Mastema squaring off as Nana and Phia watched over the kids. That was definately not something he had ever expected to envision in his lifetime. However, that might be closer to happening that he ever though. If Nana and Mastema had allowed Phia entrance into their home and no harm had come... perhaps he could try as well. No. He didn't think that would be possible. With all the bad blood between him and those two, he failed to see how that would ever be possible.

"I think you fail to see the intricacies of our relationship. Mastema and I, of course. The odds of getting us into one room and not have one or both scheme against the other is like expecting an ice cube not to melt in the Saharan sun my love. If it's your wish... then I will dutifully try. I promise." It was more of a test of manhood now more than anything. As long as Mastema still breathed Xol would want to batter him. Not so much a want to kill him, but a need to prove he was better than him. The ultimate adversary.... and he liked it that way.

Phia rolled her eyes at Xol.

"I understand yer relationship perfectly well wit' 'im. I dun like tha man eith'r...'e almost kill'd me when I was pregnant wit' Aria." She said with a sigh. "Ye an' 'im dun 'ave to even be thar....it'd prolly be best, consider'n we dun like each other's respective partners..." She said softly. "Nana and I get along...but we're not expecting anything short of an all our battle wit' ye two." She said. "I'll be ok thar.....Mas understands 'ow important tha' is to Nana... an' I expect ye to do no 'arm against 'er in kind...." She spoke with a certain resolve, clearly this request was non-negotiable and non-optional.

There was no confusing her tone or demeanor, Phia meant buisness. This woman was now pretty much his wife and being in a marriage meant compromise. It was Mastema though. Mastema! He sighed internally. It wasn't like he could be killed though... not as long as he had his ace in the hole. Both offensively and defensively. So what the hell.

"I understand. There's no reason why we can't form a friendship with them... besides, it's not like we've done anything harmful to each other lately. We had a truce at one time after all." Maybe he just needed to alter his personality a tad bit so that he could see what Mastema was all about. Well, aside from the whole... trying to kill everybody thing. Not that Xol wasn't the same way at one time. Maybe married life really did settle you down. "So then... when?"

"Good." She said simply. Her head cocked to the side for a second in confusion, her mind still on the previous topic. "When what?....Oh! Yes...the wedding..." She paused and thought about it. "A month or two per
'aps?" She said. "If it's all the same to ye....I dun really want an extravagant weddin' just something simple, elegant and personal..." She said quietly, looking to him about his thoughts. "Wha' do ye want luv?" She asked, curious.

Xol nodded in agreement. "Indeed, nothing over the top. The smaller and more personal the better. I completely agree." The sooner he knew that it was final and this was the last woman he'd spend his life with the better in his honest opinion. Since the BC had calmed down over the years, he didn't see anyone trying to interfere. And with Mastema pretty much a family man in the Citadel there was no one left to challenge him.

"Hmmm... who to invite, and where to have it at."

She looked to him and smiled, glad for the fact that he agreed with her. As far as she was concerned, she had the same idea as him. She didn't need anyone else, for the remaining days of her life. She was happy with him. So happy. She paused in thought at his question.

"My children, my broth'r ...I'm not sure... not too many people. 'Ell I'd be 'appy with something just the two of us." She said "I'm not sure where.

"I'm leaning towards just the two of us, but if you want to bring the kids then that's perfectly acceptable." Xol nodded once with a smile before rising to his feet. His knees had begun to cramp and it was getting quite uncomfortable. "I've been tempted to go to the Dojo lately... I just don't know how the reception will go. Just feels like we're cooped up here a lot. Not that that's bad of course, because I love spending time with you. Maybe we should get out more though. Mingle?" Xol chuckled, not ever having used that word before. He looked at her with an intense love that he didn't know was possible from his black heart.

She smiled and nodded.

"God...I dun even remember when the last time I was even thar...It's always been 'ere or at the mansion before...." She said, standing. "Le's shower, get dressed an' go take a look?" She suggested, taking his hand and walking towards the shadows to go back to their room. Once in their room she kissed him sweetly before stepping in the shower.

"Yeah... it has been awhile hasn't it. It almost feels like forever ago." He welcomed Phia's hand into his own and followed her through the shadow realm into their room. Phia kissed him, it was the kind of kiss that made you smile. She began walking towards the shower so he let his fingers longingly move along her arm as they separated from each other.

The smile was still plastered on his face as he removed his clothes and stepped into the shower right behind Phia.

Xol looked out over the horizon, his arms folded and hands interlocked at the small of his back. Thoughts of past events sent a calm lull over his mind as he surveyed the land out in front of his Keep. Pock marks, burns, craters, swaths of land carved out, parts of forests obliterated... for what reason? Why had he done all this; for the fun of it? It seemed so childish and was slightly worrying to think his demeanor could change so suddenly that he could wipe a soul off the plane of existence for no other reason than that he had wanted to. This was the same person who was to have children?

"Things will have to change now, won't they..."

He had tried so many times to be "good". And so many times he had failed, for no other reason than he was simply made to be an evil being. Raised to hate, destroy and have no remorse whether or not he or any other living thing died. Now he was to be a father... again. His first sons disappearance was still a mystery to him, but the blame was his all the same. There was no going back and he could not change the past so therefore he was responsible for the 'death' of his firstborn. The same actions he took so much pride in, the same cocky and unabashed actions that put himself and others at risk... would have to stop. Xol would eventually be a father again and could he bear the thought of leaving Phia, his child, or even children, alone? Without someone to protect them or show them the love only he could? No, no he couldn't. However, there was still a thorn in his side.

"Draeken."

The voice seethed hatred and disgust as it left Xol's lips. He knew the man would stop at nothing to either tear down what he had taken so long to accomplish or destroy everything he could before he himself fell. It was no lie that he had basically stolen Phia from under D's decaying nose. Was anyone that disillusioned to think he wouldn't be back? No one stays dead in this land... not forever anyway. It was his only chance and he took it and succeed in realizing love on a whole different level. One he could not walk away from now. Now the internal conflict begins. Take one last shot to stop D so that he can live in peace, but possibly risk losing his own life and leaving the things he loved behind... or sitting back and letting everything fall to pieces around him. If he didn't step up would would? This always seemed to be the conundrum facing Xol. Who else was going to be the hero? A sigh, burdened with stress and worry escaped his throat. What was he to do?

Phia had walked up behind her husband. Her steps were quiet, they were always so when her heavy boots were absent from her feet. She had a long silk slip on, the material, fluttered around her moving form. She woke a few moments after Xol had left her side in their bed. Theirs. It had taken sometime but Phia had grown accustomed to saying the proper pronouns, after Xol had relentlessly convinced her that they shared everything now. Well, almost everything, Phia mostly left the lab to Xol and he had done the same with the library which had grown considerably since her arrival at the keep.

She stopped just behind Xol, she could sense his worry, his fear, his stress. She knew he worried about his past haunting him. He worried about keeping her safe. Xol had seemed to be so much more careful around her since she explained to him that once her body was destroyed, she would be unable to return. No copies, no clones, no regenerations would work. She knew that scared the man who had a back-up for everything. She reached out and took his hands, practically prying them apart and with one in each of her own she wrapped her arms around him, nuzzling her face between his shoulder-blades.

"Leave my ex-'usband alone...'e an' I ar' on amicable terms...." She muttered softly into his back. "An stop worrying so much...I am righ' 'ere...you'll make yerself sick..." A chilly breath came against his back as she sighed. He was always so ready for conflict with the outside world. Always wanting to strike first if there was an enemy and always wanting to create one if there were none. It made Phia worry herself, she could not raise the dead, nor create them in a lab, she had no magics like that or skills. She was a doctor, she could fix, and mend, repair and sometimes replace, but she could not renew life. She was not Xol, Mastema or Draeken. What would happen if Xol died? Draeken had, and she had made a deal the first time, and the second he somehow was back on his own. But what could Phia do if Xol died? Nothing, and that terrified her just the same.

He smiled, feeling her arms wrap around his waist. It was amazing how comforting another persons touch could be if you truly gave yourself to them. Xol imagined her as the yin to his yang. Hearing her words did not give him comfort though.

"Phia... I wish I could. You know him better than I though. Do you think he will let us be, or is your former love scheming for our end? It's something that plays through my mind on a nearly constant basis. Perhaps it's because I'm being the jealous overprotective husband type, I don't know... I just feel like something is askew. There's a different aura in the air and I don't like how it makes me feel.

Xol turned in his lovers arms, facing her so that their faces were but mere inches apart. It was still an awe inspiring sensation that one person could make so many things right in your life. That Phia could make him thirst for life again, instead of wanting to simply take it from others. That's what worried him the most, how everything could come crashing down if this woman in front of him somehow was taken away.

"I'm trying love, I truly am. It's just the chaotic nature of this place. There's always repercussions for everything it seems. Do know that I'm trying though."

He smiled, gently kissing her on her lips. Every time he did so it felt like the first time. Xol knew no one could ever make him feel the same way. Losing that was not an option. Ever.

"I sensed no ill-will from him when I visited Aria an' Devon las' ... I think 'e is 'urt but.... 'e doesn' want to 'arm us. Draeken loves 'is children very much, an' 'e wouldn' take their moth'r from them...." She said softly. She knew this to be true, but there wasn't a fiber in her being that wouldn't destroy anyone or anything that tried to take her children from her. She took his face in her hands when he turned and looked upon his face with a small smile.

"Act an' there will be reprocussions certainly, but keep to yerself and...there is no certainty what will come....I know yer tryin' darlin' I assue you I do." She stated, returning the kiss he set on her lips. She too felt the newness of the kiss everytime, it was a characteristic of love. There was so much of it that it could not simply be kept in the heart, so it strained, and swirled and thrashed, finally releasing with a kiss. She took a small step back from him, taking his form in, one that she had seen every day and night, and yet it still caused the love within her heart to swell. He was hers and she was his and that was what she needed most. Her mind wandered back to the conversation at hand, one particular phrase reminded her of what she needed to tell him, though, his reaction, she was unsure of.

"Thar is somethin' askew..." She started, though immediately regretting it, it wasn't quite the best way to start. "And you dun like it because it makes ye nervous an' unsure, two thin's ye most definently 'ate being." No...that wasn't right either. How impossible could it be to tell him? She had done this before. "Call it a gift of sorts...." She started, then looked away and sighed, finally back to him, taking his hand in her own, then bringing it to her stomach. An odd blend of energy stirred at his touch, her own and his, two signatures infact. Phia searched his face carefully, watching for his reaction.
