Flaming_Ninja_Dragon the music still didnt come in for county band and the concert is april 4th. lucky us. oh boy! i cant wait til twilight princess is out and a certain someone completes the legend of zelda music! *hint* *hint* HAHAAH xD I'll work on that now, it was done except I was missing a line...

Chocovash3 midgetmobb I play clarinet!! Im on my third year. Im a froshman in high school and in the marching band and concert band at my school. SHORT CLARINET PLAYERS ROCK!!!! o yea Im only 4'10" yay!!!! Why do you have to be so mean, lol. Just cuz I'm a senior who's 6'2" :C O_O 6'2!????? I'm 4'11....I think............................. but short clarinet players rock xP! because we're short and proud!!!! WHEEE

we had our first county band practice today. i can pretty much say that it was the worst band-related incident of my life. i learned three things today though.
1. i cant sight read worth crap (i struggled with quarter notes)
2. i can only play things ive heard quite a few times and with somebody else.
3. i dont know rythums and when i can play the song i play it well.
any tips to help me besides regular practice with my clarinet?
P.S. we watched drumline today in reading class because we were bored. i remind myself of the main character on it.

Does anyone have advice on squeaking? I squeak and squack and almost do all the time! Is it just my reed, or me? ninja I've got contest on Saturday- and I really don't want to squeak then!!!!

it could be you have a bit too much of your mouthpiece in, or your reed is soft, crap etc etc... sweatdrop

SqueeSciuridaeAiluropoda I'm in Torrington High School marching band, and the THS concert band.. I've never marched before... except at band camp, where the "newbies" were .... "broken in", so to speak...... I've been playing for about 3 or 4 months now! sweatdrop It's so much more fun to play than violin! (even though I love my violin deeply) Hello!...i.just.joined.this.guild...3.miutes.ago eek lol im.17.a.junior...playing.since.6th.grade...obviously.im. im.a.Clary.Playa..at.South.Jones......um.guess.im. introduced.now mrgreen

Thanks for the advice, turned out I had too LITTLE mouthpeice! I didn't squeak at ALL!!!!! *dances with clarinet* Boy we did good at contest, gold! My bd was so thrilled. He took the plaque we got down the aisles of the flute and clarinet bus, we screamed, danced, touched it, giggled, and repeated the process. 4laugh We had a good time.

I feel young. most of the people here are high schoolers. I am an 8th grader who started playing in 6th grade. and to Fire_Neko324, Clarinet will become a section of your life, the longer you play. biggrin

hiya!
How are my fellow clarinet players?!
Well........
I've been playing it since like fifth grade, so like seven years. I was in marching band...*sniff* but I'm now a senior and it was my last year.
BUT I also play bass clarinet in the symphonic band at my school.
AND WE'RE GOING TO FLORIDA IN TWO AND A HALF WEEKS!
Whooooooo!
Enough about me! How about all of you guys??
