Hiro took one look at the snowy mountains and the igloos, and turned around. The boy that proclaim to the be world's greatest trainer not only thought about turning back around and trying this island again, but actually turned his back to do so.
Ice and cold, two things that didn't sit well with him at all. Besides, what strong pokemon was found in ice, and he knew the answer to that.
And his head drops as he stops and counts his fingers.
"Icy pokemon that are strong, Absol has a thick fur coat and might be up there. Cubchoo turns into something quite strong and fearsome and its' a icy pokemon. Sneasel, is another one worth going for and it likes snow. Snorunt turns into something worth having, and it's icy, and then there is ...."
And with that the boy turned back to face the mountain, because, he remember a very particular icy legendary dragon that could be hidden in that there hills.
Thus, Hiro wasn't going to run away ...he was heading towards the ...cold ...cold mountain.
Hiro stopped again and started back to counting his fingers.
"Let's see, reasons not to go up that mountain."
"It's cold, Blight won't like it. It's cold, and very few trees, so Despair won't like it, and I will have to walk through snow. Neither of my Pokemon have a particular advantage to snow, and Blight will have problems in the cold, so."
Hiro turned his back on the mountain again. Though it only lasted for a second as he actually whines.
"Kyurem might be on that mountain, and if I capture that Pokemon ...no one will be able to beat me."
"As the world's strongest trainer I have no choice."
Hiro would turn around and then start his descent up the mountain.
"I will have to conqueror this mountain."
Thus, he began his trip into the cold with his teeth chattering and his coat closed quite firmly over his body. Hiro was already regretting this choice.
(Yes, and it's even a game. I learned about it last summer .....murder)

((Ah, I got it. As far as the encounter, I realize I didn't encounter any pokemon but I got distracted by studying for my online class. I'll edit the numbers to make them go backwards instead though.))
Kiani had a skip in her step as she made her way back, Lily looked at her oddly though. Kiani didn't care. It had taken her three tries, but she had finally completed her mission. She hoped her instructor would be pleased that she had finally finished.

Kiani and Lily continued walking down the path. Kiani knew that she'd need to stop at the pokemon center and heal up her pokemon before heading back to her classroom.
Lucky for Alexander, a Lotad was slumbering on a lily pad in the bog, It was snoring away and the boy could creep away from him. If he didn't disturb it, the pokemon wouldn't bother him. He was free to continue forward!
The Corsola would like he was being persuaded by the Riolu nodding for a second until the pokemon shook his head frantically and then scowled. Wait a minute! That had been a close one! He had almost been convinced of this pokemon's lies! The Corsola took a step back and then tossed some water into the air. The air suddenly dropped to freezing temperature until the water formed an Icicle Spear! The masked Corsola grinned. ">Good will prevail with my Spear of Justice~<" he exclaimed before tossing it forward at the Riolu~ It seemed like the battle was just about to start!
Tekken yelped as he tried to jump out of the way. (Bruhhh, when I thought you were chill I didn't think about this!) This battle didn't start off at a high point, that icicle looked rather large. He needed to be careful or otherwise he'd be in a mess of trouble! (Good doesn't attack tourists bro!)
"Um."

The Numel was beyond reasoning. She ignored the Barrier that had formed around the Mudkip. All the fire pokemon could think about was how her brother was dead and this water type was alive. That was her big concern. It didn't matter what life it led. It was time to face the consequences. She began to Howl her anguish. The grief. The despair. All so her opponent could feel and hear the pain.
Meren watched as the Numel began to wail. She gritted her teeth further as it began to hold the tears back. She tried fighting back the wall of grief inside herself. She lowered her head, as if penitent to a wail or sob heard crying from a funeral.
Tao trembled and shook at the scene. He may not understand pokemon but by whatever made him could feel the emotion of the scene. His shoulders tensed as the scene progressed.

Mudkip [F] Meren, Lv 2 Nature: Timid Bio: Meren was given to Tao just before being shipped off to Akumu academy. She hands a good amount of teamwork to Tao, as she is very obedient, but she never stands up for herself. Her introversion might have been caused by some sort of abuse prior to meeting Tao. Meren is unsure of what to think of Tao so far, since the only experiences they really share is a boat ride and a pokemon battle. Hiro would barely begin his ascent up the mountain before suddenly being assaulted. Well... almost. A snowball whizzed by Hiro's head, brushing far closer to his ear than one might want, and splattered against the ground.
A sudden burst of laughter rang out through the cold air. The source? A Snorunt crouched behind a nearby rock, peeking over the jagged edge with mischief in his eyes. He knelt down again, scooping up more snow to throw at Hiro. He wanted to fight... but he was more interested in having a bit of fun first.
Kiani would be able to feel something shifting beneath her feet, but nothing would appear in front of her. As it was, the Diglett she could have encountered was actually just below the ground, burrowing into oblivion.

(So it doesn't cause confusion, it is your attack turn so have Tekken still attack even with the Icicles being tossed at him. )
The Icicle may have hit the Riolu but it wasn't barely a glancing blow. Because of the unique nature of the move, since the pokemon hadn't avoided it, even though it was the Corsola's defensive turn, the Icicles kept popping out to shoot at the pokemon!

In the Garden of Monsters
Something was moving under Kiani's feet and she was a bit unnerved. However, since Lily didn't seem bothered and Kiani couldn't see a pokemon anywhere, she decided to ignore it and continue on her journey.
The Numel looked like the spill of her grief had refueled her reason for this battle. This was the way to take revenge for her brother. That in mind, she began to run away to avoid whatever was coming next!
Peyton showed relief when the attack did little more than harm his Riolu. Well at least the odds of it actually doing anything worthwhile went down. "Alright, use Vacuum Wave!" he commanded, Tekken charging a fragment of Aura in his hands. He'd show this silly cosplayer who was the real deal!

Alexander didn't bother with paying attention to the sleeping lotad. Instead, the boy continued to trudge through the bog. He figured he would eventually find a way back to the academy if he kept moving.
