" ...if your intending to eat my friend there, then I'm afraid I'm going to have to kill you outright, here and now. Nothing personal. You understand dont you?"

Ziginz looked at the man for a moment and then back at the rabbit girl. He lifted his hand and a white glow appeared and spread to her arm. The wound began to heal and the infection in her arm began to further seep out.

"Don't ya'll worry to much about me, I'm just grabing some action where I can find it.Been boring as hell around here anyway so if I can help a pretty thing like her and a strong fellow like you while clowning around with these things, then I might as well make myself useful."

Ziginz smiled as he healed the girl. His way of speaking and tone made him sound like all this wasn't realy all that surprising or unwanted. He didn't even seem concerned with the undead plague around him, nor did he seem effected by it's undead creations. He looked over to the dog that was growling and extended a kind hand.

"We'll fix you up when we're done to, ok puppy? Then we will figure out how to get the hell outta dodge if ya get my drift."

Maximos, a man of shadows and darkness and the like couldnt help but flinch. That was light magic there. It was holy and bright and he had seen more than his unfair share of loved ones blasted into agonizing bits by Luminous' crusading clerics. But Madison was not burning, through the dried blood he watched her skin heal in exactly the way he couldnt possibly have done. And the Shadow couldnt help smiling.

"Don't ya'll worry to much about me, I'm just grabing some action where I can find it.Been boring as hell around here anyway so if I can help a pretty thing like her and a strong fellow like you while clowning around with these things, then I might as well make myself useful."

This man, he had a way of speaking and a certain swagger about him that seemed to entirely separate him from his surroundings. It wasnt stupidity, and it wasnt denial, rather it seemed the sort of relaxed calm that came with understanding and honest acceptance. An honest sort of worry free attitude.

And Maximos for his part found it comforting. He meant exactly what he had said earlier, and as this stranger seemed to have no desire to eat Madison, Maximos had no desire to appear a threat. With a flick of his wrist he flicked his sword over his shoulder and forward, before it completed even on rotation every part of the sword reminiscent of a blade simply dissolved into black dust which was scattered in all directs. Everything, save for a small flat purple gem embedded in the sword hilt which fell squarely into Maximos' palm and was immediately slipped into his inside jacket pocket.

"That's very kind. I thank you sir." Maximos said with a bright smile, and immediately took a very polite and very formal bow.

Jabberwocky was making an awful amount of noise and Maximos was about to say something, but the kind stranger seemed to have the situation bravely in hand. No many people would extend their hand so willingly to creature attempting to be so threatening. And yet, the way the man did it made it only seem natural that 'Wocky would accept him.

"We'll fix you up when we're done to, ok puppy? Then we will figure out how to get the hell outta dodge if ya get my drift."

Except that. Maximos awkwardly scratched the back of his head and stepped a bit closer to the dog incase it decided to make any rude reactions that needed preventing. Shadow-dog's and holy magics didnt mix very well.

"You'll have to excuse him, Jabberwocky is very defensive of his Lady." Maximos then gestured towards Madison and said. "This is Madison. And we're actually searching for someone hidden in this very town."

He gestured around the room, and then his hand aimed squarely back at Madison. "Her. Or at the very least her memories. We have reason to believe there are files, somewhere in this station regarding her past. Unfortunately these officers dont seem to have realized they are permanently off duty."

The Shadow rubbed his shoulder idly, where the zombie shooter's bullet had grazed moments earlier but continued to meet the other man with a warm smile. "I think we'll need to secure those files before we can effect our escape. That is, of course, if your both agreeable."

Leaving without attaining the very goal of this adventure just could not be done, but neither could Maximos ask a stranger to risk his life on behalf of the young bunny. Likewise, neither could Maximos simply invite someone to the search of Madison's life that she did not want. Smiling, Maximos paused to let either individual speak.

A small tingle fell on Madison’s arm, it was almost ticklish as she saw a soft pale glow hit it. The skin underneath her bandage almost seemed cured now thanks to the stranger. It was moving now, and it didn’t even hurt! The rabbit moved her arm about happily and gave the man a quick nod; afterall she didn’t want to interrupt their conversation.

"Don't ya'll worry to much about me, I'm just grabing some action where I can find it.Been boring as hell around here anyway so if I can help a pretty thing like her and a strong fellow like you while clowning around with these things, then I might as well make myself useful."

The man’s language only caused the rabbit to raise an eyebrow. She practically really couldn’t understand him as he seemed to have a very unique way of talking. And did he just call Madison a pretty thing? That was a definite hard thing to even say considering that unlike her counterpart Max, the front side of her was covered in dried blood and black ichor along with zombie parts and probably other unspeakable matters. She was definitely far from being what anyone considered pretty. Shrugging, the rabbit seemed to let it be as Maximos seemed to relax a bit in his stance. He was still very formal, but the man didn’t seem to pose a threat anymore, unlike their cannibalistic friend that they had ran into earlier.

"That's very kind. I thank you sir."

That tone seemed to settle it down quite a bit. At least with the rabbit that is, as for the Shadow dog he seemed to be quite the opposite. This seemed to be quite a different scenario for him as the man still posed a threat against his lady.

"We'll fix you up when we're done to, ok puppy? Then we will figure out how to get the hell outta dodge if ya get my drift."

With the man’s hand extended, Jabberwocky only growled even louder. Perhaps the man was moving too quickly for the dog to comprehend. The dog almost began to attempt to bite the felon; he was now treading on dangerous water. With a slight glint in the canine’s purple eye, it almost looked as though he was ready to pounce and rip out the jugular.

“Jabberwocky! That’s enough!” Madison clapped her hands together as though to make an order. Instantly, the dog stopped his movements and ran over to where the rabbit had been standing. He seemed like a completely different dog when he was around the girl, as his tail was yet again wagging happily as though he was completely innocent. “Come on, let’s see what we can find.”

"You'll have to excuse him, Jabberwocky is very defensive of his Lady."

As the two men began to discuss matters, the dynamic duo began to search the room. She wasn’t entirely sure what she was supposed to even be searching for but she was looking for something. Her arms slowly scanned over each desk and began to ruffle through various piles of dusty files and paperwork.

"This is Madison. And we're actually searching for someone hidden in this very town."

As the rabbit heard her name she stood back up from her leaning position on the desk and gave the two of them a slight wave than returned to her papers. Beside her, the dog only continued to wag his tail in a dumbfound fashion as dust began to fly about the room. Frustrated, the woman slammed her searches onto the desk and folded her arms.

"If I were files...Where would I be...?"

Looking down, Madison caught notice of her dog. Smiling, she gave him a slight pet on the top of his head. For some reason he gave the rabbit some sense of hope, very similar to the amount that Max did. As the dog caught a small scent of her hand the dog seemed to stop wagging is tail and moving. He was no longer happy and cheerful, but rather he was focused. Very similar to the famous tail of Alice chasing the bunny rabbit down a hole, Madison began to follow the dog as though her life depended on it. She had no idea that dogs had such a unique sense of smell.

Madison found that the two of them had ventured through a large mass of filing cabinets and desks. It was a maze, filled with nothing more than history. Cobwebs and dust flew as the two of them continued their merry way as each of the passing sections were beginning to be full with some sort of life again. Each of the desks seemed to have been deserted in the middle of some sort of work as pens, mugs, moldy donuts, and other office supplies sat on various desks.

AWOOOOOO!

With a loud howl, Jabberwocky came to a halt. His wolf like sound echoed between the deserted walls and Madison froze. Before her was a separate office, unlike the cubicles that she had seen beforehand. A large broken glass window served as a wall between them and the mysterious room. And yet, it didn’t seem so mysterious. Moving closer, Madison walked into the office and began to look around. This was a place of importance, as even somebody’s name was scratched onto the door. And yet, the rabbit seemed to recognize every moment.

...Was your dad mad at your mom...?

The woman froze and looked around her for a moment. She could have sworn she heard a voice. Yet, she was the only one standing in the room full of dust. The rabbit didn’t move, her hands shook violently as she continued to examine the desk.

...Are you they sure aren’t you’re back not hungry...

...We’re murder going evidence somewhere suicide special now...

The voices were overlapping now and Madison began to hold her head. Everything began to spin slightly where she soon fell down onto the floor to her dog’s level. Looking up slightly, the woman sat and noticed that there was a chair sitting directly across from the desk. It was slightly faded compared to the rest of the furniture as it almost looked like it was well used. Small speckles of blood and scratches seemed to cover the varnish. With her finger, the woman quietly began to glide her finger across the dirt as though it were an easel.

“Wocky...” She seemed almost entranced with what she was doing now. Drawing ever so small circles on where the dirt sat peacefully. She was trying to piece it all together, as it was obvious that this place was part of her own history. There were just so many pieces missing that it was hard to understand entirely.

“...I’ve been here before...Maybe...what we are looking for is in here. Don’t you think?” Turning her head, the rabbit looked at the dog who then began to bark very loudly with a wagging tail. If the two couldn’t find her via sound, than she was positive that it was going to attract something else. Calmly, she stood to her feet and began to look around the office.

Although she may have been far from terrified, the rabbit knew that there was no turning back now.

Ziginz stood back up and nodded to the lady who he saw as attractive even in her blood stained state, but he was weird about stuff like that. He turned back to the man and looked at the wound in his shoulder but noticed his slight defensive posture.

"This is Madison. And we're actually searching for someone hidden in this very town."

He gestured around the room, and then his hand aimed squarely back at Madison. "Her. Or at the very least her memories. We have reason to believe there are files, somewhere in this station regarding her past. Unfortunately these officers dont seem to have realized they are permanently off duty.

Ziginz looked around and noded, trying to get a feel of the situation. He looked up to see the girl and her dog walking away but figured she was just going to look around a bit more.

The Shadow rubbed his shoulder idly, where the zombie shooter's bullet had grazed moments earlier but continued to meet the other man with a warm smile. "I think we'll need to secure those files before we can effect our escape. That is, of course, if your both agreeable."

"I can fix that shoulder for ya if you would like. My ability isn't anything divine or demonic if your worried about that. It just sends Ki into your body and then your boyd naturaly converts it into what ya need to heal faster, or so that's how I was told it works."

He didn't move his hand toward the man yet, not sure if he was willing to accept his offer. Ziginz could tell by this man's abilities and unique KI that he probably wasn't a normal human or any kind of celestial being, but at this point he didn't sense any evil intent from the man, and that was good enough for him. In a normal situation, Ziginz would probably challenge him to a fight, but this wasn't a normal situation, and a freindly fight wouldn't help them right now.

" If that is the situation then the best help I can probably give you is keepin' any more of these things off your back 'til you find what your lookin' for. In my experience though, it takes lookin' inside yourself to find who you realy are. Even if you don't find what your lookin' for here, I bet the secret is realy inside her."

A moment later he heard Wocky's howl and turned toward where the girl had gone.

"Sounds like we ain't got time to talk about it any further."

"I can fix that shoulder for ya if you would like." Understandably, Maximos was still tense about the idea. It was a shadowcrafting that held his shoulder in place and Noct only knew what the addition of anything bright or possibly light based might do. And yet, the stranger had offered him quite the kindness and it would have been rude to simply deny it, this left the Shadow with quite the conundrum. There was a sort of hesitation on his face like the pause between a breath and words only longer.

"My ability isn't anything divine or demonic if your worried about that." It wasnt that and he felt the need to express it. Max opened his mouth just a fraction to speak, but then closed it as the other man continued.

"It just sends Ki into your boyd and then your body naturaly converts it into what ya need to heal faster, or so that's how I was told it works." Oh! That was different entirely. Ki as Maximos had come to understand was a quasi spiritual and physical sort of energy that came from all living things, and was to his experience harnessed by fighters for a variety of uses. Now, he had assumed that the man before him had some sort of combat capability to have survived this far...but for him to be an actual fighter. Well, that made things all the more interesting! There was no improper setting for a friendly match, but with Madison having run off this was perhaps a bad time. He would have to make mention of it a bit later. In lieu of a spar, Maximos' posture loosened, his smile spread a bit wider across his cheeks and he said, "Oh, excellent! Thank you then, it would be much appreciated."

At which point Maximos leaned in a bit and offered his shoulder. After the deed was done, Maximos would make absolutely sure to bow his head and thank the man as formally as he knew how. But, for the moment he gave the stranger speaking his full attention.

" If that is the situation then the best help I can probably give you is keepin' any more of these things off your back 'til you find what your lookin' for. In my experience though, it takes lookin' inside yourself to find who you realy are. Even if you don't find what your lookin' for here, I bet the secret is realy inside her." Maximos nodded emphatically, and smiling said, "I agree completely."

"I dont think it the files themselves that will bring her back, so much as the experience. This is her first time searching, and she seems to have recalled a few things simply by seeing familiar locations and things. I..." And then he heard Wocky's howl and immediately turned his head toward where Madison had wandered.

"Sounds like we ain't got time to talk about it any further." Maximos laughed softly, and shook his head. "I suppose not."

And then he was off, in a jog after the bunny girl and her shadow dog pet. As always, after a few unwatched seconds Madison had found herself somewhere very far from safety. It was about halfway between here, and there, that Maximos turned to the newest member of their party and spoke, "I have to apologize, I've been terribly rude. My name is Maximos, and its a pleasure to meet you Mister..."

And the Shadow paused mid-sentence, normally this sort of pause was to let the other individual speak and fill in the gap, but for Maximos it was something entirely else. He stopped moving, and turned his head to the side slightly. If it werent for the amount of pain this sound had caused him tonight, he would never have recognized it. But as it was, the sound of shuffling feet and the soft yet pained moan that zombies excused as breath stood out against the ambiance like blood on snow. "Do you hear that?"

Maximos said, at some level hoping it was just his imagination. The ragged breaths and shambling limbs were joined with the sound of metal clanging against metal, and a few weapons cocking.

And he was off, Maximos had absolutely no desire to be rude, but if the undead were on the move again it was very unlikely they were headed for the two men, over the loud canine and the white rabbit. Maximos' right eye ignited a bright white, as if someone had lit a miniature torch in his skull and he all but sprinted down the hall hoping their new companion would follow. Soul Sight would show him where she was, but it could not get him through there any faster, and the tell tale bang of gun fire was already echoing through the empty halls.

-|-

For Madison, her moment of peace lasted almost no time at all. A few moments, perhaps a minute or two, and the first wobbly corpse made its way through the open door. This zombie was immediately followed by several others, and like the undead waiting with everlasting patience in the lobby above, all of these rots were armed and peering over and around rows of cubicles, under desks, and behind filing cabinets. But to make matters worse, the few behind the initial police men in blue were armored. They dressed in padded black outfits and wore helmets with holes and cracks and chips in them and hard plastic masks that protected their gnashing decaying faces. A dozen or so and carried large shields the height of their bodies. Riot shields, which acted as supports, as the zombies shoved the shields clumsily forward then shuffled in behind them and repeated the process. Their automatic side arms rocked forward in their lifeless hands with each stepped and clanged against the inside of the shield providing a staccato beat to their undead march. Test shots were being fired into places the zombies could not easily reach.

These undead formed something of a a wall, slowly, steadily, yet relentlessly advancing, giving the bunny less and less room, and less and less time.

-|-

Provided both men stuck together it was about then they would arrive, swerving around a corner just in time to see the last armored officer slip through the set of double doors that separated the offices from the rest of the station.

Maximos said nothing, he snapped his right hand out and flicked his wrist tossing a small black gem out into the air. The stone seen moments ago coming from his sword, was immediately overtaken by a swatch of black that swirled around the flat gem, stretching and shaping itself until the sword had reformed and was quickly snatched out the air. He offered the other man a nod, and then burst shoulder first into the doors, slamming both open with a boom. With the loud bang, a group of pale and green ugly faces snapped in his direction, the six units immediately inside the door roared and moaned their teeth grinding in eager anticipation of a meal.

Three rushed Maximos, steel flashed but all sight of the Shadow was lost behind tall shields and flailing black flesh. In the same moment another three raced hungrily after Ziginz, frenzy written all over their faces.

Lightly running her fingers over the thin layer of dust, Madison began to examine the paperwork that seemed to be undisturbed by time. There were seven folders, each of which seemed to have a different color to them once and now were nothing more than coffee stained and sun bathed collections of paper and dust. Sitting down on the chair, the rabbit slowly opened the first folder. There, it seemed that there was a file with quite a bit of violent cursive writing to it. Now, even with the rabbit’s elaborate reading skills, it was nothing more than gibberish to her. Frowning at the font, she quickly caught sight of what appeared to be a picture of a man lying on the ground with blood dripping from every inch of him. He seemed to be wearing clothes that were very similar to the undead creatures she had ran into earlier. Perhaps he was once a cop? Well, whatever he was, his picture left nothing more than an uneasy feeling within her stomach.

With a quick toss of the folder, her fingertips fell onto the next. Before she could even get the paper fully exposed her ears perked up. There was something wrong, especially considering that Jabberwocky wasn’t as peaceful as he was when they had entered the room. Stopping, Madison shot her head up to see what was the matter as the sound of his growl filled her delicate appendages. There was a slight sounds of heavy breathing and groans heading her way. Slamming the folder shut, the woman grabbed as many as she could within her arms and attempted to make her way to the door. But despite how quick she may have been, there was a blockage. Standing before her was a horde holding onto what appeared to be riot gear. Jabberwocky’s growls became rather loud as the door had finally become blocked and there was no way out as the plastic shields provided another barrier between them. With a few loud barks, the Shadow canine jumped up as though to try and attack one of them in order to protect his lady. With a loud thunk, Wocky was shot to the side and let out a whine; Jabberwocky was now hurt.

Horror filled Madison’s face as she quickly attempted over to his side. Again, another person was now injured because of her. But despite her efforts, there was no room for her to run in and assist her pooch as they drew even closer. A small whine left his lips as he tried to move, it seemed that he was nothing more than a crippled.

Horror turned to sadness.

Sadness turned to anger.

And that madness was enough to allow Madison to do the drastic.

With her hate fuelling her, the rabbit grabbed down to her boot top and pulled out her dark black pen. The cylinder body seemed to rest ever delicately within her fingers of her right hand as her left arm clutched her gathered files close to her chest. She didn’t seem to really care that some of the wet blood that remained on her body was beginning to soak the files. What she cared more about right now was vengeance.

Even though she was no stranger to this emotion there were some differences than the times before. She was tired, she wasn’t used to constantly being in a situation like the ones she had been facing. She was definitely not a warrior like her friend Maximos. No, Madison was a rabbit experiment who was now gifted with a rather fancy tool.

With eyes tightly closed, the rabbit fell to the ground and attempted to do her best on scribbling random symbols on the ground. None of them seemed to be anything that she had been taught before, because quite frankly she didn’t want the same result as last time. And she was trying everything, circles, spirals, squiggles, and lines! Madison was merely trying to get some sort of an effect. Every mark she made on the floor seemed to give a sharp vibrant glowing purple as before which provided a ray of hope.

As she remained sitting on the floor, the horde moved closer and even some of them broke way from behind the wall. They were quite a bit faster as they were not wearing the clothing that the rest of them were wearing. But rather, they seemed to have orange overalls on that contained various rips and stains. The mere smell of their rotting breath caused her stomach to twist slightly. But, her sights never fell short of the task that was on hand.

Oh please let this work...

She wasn’t thinking of flowing water, she was only hoping that something would happen. For if her spell wasn’t going to work, the rabbit was going to be nothing more than zombie food unless someone broke through the glass window again and came to save the day. That however, seemed just as unlikely.

"I have to apologize, I've been terribly rude. My name is Maximos, and its a pleasure to meet you Mister..."

" Ziginz Zegell, Zigz for short, just don't call me mister, makes me feel old."

Ziginz followed Maximos closely healing his shoulder as they ran. Ziginz could sense empty KI, in other words, Ki that belonged to somthing not truely living but still producing energy.

" Aww hell...."

"Do you hear that?"

Ziginz noded and as Maximos picked up speed so did Ziginz, keeping pace with him. He focused and pinpointed Madison's KI, being the only living thing in the area other then themselves made it rather easy, and turned to tell Maximos but noticed Maximos seemed to know exactly where he was going. Ziginz sensed strange power coming from Maximos' eye and figured it was some occular power that helped him track Madison.

" Just full of surprises ain't ya?"

The two came around the conor in time to see the last of the zombies entering the room ahead. Ziginz cracked his knuckles and noded to Maximos.

An orb of Ki appeared in Ziginz's hand, as he clutched the orb it changed shape into a sword of flowing KI. Ziginz took the blade in both hands and after a few seconds it took a more structured shape and looked less unstable and far sharper. Ziginz rushed at the three approaching him and with a single swift cut, slashed through the three undead and the sheilds they were useing to protect themselves. With this Ziginz commensed his massacre cutting down any undead in his path. After a few seconds he finaly caught sight of Madison scribbleing on the ground. Seemed like a bad time to draw but who was he to judge. For all he knew she was prepareing some spell of ability. Regardless, she was far from safe, but fortunately she was also kneeling.

" Madison stay down!!!"

Ziginz pointed his blade foward and feed a huge amount of KI into it. After about 6 seconds and makeing sure she had stayed down, he made one last push of KI into the blade causeing it to explode into many smaller shards that cut and peirced many of the Zombies in the room and clearing a path to the bunny girl. Ziginz grited his teeth as some blood driped from his hand. He quickly started healing his hand as he ran toward Madison to protect her hopeing Maximos wasn't far behind.

"Sorry it took us so long Madison. Damn Zombies got the jump on us."

For Madison things were not going very well. Zombies were moving in, there were explosions and gunfire. And this glowing purple scribble beneath her was serving absolutely no purpose other than being a pretty light. But the bunny wasnt giving up. She was hoping, and wishing and trying against the impossible to make something out of this nothing. There was a word for that, when a being sends its hopes and dreams out through a medium such as that brush and asks for something. Its called praying.

Her answer came in the form of silence. As far as she could see the immediate area around her went very still. She would not be able to feel them, but she would see two small arms reach over her shoulders, and two small pale hands rest over her hands grabbing the paintbrush with her, and then a voice spoke to her. It was a soft voice belonging to a child. It was faintly audible, and seemed to be echoing from somewhere very far off. And yet, it just may be familiar. It depended entirely on how much she remembered that purple haired boy from her dream.

"Its like this..." He said, with something of a giggle. And the figures and shapes and scribbles began to move and crawl across the ground of their own accord forming...

"Madison stay down!!!"

Reality came crashing back. The noise of nearly a dozen zombies falling into gory chunky bits, mixed the sound of a few more undead moaning and shuffling, and the distant sounds of combat. Everything was alive, everything was moving! Something bright and purple raced beneath her and around her, and all at once she would feel something shove her down.

There was an explosion. And when it passed, the last of the undead between her and Ziginz would have be in their death throes, and the bunny would find herself surrounded. There were only four of them, and they were about as crudely drawn as possible, they were what they were. Four stick figures, with round purple shields and crudely drawn lines for swords. They lacked absolutely any detail, with splotches and chips in their frame as if someone had literally taken a purple crayon sketch and given it life. They even existed only in two dimensions becoming almost entirely flat when they turned. One stick knight slowly removed his flat square arm from Madison's back letting her set up, at which point all four knights took a bow and took up defensive positions around her, shields raised and swords at the ready.

Not a single stick figure moved to attack Ziginz as he approached. Seconds later, a nearby filing cabinet was shoved aside and Jabberwocky came running through the opening followed by Maximos. The Shadow wore a few new blood stains, but no new injuries, and he immediately tossed aside a riot shield with several large holes in its top half from where shards of explosive KI tore through it. Maximos approached, stopped and immediately cocked an eyebrow at Madison's new guard. "Oh my. Did you do that?"

Another set of dry lifeless cries echoed down the hall. "Nevermind. It appears we're still short on time. Did you find the files?"

Suddenly, everything fell silent.

There was nothing but darkness and the light purple glow from her markings.

Along Madison’s pale skin a set of hands seemed to rest on her own. They were not ones that belonged to anyone she had met as of recent. The hairs on her skin stood on end as she heard the faint whisper of a boy from behind her. Slowly, with their hands intertwined the two of them began to move in unison. It wasn’t even her that was doing it, but rather the pale set of the hands that should have not reached her own arms. And then there was a sound that managed to break the void that even sent a large chill down her spine.

Giggle.

"Its like this..."

Her crimson red eyes widened rather widely as the sensation of familiarity hit her. She couldn’t quite put her finger on it, but she was almost certain she knew the ownership of the voice. But a certain sense of guilt fell over the rabbit. She only hoped it wasn’t who she thought it could have been.

Is that you, No-

"Madison stay down!!!"

Almost like shattering glass, Madison awoke from her daydream. There was more gore and mayhem surrounded her as loud screeches and moans filled the air. However, despite how still she was in actuality, the room began to move for her. Holding onto her head with her armed hand of the pen, the girl tumbled to the side as the large whoosh of life and liveliness seemed to practically knock the wind out of her.

BAM!

Instantly, there was an explosion which cause a large purple cloud to fill the room. Moving her head to the side, Madison only caught sight of what appeared to be her surrounded by stickmen knights. It seemed that despite Ziginz aid, she really didn’t need much help as the last of the undead had fallen on the ground.

"Sorry it took us so long Madison. Damn Zombies got the jump on us."

Madison looked up as she saw that the crayon like guards moved his weaponry as the stranger made his way closer. Almost resembling what a student who had been shoved to the ground by a bully with both folders tightly pressed against her chest and pen in hand. With very shaky hands, the woman stood brushed some of her crispy stained hair out of her face. The man seemed generally concerned as he made his way closer to her. A faint glow was beginning in his hand that he had used to fix her arm earlier.

“I’m fine, really. There’s no need for that.” Pushing herself off the floor the rabbit stood in the middle of the circle of her protection. As she stood to her feet, she quickly returned her pen back to its resting place on the top of her boot. Almost on an automatic reaction, the makeshift knights bowed and remained still in the ready position as the rabbit spoke.

With a loud screech on the floor, two more familiar faces entered the room; a rather excited looking Jabberwocky and a slightly damped Shadow. A faint smile fell on her face as she witnessed that the two were okay. Even her canine looked as though he had not received any injuries now as his tail waved widely. Just as Max ceased his stepping, so did Wocky’s excitement as the two of them bore witness to the collection of reinforcements in the room.

"Oh my. Did you do that?"

“I think so...” Madison wasn’t sure if she had the right to even said that she did that, afterall she seemed to get help from somewhere. But nevertheless, they were there, and the rabbit had no clue how to make them disappear. Inching pass them, Madison stumbled forward on almost the exact same moment as the shrieks entered through the hallways. There was definitely no getting away from these things.

"Nevermind. It appears we're still short on time. Did you find the files?"

Madison gave a quick few nods in response, but there was a slight problem. She was looking rather faint. Instead of being her normal average self, she seemed almost tired. In the last hour, Madison had performed two major spells. And on top of that, she had spent most of her time trying her hardest to try and not get eaten. Normally, this wasn’t something she was used too, thus it was physically draining her both physically and mentally. This was the downfall for being on an adventure.

“Where too?” Despite her exhaustion, Madison smiled. She wasn’t going to let herself fall over, the rabbit was going to keep on moving as best as she could. And now that she had a hold of what she was looking for, she just needed to get somewhere safe so she could examining them further. There was no time for her to allow herself to give up.

Not yet.

Not now.

Ziginz looked down at his hand and scratched his head. No reason to alert her to his injury, after all it was his own fault for being so reckless. he was just happy that in the mist of the fight he hadn't lost his cool or got caught up in the masacre. Last thing they needed was for him to get....excited. Ziginz looked down to notice the tiny purple stick figures near madison. He knelt down to examine them and was rathered infatuated with them until the sound of more moans came down the hallway.

"Nevermind. It appears we're still short on time. Did you find the files?"

“Where too?”

Ziginz could tell she was tired, her physical energy was greatly diminished. Ziginz could give her some of his but with what little time they had, he decided a quick exit was a better idea. He ran over to a wall that he hoped led outside and placed a hand on it. He didn't sense any undead on the other side, so he drew back his arm, filled his fist with KI, and with a punch created a "backdoor".

"I suggest we vamos to a quiter place. I can get us about 5 or 6 blocks away in about 5 seconds....but I'm gonna have to carry ya'll...it's complicated"

He held out his hand to the three and was ready to far jaunt them all away. With that power he could travel long distances with a single step, though he was limited to a few steps a day. He kept an eye out for undead making sure they didn't get the drop on them.

Madison gave a quick few nods in response, but here face told a different story than the simple bobbling motion. There was something empty in it, vacant. Madison looked half here, and half not and about to tip that balance into a full absence. He noted the distinct coppery sweet smell of fresh blood. Madison seemed healthy, he was uninjured thanks to Zigs...that was it, Zigs must have taken a cut someplace. Without any healing aid he could only hope to offer the man some bandages and salve when they stopped. For the moment though, Maximos looked at Madison, then looked at her hands. And after reading the name Harrisburg on the label of the folder in her hands shook his head.

“Where too?” Maximos looked at Ziginz, then back at Madison and said. "Hold for just one moment. I'll be right back."

While Ziginz effected them a new exit, Maximos jogged back in to the office proper. There were filing cabinets at each desk, and a full case log in alphabetical order against the wall. Closed cases. Cold cases. Solved cases. He skimmed until he found H, slid open the draw, rifled through and then ran back to the group just in time to see the Zigs bring the wall down.

"I suggest we vamos to a quiter place." Maximos immediately nodded. "Agreed."

"I can get us about 5 or 6 blocks away in about 5 seconds..." Maximos was already a pale man, this face was made even more evident in the dim light and with red and green viscera on parts of his clothing. But as Zigs suggested that, Maximos if possible grew even more pale.

"...but I'm gonna have to carry ya'll...it's complicated." Maximos' eyes widened and his free hand automatically moved to hold his stomach as if it were about to attempt to escape.

"No!" He said with a little more ferver than he meant to. "No no," He immediately followed with, in a softer tone, attempting to slip in gentle albeit somewhat nervous laughter. "I dont think thats necessary, beside we dont know what effect that could have on our rabitteen friend here. We're both strong young men, a little exercise and a little practice could do us good! I'm sure...125 Maple Ridge Lane, is very close by."

Without any explanation, Maximos pressed the file he had acquired into Madison's hands, and said. "Madison, you look queasy. If we get hit by another massive crowd and you havent the strength to stand, you could fall and get trampled...or worse. How about I carry you!"

She really was weakened, but the fact that had almost nothing to do with the offer to carry her was not at all mentioned. In truth, Maximos had something equivalent to a deathly allergy to absolutely any form of instantaneous or magical, supernatural, or otherwise greatly enhanced travel other than some magically enhanced forms of flight. By the time they landed five or six blocks away, Maximos would have lost half the dinner he and Madison had eaten just a while ago, and he would be curled up in a ball trying to make the world stop spinning. Instead of trying to explain the condition or its cause to either of the others present...and being thoroughly embarrassed...Maximos said. "Ziginz, how would feel about taking point, while the knights here and I take the rear?"

It was sudden, but Maximos flicked his sword out of his hand and into the air where it simply hung, as if caught by an unseen pair of hands, then righted itself so that it hovered beside him. Unless Madison protested, Maximos would lean in, place a hand behind her back and with a sweeping motion attempt to take her legs out from under her and carry the maiden in his arms. Because having his hands full somehow meant he couldnt port anywhere. "Does that sound alright?"

{{Sorry about the delay, I lost track of the posting order sweatdrop }}

Maximos quickly left the room for a moment as the newfound party member began to fend off hordes from re-entering their room. During this time, Madison held back for a moment and examined the door way. Everything seemed very familiar to her as she stood still. She may have not have been very useful, but her concentration was on other things. There was something very unsettling about this place, as an itch began to form in the back of her head where she couldn’t scratch. And the itch was even making her kind of dizzy.

However, it wasn’t long till another conversation broke out between the two men. There seemed to be quite a bit of panic coming from the Shadowman once the words teleportation managed to flutter through the howls of beasts from the hallways. Even the rabbit found it a little strange about his concern revolving the use of teleportation. She had never have heard him grow so concerned since she had obtained her last injury.

"I dont think thats necessary, beside we dont know what effect that could have on our rabitteen friend here. We're both strong young men, a little exercise and a little practice could do us good! I'm sure...125 Maple Ridge Lane, is very close by."

Without even having a chance to respond, Max placed a file folder within her hands which she soon quickly held close to her as though she were keeping something safe. It seemed quite a bit thicker than the last one she had grabbed a hold of; perhaps the Shadow had found some additional information to their case!

"Madison, you look queasy. If we get hit by another massive crowd and you havent the strength to stand, you could fall and get trampled...or worse. How about I carry you!"

“I’m fine. Really.” Madison gave him a quick smile. Despite the fact that she wasn’t feeling like one hundred gold pieces, she really didn’t want to make them worry. Especially considering that she had quite a bit of issues within that day revolving around her health. And she was almost positive that things were going to be alright. Besides, it was just a dizzy spell after all.

"Ziginz, how would feel about taking point, while the knights here and I take the rear?"

"Does that sound alright?" With a flick of his sword Max seemed to be prepared for battle. He seemed absolutely fierce with that sword at his side. Slowly, he made his way beside Madison as though to hold onto her by the small of her back.

“I’m fine, I can do i-“ As she spoke the woman stumbled slightly as though she were intoxicated or something. As she tumbled the woman almost instinctively grabbed onto Max’s arm for support which with the addition of him sweeping to carry her, the woman fell into his arms peacefully. And thanks to her poor nutrient, the rabbit was fairly light which could probably be viewed as a blessing since they were about to run into a horde of unspeakable nature.

Speaking of which, where were they?

Scream.

There they were!

And they weren’t waiting for them to hurry up and make a group decision. Since Zinginz was in the position of leader in the front, instantly some began to leap for him for good measure. This time they seemed a little different, instead of having riot gear or even guns, they were in orange jump suits with their hands bound together. The undead only seemed to have their teeth to use for a weapon as they attempted to chomp down on his flesh. With no sense of organization with these creature’s plans as each and every one of them seemed to jump for a piece at the same time. Now if Zinginz wasn’t careful despite the beasts being hand bound, their jaws were indeed powerful. And living on instinct, they would stop at nothing to get a hold of a tasty treat. All eyes were on the front, as that seemed to be where most of the activity.

Madison watched with half opened eyes as she found herself rather comfortable in her position. Perhaps Max was right, she was feeling a little weak in the legs. Slowly, everything began to blur around her as she continued to hold onto the file folder. The only thing she was hearing was the heavy beat of adrenaline coming from Max’s chest, which was nothing more than soothing to the stressed mind. That and the smell of soap, that seemed to radiate from Max despite how filthy he may have been. And then suddenly everything became very cold as her eyes grew heavier....

The rabbit was in a different room now, it was filled with people and the rabbit was sitting within a wooden chair within a small enclosed office. The wall to the right wasn’t even actually a wall at all, but rather a large window. On the other side of the office, sat a man within a large office spinny chair, or at least she thought it was a man as she could not see his face. He seemed to be talking to her as she watched his arms move back and forth.

Her focus slowly shifted downwards as she could feel that whatever she was gripping onto was no longer the thin files. But instead it was something soft, wet, and yet so cuddling. A small faint smile filled her face as she bore witnessed to what appeared to be a white stuffed rabbit. However, this rabbit wasn’t white anymore. Large red splashes of color covered it’s faux fur. But merely seeing this almost caused nothing but joy.

Without warning the man reached across the desk and quickly grabbed a hold of the doll from her hands and began to try and pull at it.

“Let go of Dina!” Madison practically screamed out the words which caused her to open her eyes with a gasp. Instead of being met with the pleasantries of the man she had been dealing with, instead she was met with something else. From the right, Madison a tight grasp from one of the zombies on her boot. Swinging her feet loosely as she attempted to break free as she only tried her best to not and hit Max in the meantime. Because she was sure asides from fighting zombies, Max wouldn’t enjoy getting a boot to his side very much considering he was the one who was trying to fight them off and move her through the crowd.

Before Max could even react to what she was talking about, one of the purple soldier’s quickly swung it’s mighty two dimensional blade down and sliced the zombie’s arm in half only leaving a hand which was continuing its tight grip on her limb. It seemed that the troops she had formed was proving to be a fair bit more useful than she intended as she still in the safety of Max’s arm or at least as safe one could be within a horde of the children of zombie creatures.

Ziginz seemed a little surprised by Max's reaction but he didn't have much time to argue as the sound of more undead could be heard.

"Ziginz, how would feel about taking point, while the knights here and I take the rear?"

"FIne by me max, I'd rather be knee deep in the fight anyway."

Ziginz looked around noticing the approaching undead. He looked back to see Max pick up Madison and her seem releaved. Ziginz smiled at this but his smile soon broke as a number of Zombies jumped at him. They wore what looke dlike prison uniforms and most were handcuffed, but their teeth were still as sharp as ever. As the swarmed him Ziginz released his KI and useing Heat Up caught a flame, becomeing a torrent of burning KI fire that envelouped the zombie around him. Even so more approached him in a charge, but this only fueled Ziginz's joy. He could feel it, the warrior that slept inside of him. Suddenly a pair of KI wings spread from his back and at first glance looked angelic. Two Ki blade also appeared in his hands and a low laugh started coming from him. Suddenly the wings and blades burst into flames as Ziginz looked up with a huge grin on his face and eyes that glowed yellow.

"You two better stay close or you might get killed!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!"

Ziginz charged forward, his wings looking more like giant claws and his blades looking rather ferocious as he slashed and bashed zombies, all of which caught a flame with even a touch of him. The kind hearted, simple man from before now seemed more like a berserk warrior. This was Ziginz's warrior spirit, or at least a part of it. He tried to keep it under control, but in a situation like this, he couldn't help but go a little nuts. Ziginz was now a living, flaming, zombie chop-o-matic, and he was loving every second of it.

Maximos first reaction was to blink, and then as it seemed to be a suitable course of action he blinked again. And one more time for good measure. Ziginz had been so laid back, so calm, so relaxed. And then it was quite literally as if someone had let a gnashing beast out of a cage. His entire demeanor was different, his motions carried a whole other drive to them. Almost a hunger it seemed, a bloodlust. Maximos was still for a moment, taking in the change and then just as he stepped forward. Fire! Not just a blast or blade of it, but veritable wings of flame combined with slashing death. Red, and burnt viscera splattered in all directions as it confronted the lethal fire storm that was Ziginz. Needless to say the Shadow had no worries concerning the front line of their advance.

The Shadow kept a brisk pace behind Zigz, making sure not to fall too far behind but at the same time not to get too close either. It wasnt himself he was worried for, so much as Madison. She seemed to have fallen asleep. That was good, she needed her rest, and Maximos could hold this position for days. It was a part of every heroes training to hold a huge bag across their arms in this position for incredible lengths of time so as to make them able to scoop up and carry a damsel in distress any length and to safety. Well, that was a lie, but Maximos felt it should be, and he wasnt going to let Madison fall regardless.

Unfortunately, it was never that easy. While Ziginz had a great hold on the front, the hallway they traveled had doors and passageway. Zombies, being creatures of instinct at the very least knew the difference between a hard to catch prey like Ziginz, and something moving slower and hindered like Madison and Maximos. A small pocket of undead focused on the weaker pack and haltered their advance. Maximos' eyes and mind directed the black blade to slash and cut, but the space between him and Ziginz was growing. Zombies were diced and slashed before they could step within a perimeter of Maximos and those that crossed into that space were met with swift kicks. Still, it was a slower process then their fiery angel of death up ahead.

Forgoing immediate safety for long term safety, Maximos bolted forward, pulling Madison in close as he shoulder charged his way through the horde. Hungry teeth found his flesh and such, limbs batted and swung although bound, and just a step behind his sword attempted to severe heads, and arms, and clear the chaff. He kicked a zombie aside, commanded a slash through another, and as a group of rots fanned across his path he whispered a small apology to Madison...

...and then swung her. It looked like something of a swing dancing move, with the bunny's torso and hips still in his arms while her armored and spiked boots knocked teeth and worse out of three zombie's faces in one pass. Somehow, between the size of her feet, the strength of her legs, and how asleep she appeared Maximos severally doubted she even felt that but then... “Let go of Dina!”

The sudden outcry made Maximos stop dead in his tracks. No. That wasnt her name at all. A recently kicked and disoriented zombie reached out and grabbed Madison's offending boot. Madison's feet kicked and before Maximos could even take proper stock of the situation and react there was a flash of purple and the zombies arm was cut loose. Maximos immediately raced past the stunned zombie, hopefully with purple knights in toe. Thankfully, while on fire Ziginz was easy to spot and Maximos fell back into pace with him, he would have said something to the man but reasoned that letting him enjoy the moment was best, instead he whispered to Madison. "Excellently played, who taught you to summon those?"

Fwoom.

Madison's concentration quickly moved from the now dainty hand that was resting tightly around her wrist to the flames that had burst from inside the crowded swarm. The tame creature that had joined their party seemed to finally release whatever that he was holding back. He may have had wings, but his movements were not as graceful and merciful that an angel may have had. This man had become an angel of chaos. And with the slight disorientation of being half asleep and feeling like she had been tossed around like a rag doll the only thing that she was able to see was the glow as a swarm continued to surround it.

Tightly, the rabbit's hand grasped around the fabric of Max's shirt as confusion fell over her. She had entirely no idea what was going on around her. One moment she was sitting within an office setting and now...

"Excellently played, who taught you to summon those?"

That was a very good question.

Tilting her head upwards and causing her hair to fall down the sides of her face Madison peered at him with the innocent eyes that she once had before quite sometime ago. With the speed that they were moving at, the strands slowly waved over her fair skin. She almost seemed fragile in the position she was in despite the fact that she was nothing of the sort.

"Well, someone told me in my hea-"

Shatter.

Madison stopped in the middle her sentence and shot her look back as the sound of shattering glass filled the air. As her faced the back quickly her face noticed something practically horrific. Without any warning it seemed that her bright purple warriors had become victim to the hungry hordes around them. Instantly they quickly crippled into dust as many creatures who attempted to follow them fell to the ground as they soon met with the fact that they were not the tasty treats that they had suspected. Now, Max's rear protection was gone.

Whether Max viewed that as important or not was another question as in the lead facing ground there seemed to be a fork in the hall. Both seemed just to be exactly the same in every way shape and form. However, there was only one difference. One was well lit while the other was shrouded in darkness. Judging by the amount of space there was really no telling if the group was going to be separated or not. Either way the crowd of hording maggot infested corpses seemed to be following the burning light like moths to a light post.

Perhaps there was a plan to his madness.
