"That is up to you," Lin replied.

After all, the eevee was his pet, so Andarien really had free reign on naming it.

"But first things first, you need to get dressed," she looked at him pointedly.

Andarien grinned sheepishly. "'Kay."

He nuzzled the Eevee, then set it on the bed and hopped off to find a clean set of clothes. He grinned up at his parents as he grabbed his nicest clothes, the ones that were usually reserved for banquets at palaces and such. "This is good, right? Because it's a party for me?"

Earendil had a feeling that Andarien was going to be high on adrenaline all day long.

"If you want to wear them, that's perfectly fine," Lin didn't know if Andarien preferred his good clothes or not.

She knew very well they could be just as comfortable if not more comfortable than his regular clothes.

"We're not formal here."

It wasn't like it was a party for her mother or her sister, propriety would have dictated something more formal for them. Just because other people outside of the family would be expecting to be invited.

Andarien decided to wear them anyways, just because he associated them with celebrations.

Once he was changed, he threw his pajamas onto the bed and scooped up the Eevee.

"I'm ready to go see Shiro!" he said cheerfully.

The Eevee waved its tail back and forth like a cat and Earendil was prepared to swear that it was grinning at him and Lin.

"I said we are going to have to ask Shiro, I didn't say we were going to see him right this minute."

There was breakfast to think about after all, and she was sure the party wouldn't be until the afternoon so it would probably be kept light.

"Besides, aren't you forgetting someone?" she asked him.

A look of astonishment crossed Andarien's face and he gasped slowly.

"Mi!" he exclaimed. "I gotta show it to Mi!"

"And then breakfast," Earendil said firmly, stepping aside to clear the doorway.

Andarien pouted. "I'm not hungry, can we see Shiro first?"

"Andarien...." Lin gave her son a look, "You're not thinking about everyone else. You're not hungry, but your father and I have not broken fast yet today and neither has your sister."

And she knew very well Miyuki was the kind of person who needed to eat something before zooming off for the day.

"Besides, Shiro will be at your party, you can ask him about the gender then."

Andarien pouted, but only for a moment. Very quickly his eyes lit up again.

"Okay," he agreed, "and then maybe Shiro can help me with a name! Because I don't want to give it a boy's name if it's a girl or a girl's name if it's a boy."

That wouldn't be good, he supposed. After all, he wouldn't be happy if he'd been stuck with a girl's name!

"Or you could pick a gender neutral name," Lin offered.

Not that she knew many of those kind of names, at least not off the top of her head.

"Come on, let's get your sister," Lin decided to at least usher Andarien out while he thought about it, otherwise they would be standing there for a while.

Andarien ran ahead and knocked on Miyuki's door, balancing the silver Eevee in his other arm.

"Mi!" he called through the wood. "Mi! Time to get up! Mi!"

"She hears you," Earendil told Andarien, putting one hand on the boy's head. "Calm down."

Andarien pouted up at him. "I'm exciiiiiiiiiited!"

"Oh dear...." Lin murmured.

This thought was only emphasized when Miyuki opened the door. It was clear she had been up for a while, for she was wearing one of her informal kimonos. However, she didn't seem at all impressed and one look at Andarien made her sigh.

It was clear it was going to be one of those days.

"Good morning," she greeted them all.

"Morning, Mi!" Andarien said brightly. He held up his silver Eevee. "Look! It hatched!"

The Eevee squee'd and tilted its head at Miyuki, its tail waving back and forth. Andarien giggled at it. "Isn't it cute?"

At the sight of such a cute creature, Miyuki really couldn't be still grumpy. Next to pretty and shiny things, she quite liked cute things.

She smiled, "It is very cute, and it has a pretty silver pelt."

Which was a bit unusual, but she figured eevees were like cats or something.

"Can we have breakfast now?" she asked her parents knowing it might not be ready yet.

"I think it should be ready," Lin murmured.

"Breakfast!" Andarien sang, skipping down the hall with his newly hatched Eevee. "I wonder what you eat ..."

Earendil glanced at Lin. "Should we grab some of the pokemon food from the bag?" he asked her. "Before Andarien tries to feed it our food?"

"Yes," Lin replied quietly, "I'll go get it. Until we talk to Shiro, I don't want Andarien to feed it normal food."

It was one thing when it was Senka, because Senka was a meat eater and therefore it was easy to figure out which foods she should be eating, but with that creature who knew.

So Lin ducked back into the room she and Earendil shared to grab the food for the newly hatched baby.
