Even with all of that stamina, it takes far greater energy to control far greater mass, as well as magic at the same time. Covering both weak points, as well as something huge like a stomach would be draining enough for it to be *slow* enough for you to hide under it while its standing. Its arms and legs wouldn't be able to reach you, in that case.
