gataka You'd need people to discuss them too. If you want people to do something you need to tell'em and convince'em of why...so why would they? My theory is essentially that there exist ideas within the community that aren't being shared, and that if it were easier to share them - that is, if we can convince people they're capable of sharing them - that they will be shared. The subset to whom I'm hoping to appeal are those for whom the "why" is already answered; people who have and would be posting suggestions, but simply aren't yet convinced they can.
"Why should I?" is a separate battle, and while I believe there is good reason for it, I've had some trouble communicating that thus far. I'll worry about that a bit more later, when I'm more confident in my ability to express it... sweatdrop

Lolok. So why do they believe they can't? I can see trouble for the more elaborate serious stuff, but simple ideas are simple to share. Or are you aiming to help those with more compl.exe proposals?

Here's a new game for you all dust bunnies: use the site's search to find THE particular word or expression that brings up the most results in Red Kutai's past replies.
My best yet is "beside" with 71 results :3
Also, Alchemy is finally looking interesting xD

The Red Kutai Game: "anyhow" 264 emotion_awesome Need to improve scoring system. edit: maybe use this ? So that uncommon words that are commonly used by the Frog get a better score...math math math edit2: that won't work for expressions. hmm.

It's rather easy if you use adverbs, I think; I throw those around like they're going out of style. redface
I was able to hit 1,066 on "actually", but that's a considerably more common word than the ones you were looking at. Also, apart from just curious mannerisms, context helps - there are unusually high numbers of results for things like "animate" (222), "implement" (229), "enemy" (372) and "ring" (979), simply because those are subjects I speak on often. I'm not sure that's quite how it was intended to be played, though... sweatdrop
EDIT: Also, to cheat the system, I've started at the end of your word count list and am moving backwards to see what the most infrequent terms I regularly use are. I could've sworn I'd mentioned a "conquistador" at some point; perhaps I should start designing a new ring set... wink

The first word I found that I'd actually used was "heeds" at rank 86744, but looking through it most of those are actually more common forms of the same verb (e.g. "heed", "heeding", etc.). I was able to find 70 results for the word "reportable" (rank 86475), and many of those I know to be of the proper form - unfortunately the search also returns results that include "report", "reported", and "reporting", so it's hard to get a good idea of how much the rare term actually shows up. Indicatively, searching "report" produces the exact same results, and that word is ranked 312th - without some other strictures, it could just be a matter of searching the most obscure form of common words, to rack up points... whee

What do you post all the time, if you're not using "actually", "anyhow", or "implement"? gonk

Remember this? Red Kutai gataka Keep things away longer. How's that for a purpose? Now would say there's synergy between Diag and Hack? It's a purpose; if the game facilitated it better, it might even be a useful one. razz
I suppose you can assert that there exists synergy between any two rings; every ring is helping you to achieve the goal of 'defeat enemies' in one way or another, just like any card in a CCG deck can theoretically help you to win. What I'm referring to, primarily, is more direct and obvious synergy - things that are designed especially to encourage players to use them in a particular way, or designed to encourage players to figure out how to use them - subtlety is something I don't 'do' well. whee
That said, I don't see anything in particular between Hack and Diagnose - do you?
I recall answering but I don't remember exactly what. Still have that answer?

gataka Yes, that's another story. It's useful in some places x D I see Rage. And we're back to the start: as I suspected, it's really a matter obviousness and degree. There is synergy, however it's generally indirect, often not obvious, and rarely can you focus your whole set on a particular idea. And I'm not talking about your vague anything contributes to victory :U I like the the idea behind the Pirate set. It centers around placing enemies where you want with Quicksand/Root: pack for Slash/AoE, at bay with/for Shark/Ranged, or keep em' close for Shark/Knockback-less beat down. A Whirlpool that packs mobs in an area would be a great addition to it, but I'm straying off topic. I guess my point was that there is. My question do you see it? Our conclusion we could use more. We're in a Yu Gi Oh situation: in the beginning it was all about plain monsters and straight up conflict. Now it's all about how your cards connect and how broken a combo you can make :V Allowing such is something. Making it work another. Another story. Another day. Put stuff in the dumpster so I can get another fish o3o I never actually delete PMs, so my inbox stretches back to May of last year - if you can remember sending it, I probably still have it... sweatdrop

After this I decided to start deleting any messages from 'admin' and 'Thank you for reporting!' notices, so that I might hang onto messages a bit longer - but that only took me down to about 80% capacity. I don't use PMs exceptionally often, but apparently enough that it fills up in about a year and a half... razz
