Hmm... been playing Star Trek's Starfleet Battles too much lately. When you said "Destroyer Leader" I was thinking "DDW+ War Destroyer?".... sweatdrop
Though I always like the Lyrans better.
Huh, I always figured the GN would be using something like Arcanum's system...

Those ships and subs are definitely impressive.
Idea: For RP purposes, you should think about designating a specific ship (maybe the Edana?) as a sort of "city" location for Gaian Navy personnel to play in, if we ever get major activity going in the GNG again.

It had a balance between Technology and Magic. One of the first "Steampunk" games I played. (One of the first to be made as far as I can tell)
In it Magic and Nature were opposing forces. As a person adopts the ways of Magic or Technology they tended to have an 'aura' around them, so to speak.
As Magic is Supernatural, it rewrites Natural Laws. Thus strong magic can do things like disrupt chemical reactions, the flow of eletricity, the movement of gears, etc. (There was a time int he game where a powerful mage rode a train, which caused the boiler to blow up, for example)
By the other hand, if there are lots of "natural" things going on in an area, gears, electricity, chemistry, etc, it provides a 'buffer' which makes it harder for a Mage to rewrite Natural Laws in that area to make their magic work.
So hat basically magic or Tech could cancle each other out, it just depended on who had the stronger source.
There was a mroe in depth description int he manuals, that they wrapped up in the veneer of experiements from the 1800s, in that style. But basically that's how it worked.
It's probably not as 'technomagical' sound as what Mister Decker is doing, but I liked the idea behind it. You know, that it's not just "Magic is blacked out here" or "Tech malfunctions here".

Oh! Sounds like a nifty game. If I could rewrite all of Gaia Mainstream, I might even rewrite it with that concept as the core value. xd

Eh, it was a good system for a computer game, and I like the concept behind it, but it'd be hard to implement in a RP setting like this. *shrug* It's not 'intuitive'. You know, most magic users wouldn't accept "I'm standing next to a mecha so I can't hurt it with spells?"

I personaly prefer shadowrun for a mix of magic and tech.I belive it is lindy's post turn now.... actualy it was lindy's before highwind made that second post.
