Biting his bottom lip Alabaster groaned. “Well, you see, my house is around here. Passing through this park is a short-cut to my house, so, I took it in hopes of getting home quicker.” He lied hoping she wouldn’t call his bluff. After all, he couldn’t tell her the real reason he was there. “But, then I heard some movement I decided to go find out what it was. That was when I saw you.”
Looking into her eyes he gave a smirk clearing his throat. “Now, would you like me to escort you home milady? I am sure I can help you find it.” Pausing for a moment he closed his eyes and sighed. “That is if you want to stay here and relax? But, it gets a lot worse when it gets darker. Past midnight is the worst, but, that is all just hearsay.”
His eyes opened as he reached his arms upwards stretching the kinks out of his joints. Looking around he could have sworn he noticed movement somewhere off to his left but, he couldn’t be sure. After all, with it being night time and the fact that he was always on edge he could never be too sure if he was truly seeing something or, it if was just his imagination.

Lily watched as he bit his lip again, most commonly a sign of discomfort, or passion. But seeing that she had made no advances towards him, she knew the first would be more adequate with the situation. "I'm a big girl." she said quickly, looking back up to the night sky. She wasn't afraid of what gang activity could do, after all she had just faced Acid Rain, a man who threw lightening, and turned into a monster, plus a giant trash monster. She could take some gangster wanna-be.
Shaking her head she ran her fingers through her brown hair. "I can't go home." finally she admitted, not wanting to expose the whole truth to someone she just met, she decided best to just do a underline. "I am - was a student at the university, but I was expelled " she lied flawlessly. "and my father passed away some time ago, so you see.. At the moment, I have nothing better to do then to watch someone deal drugs on the side line." though she was joking, she just wanted to get her point across that nothing would surprise her, or scare her at this point and time. "Maybe you could show me the closest hotel, seeing that I have to find a new home anyways, I could just stay a night an- Sorry. I'm ranting.."
Lily gave a nervous laugh as she began to count the stars again, a small smile creasing her pink lips as she looked over to her dark haired companion once again. "You know... You don't look the type to live in this sort of neighbor-hood. Which way is your house again?" her voice peeking with curiosity.

The next morning at the Smiths residence Trinity was eating her breakfast while her mom joined her and told her that she wouldn't be going to school today and that she would be seeing a doctor about why she was so tired yesterday.
Trinity drops her spoon in her bowl of Raisin Crunch. She realized that although she had told her mother everything she knew that happened to her because of the meteor, she has yet to tell her what she found out yesterday. This didn't come to mind earlier because she was really tired and had other things weighing her mind. "Mom..." she started out slowly, she really didn't want to upset her especially since she would have to face this news alone with out dad, who was out of town currently. Should I wait to tell her after he comes back?...If she's taking me to a doctor... I'm not sure if the current one I usually go to would have any idea...
"Yes dear?" her mom responded after a moment.
"...there's something I have to tell you about yesterday..."
Her mother's eyes raised to hers letting Trinity know she was listening.
Trinity's fingers fidgeted wondering what is the best way to put this? How do I tell her that I can fall through shadows and manipulate them? She seem to take the other stuff okay but... this seems far more different than just appearances and being in good physical condition...I wish dad was back from his trip...she may be able to take the news easier... she sighs a moment then lets it out "Yesterday I found out that I can fall through shadows and manipulate them."
"I see, thanks for being honest with me. I do admit, your friend Gidget told me last night and showed me a video last night."
"She did what?! Gidget is NOT my friend, I barely know her. I just met her yesterday in that fight...she had no right to go blurting out things behind my back."
"I'm sorry that this upsets you dear, but she saw that I was worried about you. She did tell me of this facility that could help you learn how to control your powers, at least they could give you a proper checkup to see what is making you so tired when using them. Though she stresssed one thing..."
"And what's that?" Trinity asks.
"That you need to be willing to go. They would not take meta-humans, that's what she called people with strange abilities, they would not take meta-humans unless they are willing to go."
Trinity really didn't like the fact that Gidget told her before she did though she doesn't want to admit now but it may have helped her mom take the news better. "So this facility... okay... I'm willing to go only for a check up and to find out why I was so tired from using them yesterday and how do I prevent that... I need to meet with some one later... he's been helping me."
"A friend?"
"You might say that" Trinity said neutrally she didn't want to say anything further than that or it might upset her mother. She hopes she didn't say too much that it would break her promise to Lev.
"Alright I shall make arrangements" as Trinity finishes her breakfast she looks for contact information from Gidget. She wonders a moment out loud "Did she leave contact information?"

Gidget climbs out of the suit and stretches her arms and back as high as she can with a large yawn to accompany. She feels great, and honestly can't remember the last time she had slept so well. Which she finds extremely strange since she was sleeping standing up. Deciding not to look a gift horse in the mouth she shrugs and starts making her way back to Trinity's house.
As she strolls down the sidewalk, she starts to question why she is taking it upon herself to keep after this girl. Perhaps, more than any other reason, she doesn't want Trinity to make the same mistake she did only a few days ago. She had been so ready to accept any ideas and answers that Charles Ray had for her. He even spoke of ways to bring back the dead. In the end it was all a lie. Just like this Leviathan creep. He feigns kindness to reach his own ends.
She reaches the Smith residence and runs her hands over her head. She smiles a little, starting to feel little bit of stubble growing in. She actually feels a little guilty dropping in on them like this. She doesn't just want to check up on Trinity. She is starving, and had skipped supper the night before. She rings the bell and takes a step back from the door.

Shane wakes up to the sound of his PDA buzzing on the nightstand beside his bed. He fumbles after the snooze button only to find it not doing anything. He lifts his head up and puts his glasses on to see the screen. The glass bends and shapes then brings things into focus. It was a message from Valhalla's ME. Shane shoots out of bed and shoves his feet into his shoes. After wrestling with the material rubbing on his Achilles tendon, he runs over to Annie's room and presses the intercom buzzer. "Annie, Annie wake up."

Mrs. Smith looks toward the door as she hears it ring. "Oh, I wonder who that could be." She answers the door and sees Gidget, it looks as though she hadn't eaten in a while. Graciously she welcomes her guest in,"Why hello Gidget it's good to see you? Trinity and I were just having breakfast. Would you like to join us?"
Trinity was not liking this idea one bit. She really hoped Gidget did not say anything to her mom about Lev. That would only make things more complicated and cause her mom to worry more than she had to. It was at this point she finished her cereal and takes her pop tart up to her room to finish it up there. She narrows her eyes at Gidget as she heads up to her room. Which goes without saying that she didn't appreciate her telling her mom about yesterday, at least for now.

Gidget beams and hops inside, "Oh yes thank you. I haven't eaten a good meal since yesterday morning." As she makes her way into the kitchen she sees Trinity. Gidget smiles brightly and waves at her, "Good morning Trinity! Are you...feeling...better?" Her sentence trails and squelches when she catches the look in Trinity's eyes. Gidget smile sadly fades as her eyes water slightly.
She surmises that Trinity is angry with her for going to her mom the night prior before she had a chance to come forward herself. Gidget hangs her head and takes a seat at the table. Once Trinity is gone she looks up at Mrs. Smith and asks, "She's mad at me because I was here last night, isn't she?"

Ever since the indecent with Charles Ray, Annie had been a light sleeper, and immediately upon hearing Shane's voice, rolled, falling off the bed. "Ow..." she said, rubbing her head as she got off the floor. Adjusting her tank top she opened the door, still rubbing the top of her head where she hit it falling off the bed and barefoot.
"Ain't there a more elegant way to wake a girl up than using a buzzer?" Annie asked, still rubbing her head. She looked at him and said seriously, "I'll go get shoes on, and I'll be ready." Turning she hurried to the closet said her feet measurements, and grabbed the first shoes and socks it gave her. She end up sliding on a pair of Mary Jane heels and white socks. They weren't the most practical of shoe wear, but comfortable enough, and if need be she could run in them.
Turning around she said bowing, "Okay, I'm ready."

Shane waves for her to follow him. He walks at a hurried pace. They move through countless corridors, stairways, and finally the elevator to the morgue. The whole way Shane speaks in a hurried and anxious tone.
"Two things have just been brought to my attention this morning. We are now going to address the first. Before I get to that though, one of our contacts in the county hospital just came across Tansy strapped to a bed and sedated. He said that there is a young Asian gentleman with him. I'm guessing that's Ako, so she is in good hands for now. You can go pick her up in a bit."
"The second thing is that we've just gotten several bodies from the outskirts of town before the police got a chance to them. We couldn't get them all, we need a few to go out into the public news so that way whoever is responsible for this may be weeded out. Apparently they need me there to figure out what happened to these people post mortem. Something about a fluid residue. I hate to ask this of you, but my regular assistant is out on maternity leave. I need someone with a strong constitution to stay with the examiner and I to observe and take notes. Also there's something else. A number of the victims were apparently struck by lightning."
Shane places his hand on a sensor and the door before them opens into the morgue. The medical examiner turns out to be the head of the physicians course at the college. A name tag on his lapel reads "Acula." A common joke rings into Shane's mind as he shakes hands with the ME. "Dr. Acula this is my new assistant, Annabella Soulsmith."
The older gentleman extends his hand to Annie with a soft yet grim smile, "It is a pleasure young lady. May I call you Anne, or Annie?"

Following Shane to the morgue, the heels of her shoes clicked on the cold floor. She felt a cold chill as Shane described the situation with the several bodies. The idea of seeing the aftermath of death did not rest easy on her, but it was something she was willing to do. "I'm sure Tansy is the least of our worries if Ako is with her. He will take good care of her. And regarding the examination, of course, I will help how I can. I am your assistant now, am I not?" She smiled a bit at him, trying to be reassuring.
Annie smiled a grim smile in return at Dr. Acula, shaking his hand. "Annie or Anna will be fine," Annie said, "I go by either, just not Anne. It just never seemed to fit me all that well."
Annie turned to Shane and pulled out the business card that Daisy Sun had given her the night before and handed it to him, "Oh, I should give this to you. I ran into a reporter last night who seemed to have personal interest in the meteor shower that affected me and the others. She was initially with Leviathan Cortez. If you need to deal with the media I suggest to contact her, she seemed... not harmless... but honest. That is more than you can say about most people, unfortunately."

“First off, I never told you where my house was. But, if you are interested in finding out I can take you there. After all, why spend money on some hotel that will more than likely be infested with drug dealers, users and hookers. I mean, unless you want to score some drugs. But, you do not appear to be that sort of person.” Standing up he placed his hands upon her shoulders and looked into her eyes.
Winking he squeezed her shoulder and chuckled slightly. “Now, let us get out of this god forsaken park. I’ll bring you to my place, got to save money. After all, you’ve got no where else to go and don’t know when you’ll get more money. Better to save what you’ve got isn’t it?” As he spoke his eyes began to rapidly change between purple and red.
Finally settling on red Alabaster stifled a yawn. “It’s getting late, come on.” As he spoke he was already moving away from Lily. His footfall came softly as he stepped upon the soft sand. Every so often his eyes darted from side to side, he was sure he’d heard the crack of a twig but, he couldn’t alert the people watching him that he knew of their presence. What with Lily with him he’d have to be on guard. “Hurry up Lily, don’t want to be out here much longer...”

Rikki Tikki Travi Gidget beams and hops inside, "Oh yes thank you. I haven't eaten a good meal since yesterday morning." As she makes her way into the kitchen she sees Trinity. "I'm afraid so." answered Mrs. Smith "Well the good news is because you told me last night I was able to tell her about the meta-human facility. She's willing to go for a physical or check up on her powers. Thing is I don't think you left any contact info about it." She says as she serves Gidget the same breakfast she had served Trinity. Mrs. Smith starts talking softer "Thing is... I think she had previously arranged to meat with that man you mentioned last night... I'm sorry to ask this of you Gidget but you may need to keep an eye on her for me from a distance. Beware she can sometimes be stubborn and has to learn things on her own." Meanwhile with her door room closed and her mind somewhere else Trinity looks outside. How am I going to see him if my mom knows about him?... Odds are Gidget may have told her about him too.... better come up with a plan B if that is more likely the case...

Shane takes the card and contemplates for a moment. As of right now they didn't have anyone in the media who could act as a liaison. This woman may just be the thing that they need to make sure that PR stays positive. Well, as positive as it can get with a madman who can throw lightning from his fingertips.
He places the card into his pocket and nods to Annie, "Thank you Annie. This may come in handy very soon. Please Doctor, could you show us the bodies please?"
Dr. Acula opens the last door into the main lab. Separated evenly are three cadavers covered by tarps. The stench of burnt flesh and death permeates the air. Shane takes a deep breath and swallows hard. He had never smelled burnt flesh before, and it's getting harder for him to keep his non-existent breakfast in his stomach.
The doctor clears his throat and speaks very clearly, "What we have before us, Shane, are three bodies that were killed in different ways. They were all struck by lightning, but only one of them was killed in that way. This gentleman here had every organ in his chest crushed, and his spine broken by his sternum. This man was instantly killed by the lightning. The curious case is this woman here. It's almost as if she were in an electric chair. The skull is incinerated in a degree far worse than the rest of her body."
The doctor pulls the tarp off of the woman and Shane loses it. He runs to the nearest sink and empties his stomach violently. He spits into the sink then looks at Annie and the doctor apologetically. "Sorry, ugh, does any of this look like Leviathan's work Annie?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gidget beams an appreciative smile and takes a bite of the food placed before her. She swallows and answers, "I'm sorry, I completely forgot about giving you a card or something. I can show her where it is though. My brother actually works there. As far as looking after Trinity goes, I'll do my best. I wont let that big jerk get his sparky hands on her."
Gidget takes another bite of the food, but as she chews her mind begins to go into a haze. She swallows slowly and asks Mrs. Smith, "Is something here broken?"
Annie bit her lip as the doctor opened the door to the main lab. The smell of death rushed out of the room. The closest she could compare the smell was to whenever a raccoon had gotten fried on the electric wires near her house. But even then it was different. It was worse than that, worse than even the smell of her own skin burning from acid.
Digging her nails into her fist, she forced herself to go forward into the lab. Her face was white, and her brown eyes were wide, and she was fighting to keep herself from shaking as she reached the table. She placed her hands on the table, forcing herself to stay up, as she shook with anger, disgust, and fear all swirling around inside of her.
"I... I cannot say for sure," Annie said. "I..." Her blood was running cold as she stared at the bodies. There was an overwhelming aura of evil lingering on the bodies. She knew it was her imagination but she could feel the screams of the dead laying in front of her.
She turned away from the table, and slid to the floor, burying her head into her hands, she felt dizzy from the heaviness of the air around the bodies. She thought she could deal with dead bodies, but this was different, it wasn't the bodies, it was what those two men and that woman had gone through and who-no what- they encountered before they died.
"It isn't the bodies," Annie said tensely. "Can you imagine what pure evil feels like? Those bodies are carrying that feeling. Whoever or whatever killed them..." She shook her head. "I don't have the words for it."
She clenched her fists, "All I know, is we're going to have to take this b*****d down... by any means necessary."
