Nathan clapped a hand over Hayate's mouth, then threw him out of the flat. He glared at the door, silently daring Hayate to open it.

Hayate scratched at the door like a scared puppy. After a bit he gave up and left.

Nathan flicked the lock, then leant against it. "I take it you're going to interpret that as my finding any excuse to touch him, Mao-chan?" he murmured, folding his arms and shivering due to the fact that he suddenly felt tired.

"You said it not me," Mao called back. "You were a bit cruel though. You could've just left him there. He'd pass out eventually."

Nathan snorted. "Yeah. Then he'd wake up and try to crawl into bed with you. Suuure I could leave him there with you..." he drawled, straightening. "I guess I'll leave then, if you don't want me here..."

Nathan growled and before he knew it he'd lightly slapped Mao's face. "Your ears are useless, you know that?"

Nathan shook his head and took hold of Mao's ears, rubbing them with his fingers. "No, not the whole of you. JUST your ears. If you knew how to listen, to hear sarcasm and when I'm being honest, then that'd save a whole lot of hassle for us both!"
His hands cupped Mao's face and he pressed his lips to the Demon's. "Now, are you willing to make this work with me, or are you going to let unfounded jealous s**t ruin us?"

Nathan blinked at Mao and then shook his head again as he allowed himself to sink so he was sat on the floor. "I don't need to relax: just for you to make sense... and possibly a vacation from dealing with you..." he muttered.
