@ momo: the explosion creates light and fire, light bulbs aren't nesecary after that
@naia: you can use the blast to propell the boat to safety
@vincent: explosions create energy, you can use that to recharge the battery.

There's no proper amount to solve that problem, there's no safe place anywhere near and if you made the ship explode too far, the impact would kill the passengers.

@naia: weather or not the passengers survive is irrelevent, the ship won't sink.
@val: i was refering to the fire that results from the explosion, not the explosion itself.
@vincent:.....you would need to position very small explosives around the paper, then detonate them in an order that would make a paper crane
