New RP.

She had tried to take a nap, but somehow she succeeded in simply laying there and staring at the wall. Sighing, she ran both hands over her face, rubbing her forehead slightly before pulling them back through her hair, which was still damp from the shower she took earlier. Damn she had been dirty and sore after that 'hike.'

Groping her right hand over to the nightstand, Antony felt for her glasses, too lazy for contacts today. Only after they were safely resting on the bridge of her nose did she swing her legs over the side of the bed and sluggishly sit up.

Maybe some fresh air would do her good...

It didn't take her long to get ready, and soon enough she was on her way out of her duplex, hastily stuffing a half smoked pack of cigarettes in her back pocket of the jeans she was wearing. The door was kicked shut and then Antony was on her way to the beach as quickly as she 'casually' could. She didn't really want to draw any unnecessary attention from anyone right now.

All she wanted was to be home, but since that wasn't an option, being alone would suffice for now.

Flip flop adorned feet soon met sand, and per usual, she bent over and scooped them off her feet, treading towards the surf barefoot. Instead of a white wife beater, she was wearing a simple black spaghetti strapped top. The environment be damned, Antony found herself a nice place to sit on the dunes, gaze fixed on the breaking waves.

Vasile was rummaging about of the beach, looking for the perfect seashell to finish off the peice of "art" he was trying to scrape together for Cass's Christmas present. His back pants were starting to get worn around the bottoms, and his blue stained silk shirt - which had once been the prize of his collection - was now frayed at the ends and hung open over his form, as wearing it buttoned up irritated the fur on his stomach. The pants were worse, but he wasn't quite at the point where he was willing to run about in the nude.

His hair had long come out the ponytail. He was also quickly running out of a product and the high-humidity of the beach made ponytails just look stringy and frizzy, so most of the time he just wore it down. He got a better response from the ladies that way anyway.

He inspected the lionspaw-shaped shell he found and, finding it not acceptable, he tossed it over his shoulder. As he looked up he saw a figure he didn't recognize. His tail twitched behind him and he headed over, curious to see what was up.

Antony didn't see the figure approaching until it was too late to up and leave without doing it very quickly, and she doubted that her muscles were up for that any time soon. Pretending that she didn't see him, she continued to look foreword, but watched the approaching figure like a hawk out of the corner of her eyes.

Granted, she couldn't see much detail other than this person, obviously male, had a stomach worth appreciating beyond just gawking, and that they had long hair. The tail wasn't noticed and the stomach fur was mistaken as a happy trail.

Vasile couldn't help but feel a tinge of delight as he realized the figure was female, but some of his initial appreciation faltered a bit as he got closer. She wasn't the typical fair he was used to dealing with - her face was peirced and she more tattoos than anyone he could remember meeting.

But somewhere back there his brain reminded him that Cass was a scaled science-fiction geek and he let the small sneer on his face fade into a smile. That's right, he thought to himself as he looked down at his large canine nails on his bare feet, I'm in no position to judge.

"Hello?" he ventured, coming closer. He blinked as his canine nose picked up the scent of cigarette smoke and he forced back the frown tugging at his lips.

His voice caused her to look up, feet burying themselves into the sand absently while she otherwise looked startled, "Hey there..." She trailed off when she finally began to notice that he was, in fact, one of the ones like that lizard girl. Tensing, Antony felt the back of her neck heat with anger, but when she shifted her gaze towards the crashing waves for a while it went away.

And then she felt a pang of guilt, and even self-loathing when she realized that she was in danger of becoming a hypocrite and she sighed.

"Sorry, I..." Her voice faded, unable to find the appropriate words, shoulders sagging in 'defeat,' "It's been a rough couple of days." The condition of her right wrist, currently unbandaged, could definitely attest to that.

Turning her attention back to him slowly, she didn't even bothering trying to smile, it would appear fake anyways. "Antony," she introduced, voice somewhat solemn as she offered her right hand to him.

Vasile gave his best smile, a pang of dissapointment that she didn't recognize him. Of course, he tried to convince himself it was because she didn't look like the crowd that would watch AccessHollywoodor read People, and not because he looked so much different than he used to. "Vasile DiRossi," he said, shaking her hand.

He tried not to stare at the inkwork over her body, but it was kind of hard not to. "I'm sorry, but I think I can sympathize. This place.. well, at least I'm not the one having to break the news to you." He frowned as he looked at her wrist. "But uh..what happened there?"

She shook his hand firmly, giving him a quizzical look as he introduced himself, head tilting to the side as she squinted at him. Soon enough, a wide, amused grin spread across her features. Oh the irony was too much.

"You're that kid from Final Destination aren't you?" Antony refrained from adding 'the shitty one right?' to the end of that statement, instead chuckling to herself, "I've had girls come in and ask me to tattoo your name on their a**. Obsessed."

The last word was said in accompaniment with a shake of her head. Those girls never tipped well either.

Demeanor going sour at the mention of her arm, Antony grunted a reply, "Fight with a midget." After a long pause she continued, "She had claws." This was added as if to make it clear that the fight was not fair.

"Yeah! That's me..." he trailed off as she added the endoument, but before he had a chance to get very offended she mentioned the tatoo thing, and his face softened. "Hey really?" Yes, he seemed to take that as a compliment, "Sounds sexy.."

His mind temporarily started to imagine one of his little fangirls with "I heart Vasile" over the left cheek before he realized he was being rude. Clearing his throat he turned his attention back to Antony. "Uh, a midget with claws? This place gets weirder and weirder. I'm, uh, sorry 'bout that though." Vasile hasn't seen Jol since before her change, and it didn't really occur to him that she would have claws now.

Seeing his look, the tattooed woman decided to mess with him a bit, "Yeah... If you have a fetish for big girls." She made a very wide motion with her arms as her face turned into a lopsided half-grin. "But hey, whatever gets you off."

Antony shrugged, "Eh, no worries."

Moving her hand to trail through her hair and messing it up a bit more, she absently chewed on her lower lip before patting the sand next to her, "How long have you been here?" Obviously, she didn't know about his 'death.'

Vasile's expression paled and grew sour at the "big girl" comment, but he didn't say anything. Instead he just sat down by her and tried to shake it off.

"A few months now," he said, suddenly realizing just how long it had been. "Wow, its hard to believe its been that long," he admitted. "I guess I've just been trying to take it day by day."

Note to self; ask Moreau for a catelouge. You're running out of clothes, fast, and you still can't seem to get a handle on doing your own laundry.

The woman's smile widened at his reaction. Serves him right, young kid like him thinking he's god's gift to women. That, she thought to herself, can only be proven.

"s**t," Antony cursed. Going home was beginning to look less and less likely. Suddenly she felt rather sick, like she needed to throw up. Her face went a sickly pale, but through sheer will alone Antony shook off the feeling and took a deep breath.

"It's true then isn't it," she muttered, speaking mostly to herself, "I'll never see home again..." A pained look, which Antony tried her best to cover up, crept onto her features, but she was too exhausted to be angry. She couldn't do it anymore. At least not anymore today.

Vasile's felt the muscles on the side of his face relax, as his his ears could droop had they been a bit longer. "Yeah, its true..." he said as he fingered his tail. "I mean, from what I've heard everyone thinks I'm dead, ya know? Like they actually faked my death." He shook his head. "Its crazy, and the guy that runs the joint is a ******** b*****d."

He looked over, realizing he probably wasn't being too helpful. "But it could always be worse, you know. I mean, we get fed and clothes and basically just get to lay around and be beach bums...and some people are trying to make the most of it. Most people here, ya know, pretty nice."

Antony grimaced, and soon debated whether or not a cigarette would make her feel better right now. Probably not. Besides, she was currently sitting on them, and she had no motivation to move just so she could smoke.

A disgusted expression came over her face, lips curling unattractively in a sneer, "And what of those back home? Family and friends... How can you just brush that aside? They'll never get closure."

She paused, taking a few calming breaths before continuing on, trying her damnedest not to get as worked up about this as she had earlier, "I thought this would be a ******** vacation. A vacation with no responsibilities, loads of drinking, and lots of 'no strings attached' sex... And now this..." She didn't notice that she had begun to ramble, and simply kept talking, "He's going to blame himself. My father... He'll wake up every morning and think that he's the reason I'm missing or dead..."

Sighing deeply, Antony cast her eyes downward, feeling there was more to say, but she couldn't find the words.

Vasile nodded a long with her. "I hate to lose cliches and all, but you never know what you have until its gone." He picked a few things in the sand. "I never really.. cared much for my little brother... but now that I'm here I can't stop worrying about him. And my parents... they all think I'm dead now."

He glaced over at her with a sad expression. "Of course, I guess its better that way. You know.. that they think I'm dead instead of not knowing what's happened to me. If I had any say, I'd rather them think I was dead than just missing, I guess..."

"Some vacation, huh?" Vasile loved the irony that ths island itself was one of the most beautiful places he's ever seen in his life. "What's sick... is that there are no responsibilties, there's an open bar on the beach thats recently been restocked..." he trailed off, cleared his throat a bit, "dunno about the 'no strings attatched sex' part, but I do know there's been some romancing going on..." Vasile bitterfly remembered just how long it had been since he had sex. Longest he'd ever gone since he lost his virginity he'd wager..."Just now you're here, and you're stuck. And a gunea pig.

"I knew what I had. He raised me himself, a widower. Tought me all I know..." Blinking at her last comment, she hurried to correct it, "Well, not everything, but the point is we're damn close and I obviously don't care if people think I'm a freak... I'd rather him know the truth."

Antony's lips lifted into a sort of smug grin (mood swings much?) at his response to the sex comment, laughing a bit impishly, "s**t, I got laid my first night here, all night long. You must be doing something wrong kid." She was guessing that he was younger than her. He sure looked it.

So what if she was bragging... He was a movie star and he couldn't even get laid.
