The dog gave out a happy bark as its tail finally began to wag. Apparently the females were much nicer in this group and as Hitsu knelt down he turned toward her giving another happy yip before moving away from Mitsu to show Hitsu some affection.
Mitsu gave a bit of a giggle as the dog moved away, wiping her face again to rid it of the saliva from the dog's kisses. "What should we name him?" Mitsu asked Hitsu as though she was fully intent on keeping him.
"Wo, wait, hold up," Neko started looking down at Mitsu with a stern gaze. He was already mad that she was acting defiantly but this was going to far. "You're not going to name it anything because its not staying with us."
"Why not?"
"Because..." Neko was about to state that it was a dog but then the fact of that comment caught up with him. Mitsu was a dog, or at least part of the canine race so it made little sense to bring that up. "Just Because." He continued. "We do not need another mouth to feed."
Mitsu looked up at Neko for the longest time with wide confused eyes. Just because really wasn't a good answer for her and somehow she had a feeling that Neko and Yuki were going to be out numbered in this decision. So with that thought in mind she turned back to Hitsu. "What about Tobi? Do you think that would be a good name?"
As Mitsu continued on about names Neko gave a growl burying his face in his hands being sure to rub his temples to suppress his impending headache. God this was infuriating....and he was going to have to live with this? Something was going to have to give but Neko was afraid that it was more than likely going to come from his end. "Listen, we can't keep the dog." He started off more calmly this time, trying to sound empathetic toward the dog but at the same time trying to explain to Mitsu and the others for that matter.

Riyo had to hold back a laugh as Hitsu kicked her brother in the shin, quickly biting her lip so that it didn't escape.
Quietly, she listened to the explanation while kneeling down to pet the dog along with Hitsu. Not really much of a reason. They were just making up excuses. "Well, if that's the case, how about one of you go. And the creature can stay." She dropped the subject with that, and continued on with Mitsu.
"How about Stinky? Because... He kinda is." That was when she came to a very slow realization. She took a short pause from petting the dog and sniffed her arm... Then cringed. "I take it back. There is no room for me to talk." Ohhhh, she felt filthy. After treading through the rain, rolling around in the mud, and sleeping with corpses, seemed like there was good reason to.

Blade grinned faintly as Hitsu kicked Yuki, but just watched as the others speculated about the dog. If it did come from the nearest village, it had come quite a ways.
He watched the hound for a bit, not really having anything in mind to contribute to its name. But for now, he didn't really see anything wrong with keeping it around. As far as he could tell, it was fairly friendly.
"Well... I don't see what's wrong with keeping it. With training, it could even help find food. Dogs are used as hunting companions sometimes after all," he said with a slight nod, "Not to mention it could be an extra pair of eyes, ears, whatever at night when we need to rest."
Moving over towards teh dog, he knelt down and offered a small bit of the dried meat he had to the canine.

poke didn't wanna be left out of giving the dog some affection either. Kneeling down she began to bet toe doggy, and tried not to snigger at yuki being kicked by hitsu. It really did seem like a friendly dog, and as long as it didn't want to bite her she was happy with it.
"we could let it travel with us, at least for a while untill we find his owner" poke said to neko. "Dogs don't eat that much food, and if we find a river nearby I can always catch him some fish" She wasn't about to fight in a losing battle, which would surely happen if she sided with yuki and neko on this. Besides, it did seem kind of cute, and lost, and fluffy...
As for names, she tried to think of a few herself. "We could always try spike? or rex, or..."

Hitsu laughed lightly at the dog, it seemed happy with the attention. When it had come over to her, she scratched him behind the ears and fluffed the fur around his head and neck playfully. If not for the tail, some might want to deny the fact that she was indeed of the feline bloodline. "He's just so cute!"
Yuki groaned, and rolled his eyes. This was heading in a bad direction, and he just knew it. He clearly agreed when Neko mentioned that it wasn't going with them, "Don't name it, you'll just get attached to it."
He went completely ignored, as did Neko. Hitsu had nodded, smiling to Mitsu. "Yes, I think Tobi is an adorable name."
Yuki leaned in toward Neko, muttering to him. "You know, with all of the bones in this place, I'm sure we could distract the mutt well enough to get it away from them." Sarcasm? Probably. He knew well enough that once Hitsu had her mind set on something, there wasn't a very good chance she'd let up.
Riyo suggested a less friendly name, but Hitsu still chuckled. "I think we all need a bath at this point... I wonder of Tobi knows how to swim?" Apparently, she had already settled on the name that Mitsu had chosen out. "We didn't buy any soaps, though..." She added, absently wondering if a simple dip in water would do much to help their situation.
Even Blade and Poke seemed keen on keeping the yapping furball around. Yuki glared at Blade as he offered the dog a bite of meat, "Don't feed it, we'll never be able to get rid of it if you give it food." Oh, how he had heard the 'until we find its owner' time and again. Well enough to know that more often than not, it ended with no owner turning up at all. "I've got an idea." Yuki said, dripping sarcasm as he forced himself to sound cheerful. "How about we throw a piece of meat as far off as we can, and leave before he gets back?"

"Yes, by all means distract it," Neko agreed. "But I'm telling you now, that dog will not be going with us." Neko had sounded firm in his standing that the dog couldn't stay with them. "I don't care how much you whine, plead, or beg. It's NOT happening." As if to prove a point Neko crossed his arms in a stern manner, staring down at the girls. "It's made it well enough on its own so far and it can continue to do so.
And I believe the saying is 'a man's best friend'," Neko turned his attention to Blade this time. "Man....as in human. And if you've failed to notice none of us are exactly human." Neko then looked to Yuki for a moment and scrunched up his nose in thought. "Well, most of us anyway."
As the boys continued to talk about leaving the dog Mitsu implemented lesson two that she had learned from Hitsu a couple of days ago. Turning her head up toward the boys she put on her steepest frown her eyebrows contorted in anger. Her expression might have been a little extreme but it got the point across nicely as she gave them 'the stare.' "Tobi. Stays." She had sounded out each word to make sure they heard her clearly.
Tobi, or as he was now being called, gave another happy yip from all the attention. He moved closer into Hitsu's petting hand and barked playfully as she ruffled his fur. It was then that a scent caught his nose and the only thing he could see was meat dangling in front of his face. Being reminded of his hunger he nearly lunged at the meat maybe a little over zealously and snatched it away from Blade not at all being mindful of his fingers. Taking a few steps back he chewed his meal a few times and swallowed sniffing the ground to be sure he hadn't missed a single crumb. When he found that he had missed none he looked back at Blade expectantly giving another more demanding bark.

"That is exactly the kind of attitude that disgusts me." Riyo stood up and glared at Neko after his 'man's best friend' comment. "Look at you, despising a creature because of something it can't help. He means you no harm, but that just doesn't seem to matter. Hating for no apparent reason is a human trait, so you might as well be one."
With that, she turned and looked at Inu and Hitsu, her tail sticking straight up in the air. "I know where a lake is nearby. I'm going to wash up, and the rest of you are welcome to join me." She gave one last burning glance to Neko before turning to her left and walking towards the forest.
Atticus watched her go, but made no attempt to follow. His eyes slowly moved to the dog. Oh, he knew that they weren't going to leave it. What was that old saying about a woman's scourn? It didn't matter, but they usually got what they wanted... Especially in numbers this high.

well, if neko was asking for a verbal fight, he was going the right way about it.
"no, we're not exactly "human" but I'm part human, thank you very much" Poke got up and was considering saying a few more choice words when riyo mentioned about hating being a human emotion. She blinked at these words, and looked the other way. Great, so if humans went around and hated things, did that make her more prone to hating things as well?
Wait, what was she doing anyway? none of them were even saying something remotely akin to what she was thinking. She took the next mention of the lake as her que to get the hell out of there. "yeah, I need a good bath, and by the looks of things that dog is starving" she quickly moved after riyo.

Yuki looked a bit put off by the look that Neko gave him, and apparently found it as a personal jab. "Thanks for the reminder." He said irritably.
Hitsu was startled slightly when the dog nearly snapped up Blade's hand along with the meat, but she wasn't really surprised. "You might want to be careful, Blade." She chuckled, "Aww, he must be so hungry." She looked up to Riyo as she mentioned the lake, and nodded before getting up to follow. "Come on with us, Mitsu. We can give Tobi a bath too, and maybe Poke can catch him something more to eat."

"True, but no one here is fully human," said Blade softly in response to Neko, "Also Riyo's not minding, and she's feline t-yow!"
While his attention was towards Neko, 'Tobi' had decided to take the little treat he had offered. And not in the nicest manner. Shaking his hand in the air, he frowned at the dog before standing up. He had taken out another small piece of meat but didn't offer it yet.
"No more food if you're going to try and take off my fingers too. And if you want to stick around, it'll be better if you're not trying to be the alpha here and stuff. So... Sit!"
He glanced at the others for a moment as they conversed about the whole thing about being human.

As Blade gave his command, Tobi stared at him awkwardly for a moment, his head slightly cocked to the side. Then, as if it finally dawned on him what this man wanted, Tobi backed up and sat on his haunches. He had no doubt been a pet before and knew his simple commands, but what had befallen his owners?
Looking up from Tobi as Hitsu called out to her Mitsu nodded and stood to her feet to follow. "Okay!" A good bath and a swim sounded nice. "Come on Tobi!"
Giving a bark of recognition the dog didn't wait for Blade to give him his treat, instead he jumped back to his feet and ran after Mitsu and the other girls as they left to take their bath. Circling around the girls happily Tobi followed them closely as they left the boys in the dust.
Apparently his choice of words had not been the right ones as Neko fell silent running a hand through his shaggy locks of hair. He had yet to fix his hair from whatever happened and every time he ran a hand through it the startled shock reminded him. "Well dammit." Was the only thing Neko could think to say as he watched the girls all leave.
For more than one reason Neko was disappointed with how this turned out. For one he was on around the same level as Yuki now in being liked. And two the dog was getting a chance to take a bath with the girls while he was stuck here.

Didn't take Riyo nearly as long to find the lake as she expected. It was a fairly large body of water, almost undisturbed by humanoid encounter, which made it all the more beautiful. In this spot, the sky could be seen, and the sun shone down onto the lake. "Here it is." She called to the following group of females... And one dog.
With that, she made no attempt to be discreet as she stripped down to her birthday suit and tossed all her clothes on a large rock nearby. And promptly after her clothes were in a secure dry place, she jumped in... Not bothering to emerge from the water until 25 seconds afterwards. "Oooh, that's nice." She purred out. Not too hot, not too cold. Just right.

Seeing Riyo jump in Mitsu giggled like a small child tossing off her outer layer of clothing before promptly jumping in. She had forgotten to take off her shoes but that didn't seem to matter as she surfaced and began to swim around. "Riyo is right, the water is nice." Mitsu agreed. "Come on in everyone!" Finally realizing she still had her shoes on she quickly took them off under water and tossed them toward the shore.
Tobi, upon reaching the shoreline, wasted little time in following Mitsu and Riyo into the water. With one great leap he made his way nearly to Mitsu and began to doggy paddle around until he was by Riyo.

Once poke was at the lake shore, her face brightened up considerbaly. It had been ages since she had a chance to take a bath, let alone go for a swim.
She was quick to strip off her own set of cloths, leaving on the bare essentials, and taking a huge leap into the water. Hot dam the water felt good! Once submerged she was quick to go deeper in search of the fish she promised tobi. It wasn't hard to spot a few hiding in the reeds on the bottom; her eyes allowed her to see underwater and the sun was shinging down through the water anyway. A few swift kicks and she had reached the bottom, hand outstretched and swiping at hery prey. It took a few goes, but eventually her hands closed around one the slimy prey.
She shot back up, and broke the surface in with a yell. "BOOYAH! I told you I'd catch one!" she held up the flapping animal with her hands, grinning from ear to ear.

Hitsu wasn't quite sure what she had expected, but once they had gotten to the large body of water she hesitated. Quietly she watched as everyone else jumped right in, over their heads no less, and decided to find a safe place to sit along the edge. "I... I think I'll just wait until we get to an Inn." She murmured, perhaps not even loud enough to be heard.

"The dragon said that the next town is east of here, and it sounds like it's going to take a few days to get there." Yuki stated to Neko and Blade, since apparently there really wasn't much use in talking about anything else at this point. "Hopefully they won't take long, this place isn't exactly where I thought I'd be spending so much of my morning." Maybe Atticus wasn't too far off with that comment he made last night, now that he thought about it. He sighed.
