I loved the "custom-only" movesets, and was really burned when I found out they were missing in SC4.

3 did a lot of things better than 4, and they really should have known that going into it.

- Better story mode, with a map screen and different options given to the player rather than just FIGHT 1, FIGHT 2, FIGHT 3 without even any narrative.
- CAMPAIGN MODE. Oh god I loved that mode, it was like the only reason I played the game.
- The generic weapon styles. Because not everyone with a huge sword wants to pick between Nightmare and Sigfried... there's also the fact that they allowed your weapon sets to be GENDER NEUTRAL, and not force you to be Sophita or Cassandra when making a sword/shield character.
- You could adjust the height of your character if I recall correctly. They took that out in 4.


I mean other people. Like Vintrict, who's been here every day. Not so much the people who haven't been around... but you've posted once per cycle more or less. Some of the people who showed up early haven't posted at all since then. Like Anna has posted once. Dirge hasn't posted in a while. Etc.

The most regular posters seem to be you, me, Ryugi, Tenkai, and Liliana.

Dirge done gone went and joined the military. Don't think you'll be getting any posts from him soon'ish.

I'm gonna hijack this statement and generalize it into something you could say about the game industry as a whole.


"It's our favorite character/class and it will be your favorite too."

...that's how I felt about Death Knights in WoW.

I play Soul Calibur as Seung-Mina as a main. And then Nightmare as a secondary. Probably Siegfried as a third.

Seung Mi-na was my go-to on the Dreamcast version of Soul Calibur. Even when they took the "less is more" approach to her clothing in later games.

Could never get used to the heavy-handed characters like Nightmare or... big... axe guy Astaroth. Always preferred characters who had a decent mid-range game, or that could do quick moves.
