Sevilin merely gave a nod to her thanks as she gave it to him. "A couple of hours at least." Watching her a moment before getting up and moving back to the desk where he had a little pile of papers and what not, taking a moment to stack them and what not. "I know it's a bit disorienting but sometimes its necessary."

Malik watched Arthur get what looked like his third wind, as he'd exhausted his first and second several hours ago...though his mind was still in a mild state of shock. Was she? Have to find out, get Zahara to check her. since she sure as hell wouldn't let any of his own clerics do it.

"Send out Erebor."

A slight grin as the Halfelf shook his head and left, before the gates opened to a very mean looking, bald with a bread tied in two strands dwarf wielding a double headed axe in one hand and a warhammer in the other.

"Lets see how he handles something meaner and smaller than him. and you, Lady D'vinn...we need to get you checked out with Zahara."

Oh look at that, he was actually making progress. Probably came from the feeling of being continually looked at as second best in all aspects when you wanted to shine the brightest in the eyes of those that scrutinized you. Though her own watching of the human raised elf was rather a blank expression. Though a blink. "You just have more and more interesting things. I do miss a lot what with avoiding the lower level and what not now don't I?" Indeed it seemed so...though she held in a groan of protest at his suggestion...or rather his veiled curiosity. "Oh do we have to now...I'm all comfortable and what not." And well even with Zahara she didn't enjoy the prodding.

"I didn't say right away. I figure we can at least wait until Arthur passes out or until Sevilin comes to collect him for magic lessons. then yes, we need to get you checked out."

A slight grin, giving her a little hug and eatting a few more grapes to see how Arthur handles the old dwarven gladiator.

She only nodded, watching him for a moment before kicking the covers back and quickly rearranging her skirt which like always managed to get bunched up in reverie. Turning onto her side, she braced her elbow on the bed and her hand against her cheek still coming out of the trance like state. "A couple of hours? Have you been watching me all that time or working?" Not that she really cared about his answer but polite conversation made for less awkward silences right? Well, no but it sounded good. She slowly began finger combing her hair, her shrewd eyes never leaving his profile.

"Oh good, because I'm not inclined to move at the moment." Well except to change position, shifting in his lap some so that she was sitting with her back against his chest, her head tucked into the crook of his neck and her legs lying along with and propped up with his. And of coruse still stealing his food from time to time. Though she was proud of Malik, he could be poking around with magics and what not but he wasn't. Good. But with a contented sigh relaxed back against him, her left hand resting on top of his, fingers idly playing with the ring on his finger as they watched Arthur.

"Little bit of both I suppose. Had to make sure you weren't going to have something horrible happen because of your black out. And that you weren't alone when you were to come out of it because of similar reasons. But when you were seemingly fine, I did my own little workings." Turning his attention from the little stack of papers he had now he turned his eyes back to her. "Are you up for lessons today?"

Used to be, 'it's time for lessons' but now he was always giving her the choice, since he knew that some days she just wasn't feeling up to it or simply didn't want to do it. After all, she had to be horribly careful now that she was pregnant for runes didn't care if you were or not.

That got a wrinkling of her forehead as she took a few moments to assess her current condition and make a final decision based on the prognosis. Currently her stomach felt pretty settled and the baby wasn't horribly active which was always nice when one was trying to concentrate on other things. She flexed her fingers to see thier realm of manipulation and was pleased to find that she was not sore anywhere that mattered. In fact she was actually more relaxed than she would have been now that she'd calmed down after her scare. One subject fluttered briefly through her mind and she hesitated for a moment then nodded. "Yes, I quite think I am." Thus she lifted off the bed and put her feet on the floor, then went about her normal preparations regardless of the fact he was in the room. Disappearing into the closest to preserve some semblance of modesty aside, every other personal act was done as though he wasn't even in the room, from cleaning her teeth to brushing her hair and pulling on her boots and such. Finally she stood before him, dressed in another Andallian outfit, this one a bit different green than her normal Underdark mossy and smiled. "Ready."

Well that was quite interesting. "Really? Well then might as well get things started. We'll simply stop whenever it is you feel like it. If you need a break then take one." Waiting for her to go about her normal day before he gave a raised eyebrow at her.

"You got yourself a whole new wardrobe when you were there didn't you?" Somewhat of a grin at her before shaking his head lightly and he picked up his pile off of his desk and then gave a gesture of her to follow. "I may have Arthur join us, if you don't mind. He has some meditation studies to do so he wouldn't be a bother...unless he fidgets or something." A little shrug as he pulled the door open, waiting for her to step through before following out behind her and pulling the door closed.

Biting her tongue on the comment she desperately wanted to make she merely nodded. A glance back at him before she tilted her head and posed herself in a much more seductive position, a come-hither look in her eyes and a sulty smile prevalent on her features. "Yes, I did. Dont' you like them? They show off certain things so nicely." Tracing her curves lightly with her hands before gliding through the open door and into the hallway. "That wouldn't bother me in the least. It would be rather nice to have a companion, you wouldnt' be able to focus on me all the time and I could get away with a lot more that way." Making her way downstairs was a largely painless process though much slower than normal as she didn't want to take any chances with the stone and tripping. Elven grace still applied but being pregnant forced her to take precautionary measures that normally were superfluous. Flopping in her usual seat she sighed softly and then glanced at Sevilin who had been right on her heels. "Sevilin...would you get me something to eat? I'm craving meat right now..."
PostPosted: Thu Aug 24, 2006 8:34 pm

A little raised eyebrow and a tilt of his head as he watched her go about motions that were ment to seduce and entice. Hm, what was that all about now? Usually she seemed a bit self concious about being pregnant. Perhaps she was just having a good day. But he followed her downstairs and to the dinning room as per usual, giving a light chuckle. "You'd be surprised how effectively I can divide my attention."

But a nod to her as he breifly stopped to put down his papers and then continued on into the kitchen at her request, ordering up some breakfast for them both that was to her liking and well his as well, before coming back to the dinning room and walking over to stand next to her. "Kitchen staff will bring food out when it was ready. I'm going to go fetch Arthur."

And of course a book was set down in front of her, though this one would be compltely new to her. About rune weaving. Hey if she had to read, he could at least make it interesting. "You entertain yourself till then." Thus walking from the room and of course finding Arthur wouldn't be hard, seeing as it was the buzz of the place in whispered conversation. So then down to the arena, where he merely leaned against the wall to watch what was going on for the moment.

A glance over at Sevilin, while Piper was using him as a makeshift chair, and a slight grin.

"Ready to collect him? He'll be ready to be relinquished in a few moments. then he's all yours until whatever lessons you have planned for him are done. and I noticed your taking it easy on Zahara's studies..that's due to her pregnancy, correct?"

This sucked, Arthur had finally gotten a good hit on the damn half elf and now he was being replaced by someone else. Thanks a lot Malik... he thought and sighed a little as he waited for his new opponent, and when that person came he was surprised to see what he was fighting up against. "A dwarf?" he muttered lightly and blinked a few times, god he hasn't seen one in a very long time, though he shouldn't take this little guy lightly; the weapons he had in his hands gave off that the little guy was way more experienced in fighting than he was. Man it's going to be hard to hit him... he thought and sighed as he got into his defense position to fight.

For just a small moment Arthur and Erebor just seem to stare at one another, no even moving an inch, it seemed either they were sizing each other up or they were waiting for the other one to start. But it didn't take too long for the fight to start as Erebor let out a loud yell and charged Arthur with his stubby little legs. Though it came as a shock to the human raised elf that even though he was small, and carrying two heavy weapons, that the dwarf was pretty quick on his feet and closed the gap between the two. God damn this little guy is fast! he thought as he raised his katana to block the descending war hammer; a loud clang could be heard throughout the arena when hammer meat blade, and Arthur strain to keep a hold from the hammer from completing it's journey. "Strong little bugger aren't you?" he whispered and grinned a little bit as the dwarf yelled again and brought his axe into play in a side swipe. Oh s**t! Quickly with what strength he had he pushed against the hammer with all his might so he could do a black flip to get out of the range of the axe, though it was able to graze his back a little bit.

Arthur grunted lightly as the wound opened, but held on as he completed his back flip and landed a safe distance away from the dwarf. Damn another flesh wound added to the count. With a light smirk he took charge this time, and when he got close he brought his katana down on top of the dwarf's head to be blocked by his axe. Arthur kept on putting on the pressure and smiled a little. "Are we going to keep on doing this dance?" he lightly mutter and the dwarf replied with a yell as he brought his war hammer up to knock out Arthur's legs. Just as I hoped. A grin as he released the pressure he had on the axe in order to jump into the air to clear the path of the war hammer; but he placed he legs down upon the hammer and pressed hard enough so he could push it right into the dirt. With enough strength he was able to do so and before Erebor could take a swing at him with his axe Arthur brought up one leg and kicked him right in the face which made the dwarf's head snapped backwards; with his leg still suspended Arthur brought it up a little higher and then forced it right down onto Erebor's head with a sharp crack following afterwards, but he put enough pressure to injure or even stun the guy but the last thing he wanted to do was break his neck and kill him. Quickly Arthur jumped back and placed more room between both him and the dwarf and got ready to strike again if the guy was still awake.

Sometimes boredom got the best of the Captain, and the desire to test his limits in an uncontrolled setting rose deep within him. The last time he felt this urge was just prior to Meilikki's capture by the now completely destroyed, soul-spirit-body and all Dimitri the demi-lich. During that tantrum, the drow squared himself against anything that moved and had some measure of power behind its fist, claw or weapon, coincidently, an orcish horde and their allies provided a great deal of that. The old saying, two birds with one stone came promptly to mind, or not so much with the Captian's blood lust.

Today, he felt that he would have to play a bigger role in that sedation of curiosity. Today, he would allow his wizards to summon playmates.

Armed with a common drow basterd sword, his normal armour and no other magical devices, the drow entred the cavern that would house his miniture tournament. He glanced about the complex, noting that it had one entrace, the one he made with his portable hole. Removing the device and replacing it on his belt, the drow walked to the centre of the room, sword drawn and resting across his shoulders. Recently, the Captain's left hand had been giving him troubles, which explain the absence of his normal duel wielding scimitars.

He did not have to wait long, before the sound of a long serpentine body scraping delicately accross the ground with a semi-circilar pattern alerted the drow to the oncoming foe. The echoes of the movement told the drow that his quary was about one ton in wieght, and had a heavy front. This implied that the snake was moving up right, which meant that the creature was a mixed bread. Knowing his wizards, the Captian assumed it was from hell.

The sound of the movement showed a circumventing rout around the drow. Any lowly drow soldier in this setting would have spoted that noise, and figured out the tactic that the foe wished to use. This one was going to circle around the drow until she was behind him, and then strike out at his unweary rear. The captain decided to faign unewearyness, and pretended to be impaitently waiting for his incompetant wizards. Moments later, the creature struck as fast as a snake, with similar percision.

Unfortunately for the snake-like creature, she stopped a moment too soon before making her lunge, which let the drow pin-point her location. A twist and and horizontal slash later, her blood would be spilt across the adjastent walls.

Of course, this hellion could take a hit from a common drow weapon and live. Had the captain brought a more appropriate weapon, knowing full well the powers and restraints of hellions, she would have been ended then and there, but this was a training excercise, as far as anyone else knew.

The counter attack enabled the captian to measure the opponent with clear infravisioned eyes, marking her as one of the Tanar-ri. The six armed variaty with the upper torso of a woman, and the snake like tail where legs should have been. A merilith. Each hand held some nasty looking weapon, four swords, a hammer and a flail. The drow was acctually feeling very unimpressed. One would assume after surviving hell, she would realize that her six arms were not an advantage in a melee confrentation.

That brief moment passed as the Captain rolled sidelong away from a counter attack which had the four swords piercing forward (held in the lower four arms, as the arms were stacked) for where he stood. He could tell from the lack of air pressure, or his chi told him, that the weapons were a faint, and he was rolling into a downwards attack from the hammer. A moment later, his sword blocked a downwards strike, and he was flat on his back. Things were not suposed to look good for him, but you can only expect so much from creatures that foughter weaker beings regularly.

Her tail whisked for his torso, and he allowed her to entrap his legs. She tried to crush him with constriction while her upper torso moved to skewer his exposed half with her rather unfriendly swords. The blade came down, expecting the basterd sword to be broken, which it wasn't, and to find the armour weak and powerless to stop her blades. The basterd sword required a great deal of room in order to hack away through thick armour, as the weapon was designed to do, so the drow was left with simple parrys that he trained for in school, seven hundred years prior to ths fight. Since those days, pathetic attacks made to finish pathetic foes meant nothing to his reflexive arms. The strike came in an almost predictable pattern, because the four arms actually prevent any complex maneavours, such as Jarlaxle's, and lower arms attacking interfered with the upper arms, creating a mesh of blows that would only fell creatures the Captain would find to be minor inconviences if he even noticed them, such as human vetrens. The hammer poised to strike at the captain again, but it was a ruse, because the force of the weapon would have been more effective if she used the head of the weapon as a spear, and not an axe. The flail came from almost no-where, which was not surprising. The merilith had tried to work the defences into moving in a predictable pattern, so this unpredictable attack would score a hit. Unfortunately, the drow could 'see' it coming.

As the weapon flew behind the swords, the lower arms ducked out of the way to allow the attack full momentum, which oppened her torse. Added to the 'surprise' attack was a more intense constriction, which caused some of the dragon scale plates to make strange noises. Thus, as the arms spread and the flail came, with the constriction and dupe, the merilith had hoped toa gain the victory or a least a critical hit with her flail.

An thus the creature was promptly defeated. The flail came flying towards the drow's suposidedly surprised head, looking to find a feast of flesh and pool of blood to wash it down, but instead it only found the tip of sword, and how it sliced through the hellmetal and into the base of the creature's hand. The weapon dropped to the ground near the drow's head, destroyed by that single blow. The force of the attack impaled the hand on the weapon which was waiting for the opening to present itself. Completely cought off guard to the obvious maneouver, which kind of annoyed the drow, the merilith released her grip on the drow with her tail, and flung herself away, hoping to regroup from her surprise. Unfortunately for her, she only opened up the room the drow need to finish her off. Looking upon her weaponry, the merilith noticed that her hammer was cracked, and most of the edge on her swords was missing. She looked at the drow weapon, which was now on the right side of the drow, and was stunned at how sharpe it looked after taking the beating from her weapons. She tried to bring up her swords to stop the attack she knew was coming, as the drow used his levitation to bring himself off the ground while she let go of him. The sword sliced horizontally at first, but changed direction to bring it on a fourty-five degree angle which would decrease the creature's ability to dodge it with a simple maneavour. The attack was a feign, designed to catch the attention of the foe or destroy whatever weapons she might bare upon him.

The four swords reached out to meet the blade, and promptly shattered under the impact. The resulting shards provided the drow with an optical distraction which he adjusted his actual attack to take advantage. The swordshot straight down towards the ground with a whirlwind of force, causing the shards to drop quite violently. The prince then spunusing the sword as a pivot and brought his back to hers. She was looking at the blade one moment, and felt it the next. Her torso fell from her tail, and she began to instantly decompose, as that perticular brand of summoned creature does.

The drow stepped away from the carcase, and checked his body. The plates of his armour protected him from the scales, but she emited an intense heat that he did not notice during the fight. His legs were singed, minorly burned from the heat but nothing that could not heal in a few days, from about his waist down, his armour blackened, and the cloth underneath it missing. His arms began to feel like mush after a few moments, and he realised that any of those strikes would probly skewer a wild boar. He walked about for a minute, and looked at the battlefield, where the snake lady was now missing, leaving a rather horrid burn mark, from acid and fire, where she lay. She could have proven to be a more challenging foe, if she did not underestimate her lone opponent. Maybe if she knew he was a drow, she would not have acted so foolishly. The captain taped his helmet, its featureless form was smooth and black. She would only have seen the gear, and hoped he was human. His wizard after all, used that guise.

After the addrenaline wore thin, he noted he had a mild concusion from when his tumble was interrupted. He sustained minimal damage because he was armed with a drow weapon, and wearing rather suitable armour. Next time, he should lessen his garments to simple drow chain, and wear an open faced helm, so his opponent can measure his lavender eyes and ebony skin.

A slight look over to Malik...and Piper who was apparently usuing him as a chair. Hm, that was certinally a little sight now wasn't it? Though he would keep his comments to himself. But a little nod to Malik. "Indeed I am taking it easy on her because she's pregnant. Runing drains the body after all and she needs all the energy she can get." A little shrug. "I keep her entertained and learning and that's the important part."

Turning his eyes down to watch Arthur as he took againt the apparent dwarf that he was up again. Quite a bit of avoidance swordplay. "He's going to wear himself out with all that jumping around..." Yes out of all the things he could think of to pick at Arthur about his swordplay, he chose that. After all, elves may be gifted in thier endurance but he doubted Arthur knew the full advantage of what he possessed and thus he was wasting his energy with jumping around when some good strifing would suffice. But this was his department with the human raised elf, it was Malik's.

"I'd say put him up again a jhereg...then we'll see how he does." Said with a little smirk and a chuckle...that would just be funny to watch. "But yes I'm here to take him off your hands. I have my own things to do today as well and don't want to spend my whole day on lessons." Thus he cleared his throat, looking back to the arena. "Arthur! Put up the sword and come along before I consider you late and you have to suffer the consequences!" Was he being mean? No...for Zahara suffered her own if she was late. Or did before she was pregnant.

A look over to Sevilin as he made an apperance to collect Arthur. She didn't know who Arthur would think who was the lesser of two evils in respect to his trainings. Though as said before, she really had no mind of sympathy or even really thought on him right now. They hadn't been forced into contact and he seemed just fine avoiding her or whatever it was he was doing to not be around her. And perhaps right now she was fine with that...she wasn't quite solid in her thinking on him. But she only more or less snuggled down into Malik a bit more with a little sigh. Yup, she was fine right where she was.
