Oh...he's cool. Just gruff on the outside. Like Twinkie on the inside.
*Chris was babbling. Why was he suddenly distracted by Dani in a swimsuit. GET A GRIP, POWELL! Sheesh.*
Um...he told you to loosen it in the pool? That doesn't make sense. You should be in the hot tub. You can sit over there. I won't bother you. I was just relaxing after working out over at Murdock's dojo. Mr. Rogers wants me to get more hand to hand work in.
...
You okay?

" Yes, that's Mysia. She's a sweetheart."
Cassie started to walk around campus with Linda looking for Achilles.
"He's probably hiding from Karen... She has a major crush on him but she's totally NOT his type. I think it surprised her to find a guy who doesn't stare at her chest.."
She saw a flyer on the ground and she picked it up.
" An 80's themed Snow Dance?... That sounds like so much fun. But I don't know if Wally would be up for it..."
Cassie knew all the rumors. Proving them to be right might create some trouble for Wally and that was the last thing she wanted to do.

"He seems like a really cool person! Karen has very good taste!"
Suddenly it dawned on her. O_O Oh wow... She's not his TYPE!... And she didn't mean the pushy, aggressive type did she...
"Ahem* I see."
Rubs the back of her head sheepishly.
"Now I know why he run away form her. I would too!"
Linda looks at the paper in her hand.
"I get the feeling that Wally will like anything that involves the two of you together. Dance or No Dance."

Sloowly Dani slips into the tub, on the far side of Powell, she slumped down that her chin was just above the water and the rest of her body was submerged.
“Uh yeah, I'm fine. Bad knee is all.”
Suddenly she felt very aware of her body something she never really thought about before... And unlike other girls her age... Dani was a little flat chested. She frowned imagining Karen and her melons, all the boys were so attracted to her despite the fact that she would punch them into the moon... Dani barely had grapes... and when was the last time someone showed her attention... Like the Last dance? That was months ago!
“Uhh.. So how are things.”

*Whew. She was below the waterline. What the hell was wrong with him lately? This was the second time he caught himself thinking naughty thoughts about Dani. She was his friend and he shouldn't be like that. Maybe it was just a side effect of the dumping.*
Okay..I guess. Karen Starr forgave me for the Razor thing which was cool. Still calls me names though. She...mentioned Cassie and Wally. I told her I figured that one out myself.
*There was uncomfortable silence. Dani was still their friend. He didn't want to put her in awkward position by complaining about them.*

"Karen can be such a jerk sometimes... But it's cool that she forgave you... And I think the Name calling is just her way of 'being nice'. Maybe she thinks of it like a pet name...? Here's an idea why don't ou try calling her names and see what she says!"
She thought on this for a moment then stopped herself.
"But I would do with when you get your Armor back just in case."
Se brought a hand up at the mention of Cassie and Wally.
"Hey I was thinking I could help you with that."
She perked up slightly so her shoulders were out of the water. This conversation could give her hope. te Gang could get back together.
"So you know about that dance right? The Snow Ball 80's one! Well I was thinking... Maybe We could all get a table together..."
She spoke softly, this may be pushing it but surely they could be in the same room together and share a table... that didn't mean they had to sit next to each other right?

Cassie blushed...
" I don't know... I just... I feel like screwed up everything."
Cassie sighed.
"Wally and Chris were so close... best friends. I came in between that and messed it all up. Dani's not taking sides with the whole thing but still I miss the days when Dani, Chris, Achilles, Wally, Patroculus and I would all hang out and have fun together. But that will never happen again."
Cassie looked down.
" So if things don't work out between me and Wally and he ends up hating me... don't be surprised...."
Cassie then laughed.
" Oh what am I saying? Forget about it. Let's go see if Achilles headed back to his room"
Walks towards the boys dorms.

*Chris was silent for a minute.*
I'm sorry, Dani, but I can't right now. I can't sit there and pretend to be okay with them. I can't sit there and not be with her. Watch them dance and....
...
This would all be so much easier if I could hate her.
*Chris climbed out of the tub and dried himself off.*
I'll see you later.
*Chris changed back into his clothes in the locker room and started back towards the dorms when Emma Frost's thoughts intruded on his. She was summoning him to Headmistress Prince's office.
He headed over there was ushered inside. Diana, Emma, and Dr. Samson stood there. Chris was a bit nervous. Was he in trouble?*
Christopher, Dr. Samson has told Emma and me that he believes you've taken responsibility for what happened in the case of Talon and Razor. And that you're making efforts to work on some of your problems.
We thought it would only be fitting to return your amulet to you.
T-thank you. I'll make sure your trust in me is well placed.
*Diana and Emma nodded and Samson escorted Chris out.*
I'd still like you to see me, Chris. I know the amulet has an anger side effect and rage issues are my specialty. Plus, we should discuss your relationship with Cassie.
Huh?
You're a teenager. You can't really know love yet. But we'll talk about that another time.
*Samson strolled off as Chris slipped his amulet over his head. He was getting really tired of people telling him that couldn't ever be in love. Ugh.
Chris slipped into his armor as soon as he got outside and launched himself into air. Damn, flying felt good after more than a week of being grounded.*

Wallace had decided that he was going to go out of his dorm room for once, and so, he stepped bravely out into the hallway, saw that there was nothing interesting going on, and immediately went back inside to fix himself a martini. Pouring it into a thermos, he headed back out into the hallway, taking a sip of his drink as he wandered aimlessly through the corridors.

Jen walked away from the office in a mixed mood. It was getting a bit too deep for her liking when Dr Samson had been called away. She had been late by 20 minutes anyway so her appointment was behind. She looked at the small card for her next appointment and silently vowed to be late for that one.
'Like I have anything wrong with me.' She sighed.
She sat down on the grass and rummaged through her bag. She had a whole hour till she was needed in the gym and she could at least continue with her study. She slipped out her mp3 player and listened to her favourite tunes while she brushed up on her History.

"Are you sure this is going to work Jen?"
Billy said through the cell phone as he stood in his upstairs bedroom of his family's house outside of Midvale. Speaking from her own phone clear in Midvale, still on campus, his friend and mentor, Jennifer Kale laughed.
"Absolutely sweet pea! It'll be a cute way to invite your friends for the holidays. I still think you watch too much 'Harry Potter' but I designed the spell for you so no worries."
"Whew! That's good. If I had designed it god knows what would have happened."
"You're being too hard on yourself kiddo. You're still in your freshman year so of course your spells will go wonky every now and then."
"Every now and then...?" Billy smirked wryly. Oh if only it was only that good!
"Okay, so maybe yours' have a little goof more often than the norm, but things will get better. Remember we have another Magic Competition after holidays."
"Don't remind me! Okay Jen, I'll send it to them. Thanks again! Have a good holiday."
"You too sweet pea. Be good."
Billy snapped his cell shut and turned to the table where three white envelopes draped in a lush, red ribbon were on display. Each had a name emblazoned on it; Teddy Altman ... Hartley Rathaway ... and Wallace Wells.
Billy then opened his window and as soon as the cold air hit the envelopes, little paper "wings"' sprouted from beneath them and hugged themselves with a brief shiver. The wings then reached out and flapped and took off in flight, heading for Midvale and Hero High's campus.
Each one an invitation for their recipient to spend the holiday break at his family's home.
"Teddy,
I was talking with mom and she and dad said I could invite a couple friends over for the holiday break since my brothers are out of town with my grandma. So I thought maybe you and your mom would like to come spend the holiday break with? I'm also inviting Wallace and Hartley. I'll come pick you guys up when school lets out for you.
See you soon! Billy aka the Spaz"
(of course Hartley and Wallace's invites would have their names in the headers and the other two in the body of the letter) rofl

See you soon!
Billy, aka the Spaz
Well. That was something. Hartley looked up at Doctor Quinzel with barely-disguised embarrassment as he crumpled up the invitation and stuffed it into his coat. She raised an eyebrow at him.
"So, where were we before we were interrupted?"
"Uh...you were asking about my mom."
"That's right! How's mommy doing?"
"Better...she's on crutches but the doctor says it's way too fast and that she needs to relax. But relaxing isn't really my parents' thing."
"An' how's Wallace doing?"
"Good, I guess...busy. He's been giving me space."
"And how does that make you feel?"
"Fine? I don't know. I've been sorta numb lately."
"You know what I think?"
"Is this where you prescribe that I do something crazy and possibly illegal in the name of having some fun?"
"You're catchin' on!"
Hartley grimaced.
"I've been trying to do better in class this semester. History of villainy is actually pretty interesting, and my advisor, Ms. Darkholme has been doing some side training with me and a couple other guys that's been paying off."
"All the more reason for you to learn how t' relax, Harts. You're gonna have a Hart attack if you don't de-stress. I could prescribe ya some really nice-"
"NO medications!"
"Fine, fine, I was going to say herbal supplements, but whatever. I'm prescribin' that ya do something fun this weekend. With Wallace. Or else."
"Or else what?"
"Or else I start doin' co-sessions with you and Achilles."
Gah. Hartley almost fell back in his chair.
"All right. Something fun. This weekend."
"WITH Wallace."
"With Wallace."
"Laws be damned!"
"Yeah...laws be damned."
Hartley walked out of the session a bit confused. Something that was fun and maybe a little dangerous? A dozen things sprang to mind...as well as a dozen guilt-inducing admonishments from Wallace, just as quickly. This was going to take some thought...
"Hartley. Hold on a moment." Hartley turned around to see Ms. Darkholme walking towards him. He slowed his pace to wait for the teacher.
"Afternoon, ma'am."
"Hartley, I was wondering if you would do me a favor." That was unusual. Hartley paused in his walk out of the office.
"Sure...what?"
"Would you extend an invitation to Chris Powell to come to our next training session?"
"Chris Powell? Why him?" Hartley gave the teacher an incredulous look. Powell was a goody-goody. He was more likely to tattle about the things they'd been learning than anything else. Besides, the way he'd treated Lisa still ticked Hartley off. Lisa was kind of a b***h, but for whatever reason she nursed a crush on Powell, and he'd treated her like shoe-gum.
"Because Mr. Powell is headed down a rough path right now, and it has always been my instinct to take strays in." The teacher smiled enigmatically at Hartley, who shrugged under her glare.
"Okay. I'll ask him. No problem."
"Good boy." She rubbed Hartley's shoulder and headed on her way. Hartley sighed. He knew she was affectionate of her students and missed having Digger and Evan around, but still....Powell?
All of this gave Hartley even more to think about as he headed back to the dorms.

"Oh my God what is this?" Wallace said, taken aback by the little flapping envelope that was hovering before him. A hand fluttered to his chest, and he watched it a moment longer before taking a sip of his martini and taking it gingerly in his hand. Setting his drink aside, he pulled it open and read the invitation.
It was kind of cute. A big, gay holiday. He wondered if Hartley planned to spend it with his parents after the incident, but he had seemed moody to him, and maybe the time away would do him some good. He'd have to find out. His own parents would want him home at some point, but he was sure they wouldn't mind. He'd never been to a Christmas celebration before, and ...oh s**t, Billy was Jewish. Well, he'd never done Hannukah either. Man, but there was no such thing as a Hannukah tree or Santa Berg. Wallace frowned, looking at the invitation again before laying it neatly on his nightstand.
Teddy would probably go since he was Billy's boyfriend, and they liked to spend time together. Plus, it'd be good to see Hartley again. He'd been giving him some time, but he still missed him. Maybe he'd go try to find him now.
Sliding off his bed, he donned some pants and a pair of slip on loafers before heading down the hallway to Hartley's room. Waiting outside the door, he knocked tentatively. "Hart? It's Wallace. You ok? I miss you." Oh gees. He shouldn't have added that last part. It sounded pathetic, but it was true. He could just blame it on melancholia brought on by alcohol.

Teddy had been changing in the boy's locker room when the note hit him square in the chest and floated to land precariously balanced in the lip of his jeans as he hoisted them up. He did his pants up, plucked the note out of his pants and ripped it open. Figured that it was from Billy. He couldn't help but smile, and he tucked the note back in his pocket as he pulled a wife beater on over his head. Lastly, he pulled on a hoodie and his sneakers before grabbing his backpack and heading out of the locker room. So, Billy had invited Wallace and Hartley too. Strange, but maybe it could be pleasant if Hartley didn't play make out music.

Cassie was outside Achilles room with Linda and knocked on the door.
" I hope he's here... and I hope he's not mad about me leaving him with Karen"
Cassie leaned against the wall... she thought about her mom... What was Brainiac anyways. Why was it so special? Her mom had been acting so strange lately.
" Linda ... do me a favor if you remember what Brainiac is let me know... Okay?"
