Zalego appeared in Kalto's office. "I see you have accomplished your task." he said, smiling.
Kalto smiled, "Yep, now, there's just the matter of the money you need to pay me."
Miaka decided to make a gamble, "Cant you look in on what Superio is doing? Zalego might have already done something..."

The gods nodded "That, we can do" and the portal changed to a view of Kalto and Zalego, the could hear everything.

Kalto pulled the Soul Gem out of his desk, "If you dont pay up, I let him free... and the girl, too."
Miaka silently watched.

Zalego's hand suddenly shot out and ripped out Kalto's throat. "I beg to differ... and I'll be taking over this company now." he said as he bent down and picked up the Soul Gem.
Kalto's body spasmed as it fell to the floor.
"Oh no..." Miaka muttered.

Zalego slipped the Soul Gem into a pocket, then turned and walked out of the office.

Miaka looked at the portal, unsure of what to do. She wanted to help Superio, but she was afraid of Zalego... and all gods, for that matter.
