Riv: civil service is something you have to do instead of the military for 1 year. You have to have a personal (often if you're a pacifist) or religious reason (at least you have to in Norway).

Rivlen what is civil service? also it is about 7:30 in the morning right now
you´ll do a civilian duty on accepted locations, but twice longer time
then on military service.m0rphia As: I see. I wouldn't want to be in the army either, it seems... not cool 3nodding
To me it really wasn´t.

and I didn't know that civil service was twice the time. It's not like that here in Norway. It's one year, the same as military duty 3nodding

Rivlen so what is the difference? Civil service is not military related. It's just like a job. Many people work in a kindergarden or schools or cafeterias etc.

Ours is 6 months in military and civil service is 1 year. gonk
It used to be 13 months, but it was shorted to 1 year.
