"Known across Middle-earth as 'The Man With the Golden Lightsaber', Saruman stood atop Orthanc, being an eternal badass. Also, a vampire."

Just got back from a week and a half of pure h*ll in Texas. A total of three TV channels, no internet access, obnoxious levels of heat and humidity and relatives I can't stand to be in the same room with. When I got home I booted up my computer only to discover over a quarter of the keys on my keyboard no longer work. Now I'm forced to type with my mouse and an on-screen keyboard program, but it feels amazing to finally be sleeping in my own real bed instead of in broken down recliner or on the floor.

Asmondai "No Troop choice for Deathwing army, now elites only formation" ...But isn't that logical? I mean, Deathwing is the elite of Dark Angels?

Tiina Brown ...But isn't that logical? I mean, Deathwing is the elite of Dark Angels? Yes, when you wield them in reqular Dark Angel army. Not when Deathwings themself go to war in armybuild wise. emo
It makes as much sense as having Scout squads as Elite choice. sweatdrop Vikki Stardust Play it unbound or more likely, as a formation, duuuuuuuuuuuh. 3nodding But I wanna FoC Deathwings and Ravenwings. crying

So they can be fielded as an army? It would still be an Army of Elites, so unless Codex Astartes (or whatever it is called, I don't remember) is or has been changed to allow for Elite Scouts, they would not have scouts either. Or do you mean that they DO have Scouts, but the Codex hasn't really gotten fixed to account for Elite Scouts among the Dark Angels? ....In that case, it is a bit fishy.

Because in fluffs, deathwing and ravenwing companies are separate army in the dark angels chapter, given the task to scour and hunt for the fallen angels. Because of this, for 4-5 books dark angels had the option of building a full terminator/dreadnought/land raider army and full bike/attackbike/landspeeder armies, if they had a designated model on correct armour/bike (or now a days, belial and sammael), which made the chapter different and unique in comparison to other chapters (with the exception of white scars chapter, which has more freedom in unit choices then ravenwing has), with the optional rules to turn terminator squads and bike squads as troop choices, due to mandatory 1hq, 2troops limit in the FoC list. Dark Angels do follow Codex Astartes (otherwise they might have been purged) on companies and command structures, with the exception of 1st Company (Deathwing) and 2nd Company (Ravenwing).
This is more of an nitpick on armybuilds point of view (and chapter tradition), taking away troops choice is like taking away gauss-weapons from necrons or chaos space marines loosing traitor-legion abilities or blood angels loosing Red Thirst and Black Rage (which did happen, once..... we don't speak of that).
And the whole Elite Scouts, I meant that in the previous codex, scout squads of the dark angels, which are fresh out of trainers neophytes, we're attached as Elite choise in armylist building on a account them being rare units in the chapter to be seen in battlefields, when previously they have always been troops choices.
I´m sorry for ranting, having endured some minor bs and stupidity of GW keeping dark angels as a test-platform for everything, this just got me mad. cry

Vikki Stardust Maaaaaaaaybe they'll get a Deathwing formation with objective secured, so you wont need any troops. Deathwing is a formation in the new book, with only bonus of getting Twin-Linked rule when they Deep Strike...... which was a passive special rule in the current book. emo

* Gives up on trying to make sense of the Deathwing complaints, feel it was enough when she got chewed out for pointing out that they originally had white (skull white) armor and not light beige (bleached bone) armor as they have now, a year or more back. *

Bases used to be snot green. Ultramarines used to be blue and yellow. Bolters and lasguns used to be red. Genestealers used to drive limos.
