I don't see why you couldn't. I mean if you can make a cloak out of it, you can make it into other garments as well.
But perhaps he uses liquid Nitrogen as an Air Conditioner. I dunno. Its not my character.

hmm...not a very good system if he took a sudden hard blow to the torso from say a concussion rifle. The Nitrogen might burst.

No, I meant as in the AC system for the ship. The REst of the crewmembers might freeze, but he'll be warm...
