The "arm" for lack of a better term, literally TORE itself free of Ryugi's flesh with a sickening, pulpy, ripping noise as bits of flesh and skin hung on it. The material that covered it was very odd looking indeed, but it being behind Ryugi, he couldn't get a decent look at it, and even if he could, he was busy recouperating from the massive ammount of pain he'd just been given. The new appendage stung a little as the air touched it, much like a fresh wound or tender new skin. While it was interesting to be sure, he suddenly became aware of Eclipse's absence...

Vargus... Did you see where Eclipse went off to? I don't see him anywhere...

He jumped up into the trees, but when that thing came out of you...my attention was dragged away from him... How does it feel?

Its very tender, like new skin, and it stings a little, but I should be ok in a few moments... Once I'm feeling up to it, we should start looking for Eclipse...there no telling where he is in this forest...

Ryugi then took a few deep breaths, moving his shoulder around a bit, slowlt working the joint, and wondering what the hell this thing was that had sprouted out of his back...

Its very tender, like new skin, and it stings a little, but I should be ok in a few moments... Once I'm feeling up to it, we should start looking for Eclipse...there no telling where he is in this forest...

Ryugi then took a few deep breaths, moving his shoulder around a bit, slowlt working the joint--

::The apendage would be feeling better, warmer, and thicker, far less sensitive until that moment when Ryugi decided to move it and....Pop.

Yes, Pop.

A crack in the joint as Ryugi moved it. The apendage snapped straigh to the right of Ryugi, and as it did, the "sheath" around it flung open, literally. One could see a third thinner bone extending from the central joint and holding the thick material fabric between the joints of the shaft like...a wing.

It was infact a wing, but something was wrong. A wing is thin, the skin, the bone, are both light and thin...this was not at all either of the above. The skin was thick and even hard when it was fully extended across the 6ft wing span. And the bone was solid, almost as hard as rock and seemed be very wide, wider than necessary. It was similar to a bat wing and yet more related to the wing of a Pteradactyl, and yet something about its design, at least to Ryugi, seemed older than both.

Then came the screech. Like a bit, or a monkey jumping out of a tree, or maybe a combination of both, as Eclipse jumped from the nearby tree on a free fall straight for Ryugi. Poor little lizard didnt know that you need TWO wings to fly. And even though he had a tiny matching wing, he was only spiraling down to Ryugi with razor sharp claws draw and ready to sink into something to save him from his fall. And in particular, aiming for his face.

Before Ryugi could even react, something in him reacted. Something primal, something old, and the wing snapped into action. It bent around in front of him like a shield covering the majority of his front, with a red shadow, as a slight light passed through the many blood vessels in the wing.

Eclipses claws sunk in he grinded the entire way down safely to the ground...but here was the tricky part...Ryugi felt no pain. Infact instead of hearing a tear, he would hear a sound similar to the sound that a nail makes when it scrapes across wood. And once the danger had passed the wing flicked back like a switch blade back behind Ryugi's back, laying flat as if waiting for its next assignment.

It really would be a horrible asset when it came to flying, but as a shield...its size would allow it withstand most sword slashes, which is to say the sword would sink in, sort of like it would sink into a block of wood, providing Ryugi with something a "natural shield". And while blood pumped through the apendage, pain cells did not. Meaning Ryugi would be able to feel the impact on the wing, but less than 20% of the pain. That of course did not mean that it didnt take damage, but only that he would feel little pain from said damage, unless it was truly intense. Also the 3 fingers would act as sort of an extended hand letting him grab small oncoming objects.

In addition, its size would allow the once human warrior, to defend a few people, perhaps one or two in its span. And as was the standard in Ryugi's body, the 2inch antimagic shield covered the One Wing.

As an interesting side effect, when the wing was fully extended, its edge was hard, and even sharp, meaning the flat extended wing could itself be used as a blade of sorts. Only time would tell if it was a gift, or a curse. But, as Eclipse climbed Ryugi's front, and sat on his shoulder yet again, twitching his matching wing, something just seemed "right'.::

((Lazy~~ 4laugh ))

Amber blinked and nodded, getting slowly to her feet, carryng the two toasted slices carefully in her hand as she looked over her shoulder and turned, slowly walking towards John with soft and quiet footsteps, her ears flickering nervously as her tail swayed in time with her moving.

"J-John?" she asked quietly, sitting herself beside him and holding out his warm cheese slice, "Did you want something to eat...?"

*blinku blinku*

Juunikyuu blinked at Mere as he questioned the Leviathan pendent that hung around her neck, already munching hungrily on the toasted slice, crumbs spreading round her face. She swallowed her mouthful and gave a serious pout, a hand reaching up to clasp the pendent.

"My friend gave this to me... And I haven't seen him in a long time... Chu can't have it, I gots to keep it safe!"

She paused and fiddled with it, alongside the medallion and pendent that Enki had given her.

"Besides... Juunish did promise to keep it safe for Sunny-sama..."

It would take some serious persuading for Juuni to hand over the pendent for Mere to look at.

Almost as soon as the young anthro had sat next to the massive Tribal he had plonked himself down beside her, his arm had wrapped itself around her waist and pulling her into his lap and holding her tightly to him, pressing her against the cuts on his chest, the blood caked around it rubbing off on her clothes.

"Kthan uyo, ym elov..." He whispered softly, taking his piece of toast and biting into it, the cheese trailing off the toast as he chewed on it slowly, his sight still scanning the forests blankly, his head turning every now and then to shoot a look back to his 'little sister' and their mysterious guide...

Sunstrike

Henry blinked and looked at her in astonishment.

"Sunny....you mean Sunstrike?" He suddenly laughed out loud. "Amazing..." The blue eyes looked at her warmly and a little searchingly.

"It's alright Juuni, you don't have to take it off. I know Sunstrike from a few years back, actually. I'm surprised to find him giving gifts to people."

Surprised didn't half cover it. One of Sunstrike's lasting faults was the inability to give up things, to hold onto and hoard his treasured possessions til they suffocated or rotted away. Yet, this little girl was bouncing around, unfazed by an obviously caring Sun. Will wonders never cease...he thought amusedly to himself.

Continuing from where we left off...

((With the exception that we're changing the RP to PAD: Post Arena Destruction))

*Adina's eyes stayed on the man, her crimson gaze trained on his own as he the words he spoke rang empty and devoid of emotion but his eyes lamented. There was something more there indeed.

She would let it be for now, but the vampiress would not forget what his eyes had betrayed. There was deep pain here... and great sorrow.

She turns her attention to something else the man had mentioned, ignoring the rude little quip about her pressence.*

"So ye' be looking for someone then stranger? May I ask the name of the one you seek? Perhaps I know of them..."

Ennes titled his head slightly as she returned his gaze, and he wondered briefly what she saw in him, if anything. Out of curiousity mainly.

But as she spoke, he pushed the prievious thought to the back of his mind and shrugged slightly at her question

"I don't even know if he goes by the name anymore. Though it always had something to do with Night. We're somewhat alike, prefering to hunt and live at night. I always thought things were so much simplier and civilized when the sun goes down."
PostPosted: Sat Sep 17, 2005 9:06 am

"The night simple? What a sweet minded notion... But alas the shadows are many a twisted thing."

*That he thought the change of night from day made things simpler was... well, simply put... cute.

Pity the man had never encountered Vampire politics... nothing about Adina's life had EVER been simple. Even before she was turned...

Everything held a second meaning, truths were fallacies and the falsehoods replaced truths.*

"Night..."

*She tested the name on her tongue, letting the word ooze forth like honey, or the softest of velvets, a suggestive whisper from so plain a word.*

"This one's name rings a bell of familiarity..."

He shrugged again, ignoring the slight patronization

"They are indeed. But not so twisted as humans tend to be in everyday life. I find dealing with your kind so much... simpler. I've always found the night so much more serene then the dealings of people during the day. Even with knowing what 'goes bump in the night.'"

A small, imvoluntary shiver swept over his body as she said the name. Damn it's been way too long

"Maybe he does lurk around here then."

*i enter the forest for the first time. not knowing what or who i shalll meet i am slightly cautious. as i gaze around up at the trees, they are so beautiful, i trip over a large root and fall flat on my face. i get up quickly hoping no one was spying on me and was getting a good laugh at my stumble. i stand and look at the trees, they looked somewhat like the trees that were in the forest that my sister protected, except those ones you could talk to if you were REALLY board.....some how i didn't think the trees here could converse with anyone but themselvs. i continue on my way. now paying attention more to where my feet were going*

It had been a while since Ryugi's little incident, and the new appendage, which had blossomed into a lovely dragon wing, was feeling wonderful. The small group of three adventureres had spent a couple days exploring the ruins of the elven city, and were surprised by the amount of beauty and artifacts they found. Ancient statues covered in vines and overgrowth, mosaics of different colored glass portraying scenes of family life, beautiful vases, all of these things were in abundance and scattered throughout the ruins.

However, it was now time to leave the wonderous place, and the three gathered their things and began to head towards the supposed direction of the Gaian Plains. About an hour or so after the group had left the ruins and had gone on their way, Ryugi was walking up ahead of Vargus with Eclipse on his shoulder. The sunlight filtering through the trees was marvelous and the crisp clean air was refreshing. He kept looking down the path when a sudden glint of light caught his eye. He stopped walking and cocked his head to the side a bit, always curious.

He looked back quickly to see if Vargus was still following behind. She was. About six feet behind him he could hear the slight crunching coming from her boots on the twigs and leaves covering the ground. He then moved towards the glint of light and stooped down next to it. He couldn't quite make out what the glint was coming from, so he reached out and tried to brush away some of the debris.

To his surprise, he saw a sword, the blade glinting a bit in the sunlight. The blade itself appeared to be about three and a half feet long, and about four and a half inches wide at its widest point. While bits of silvery metal did indeed show, much of the blade was covered in rust, as if trying to hide the sword's full potential. Ryugi picked up the sword and brushed the remaining bits of foliage and vines off of it. He then gave it a gentle swing, noticing that the blade moved a bit in the handle, but not enough to come loose or go flying durring a fight. The edges of the blade, though rusted, were still quite sharp, and the handle had good grip. The weight ratio was very familiar to the weight ratio that Ryugi had felt when he wielded Ragnarok, and as a bonus, this sword could also be wielded with both hands, or just one.

Well, are you going to keep it or just keep playing with it?

Vargus' voice knocked Ryugi out of his silent thoughts and pulled him back into the realm of the living, so to speak.

It may just be a rusted junker, but its still got some fight left in it.

He then looked back at the sword, and then felt the empty "all size" shieth on his back that was comprised of several adjustable belts and latches all connected to a single piece of leather coated metal that hung on his back by a strap. Ryugi had always been a swordfighter, and after the loss of Ragnarok, he'd missed the swordplay, as well as the weapon itself, terribly. With a single nod to himself, he'd decided. It was time for Ryugi the Fist Fighter to rest, and for Ryugi the Swordfighter to emerge once more.

Yeah... I'm going to keep it.

With that, he placed the sword in the sheith, tightened the straps to the new size, and the group began on their way once more...

K'thunk!

The slight sound of a small projectile whistling through the air silenced the woodlands as it struck into the earth at the man's feet. A single black bolt, like that of a small crossbow imbedded itself in the ground, halting the man.

With a rustling in the bushes, a figure stepped out, wearing a dark blue set of armour, his skin ebony in the light, short spikey purple hair stood ataop his head. His eyes were slightly slanted and almond shaped, and with a grin, he began to speak.

"Vedui'," he spoke in his native tongue, "Not very often does one find a warrior wandering in the woods. Especially when one is looking for a fight." he said with a grin, a hand held crossbow in his left hand and a battleaxe in his right.

*Q took a leap back, reach behind himself with his right hand and grabbing A hilt of a sword that was nestled into his belt.*

Well, you may have just found yourself one. Id rather you not shoot at me again or this place wont be the same color for much longer...

*Q twirled the hilt idly between his fingers, It looked as though the blade was missing from it*

He shrugged and dropped the weapon, or rather, as he let go of it, it fell and swung to his left hip, a chord keeping it in place.

Taking the battleaxe in both hands, he prepared for a fight, letting the 4' haft of the weapon slide freely inbetween his gauntletted hands as he shifted it from one side to the other.

Two weapons were not all that he carried though, it was also visible that he had a shortswrd at his right hip and a dagger sheather at his left hip, next to the crossbow.
