"Not unless you can convince my grandmother," she muttered under her breath, and shook her head. "I doubt it," she told him, a little louder. "I didn't think you'd really care that much, after all."

letting go of keiko, he looked Blankly to Shiko. "Nothing. Its nothing at all. " Smiling fakely, the host walked away and sat at the seat near one of the windows.

"Maybe you should find him? He probably got distracted along the way," Keiko suggested with a laugh. She felt bad about lying to Shiko, her best friend at the Club, but she was too ashamed to tell the truth.
She strode over to the window seat and sat down facing Kaoru, sighing. "I didn't mean to cause all this trouble," she muttered to herself. "Stupid." Hesitating, she let one of her hands rest on his, and shook her head. "It makes me happy, knowing you care about me, even as just a customer. Honestly, Kaoru-san, it does."

She shrugged. "If you think of anything, be sure to let me know. Please don't be upset. Your fans will kill me," she added with a weak laugh. "Thanks for listening to me mope, though," she said thoughtfully, leaning forward and hissing him lightly on the cheek before turning to look out the window.
